JSP :: What Is Correct EL Syntax For ArrayList Bean Property

The bean property is an ArrayList<String> with two elements, '100','true'

this is a syntax error within Jasper reports in the printwhenexpression property.I can use the following expression successfully: new Boolean ($F{off_peak_free_minutes}. trim().equals("")==false) - this basically tells Jasper Reports to ignore the column unless it has a value.
Now I'm trying to do the same thing with ZERO but I can't get the syntax right. I've tried: new Boolean($F{off_peak_free_minutes} != 0) but the ZERO comes up with a red underline implying that this is illegal.I've also tried: new Boolean($F{friends_family_minutes}!=Double.valueOf(0)) but the ZERO comes up with the red underline.
I suspect I'm just not specifying the JAVA right. I believe that the $F{friends_family_minutes} variable is a DOUBLE - it prints as 0.00 on the report.
get updated bean property in javascript function. This function I am calling from <a4j: commandbutton> this button is having actionListner, which is updatin bean property based on some User selection. When this action is completed then I am calling javascript function in oncomplete. But that javascript function is not taking updated bean value, it is always taking first value.I can't use hidden text as there are some drop downs which User will selct and then hit commandbutton which will update bean property.
Using JDK7 is there a way to get an object that has got a specific property from the collection? For instance, I might want to seek if there is an Address containg "Tim Carlton" in the ArrayList.
But resource.returnString(r); gives a org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.NullPointerException I started the glassfish server in debug mode and found out that "resource" was null. but @PostConstruct in singleton does print which means singleton bean exists.
Can we call singleton beans with no interface in such a way form a session bean? I actually want to acquire instance of singleton bean when a client invokes method in Client bean...

On the console I see the prints but I receive the NullPointerException

I have tried this example ([URL].../) with CarDao extending the BaseDao, it works like a charm.However, from the CarDao class, my NetBeans underlined the class name “CarDao” with the error message “A session bean must not extend another session bean.” But I can compile, deploy and run the application without any problem.
I have also heard that a session bean cannot extend another session bean, but why it works here?
I am using Java EE 6, NetBeans 8.0.1 and WebLogic 12c for this code testing.
I am trying to do a read/write int property called currentQuestionIndex. This property is the index of the question currently selected, and the value of the property is 0 when a DrivingTest object is first created. I dont understand how to do this. I know the first line below creates an object but the second line creates an array of cars, I'm just not sure how it does that. I can see sportsCar is one object in the array but the others are written in a different way. It seems there should a couple names there instead. Please explain the syntax in this code that's highlighted. I don't know how to make sense of it and I've read through the book where I got it where it explained creating objects.

I dont know for some reason it doesnt work correctly. The colour goes away after I press Space to write the next word.

So I think i completed most of these objectives but am having trouble with the syntax and some of the objectives
So my only error in the entire code is on the 9th line of this code sample. It says "Syntax Error on token "new", @ expected" but @ does not belong there, as far as I can tell, since the error does not go away upon adding it.

My issue is that when I run the code if I enter anything but 1, 2, or 3 the code breaks. I have spent hours trying to find the error. here is my code

I have 4 variables: longitude, latitude, accuracy and distance. I need to store these variables in two different servers, one for private data and the other for public data, in the cloud. Before sending those data to the server, filtering is takes place as private and public variables so that the private and public data will be send to the respective urls specified with.

My intention is to assign those variables the characteristic/properties, public or private, thus, I can easily identify them anywhere in the code whether they are public or private and store them to the respective urls. If the private data attempt to be send to the public url, the rejection should be made. So, How do I do that?
I'm not sure why I'm getting these errors. They only begin to happen after the second if statement, and the subsequent if statements are formatted exactly the same.

In my JSP I need to retrieve some data from MySQL. I need to assign a "email" variable to the "WHERE" clause. The variable is retrieved from the session attribute. So far, I have this code:

lst contains list of objects and one of the objects contains the property bDate(Timestamp) which has the value 28-2-1989 00:00:00.0, now I just wants to change the value into 28-2-1989 and store it back into the List as a Timestamp. how can I do that.
