JSP :: Would Template Based Framework Generates A Lot Of Request Traffic?

Nov 29, 2014

If I have a web page with a lot of data to show, say a lot of tables and graphics, would using non JSP based frameworks result in a lot more individual AJAX requests? For example if the page have 5 tables, with JSP the whole page will be returned to the browser with data for all 5 tables already. But if this is a pure HTML / Javascript based view, then we need to have each of the 5 tables to make individual AJAX requests in order to render the page. Is this indeed the down side for not using JSP?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering moving away from JSP to a template based framework such as Thymeleaf or Freemarker.

Java Program That Randomly Generates Five-digit Lottery Number And Prompts User For Input

Sep 25, 2014

Write a Java program that randomly generates a five-digit lottery number and prompts the user to enter a five-digit number. Each digit in the number is in the range between 0~9. The program should determine which prize the user wins according to the following rule:

• The user wins the first prize if the user input matches all five digits in the lottery number in exact order.
• The user wins the second prize if the user input matches any four digits in the lottery number in exact positions.
• The user wins the third prize if the user input matches any three digits in the lottery number in its exact position.
• The user wins the fourth prize if the user input matches any two digits in the lottery number in its exact position.
• The user wins the fifth prize if the user input matches any one digit in the lottery number in its exact position.

and here is my code. I cant get it to print the right statements.

import java.util.Scanner;
import java.util.Random;
class Hw5 {
static int getPrize(int g1, int g2, int g3, int g4, int g5,
int u1, int u2, int u3, int u4, int u5) {
//code for determining the prize comparing (g1, g2, g3, g4, g5) to (u1, u2, u3, u4, u5)
if (u1 == g1 && u2 == g2 && u3 == g3 && u4 == g4 && u5 == g5)

Traffic Light Simulation Using Multithreading

Feb 2, 2015

I am writing a simple program to simulate a traffic light. What I want is to make them glow after each 1 second, one by one. For example: Firstly Red, then after 10 seconds, red will be put to off and yellow will start glowing and then accordingly green. This process shall continue incessantly (Just for experimental purpose). I have some arrangement done but could not figure out how to put them together in run() method of Runnable interface. I know how interthread communication works. But could not find any logic in this case when three threads will run together.

import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class TrafficLight extends JFrame implements Runnable
{
JButton red, green, yellow ;
TrafficLight()

JSF :: Using JQuery In Template File With Single And Double Quotes

Jan 5, 2015

I'm learning jQuery to integrate into a JSF application but finding some confusion on the correct syntax especially when it comes to combining double and single quotes in the jQuery scripts. So for this particular page I want jQuery to traverse through a list of documents and put icons next to each document to state what type of document each is (ie: PDF, doc, xls). I can get this to work using normal html markup but I get a Syntax Error - Unexpected Token exception in the browser.

I'm confused about whether this means I need to use the right html references for the JSF element I wish to traverse or whether this is a problem with the way I'm using my quotes.

Also I'm not sure how to correctly reference jsf tags inside jQuery scripts. So for an ordinary html page I execute the following jQuery script:

<script type="text/javascript">
$("document").ready(function () {
$("li a[href = ' .pdf']").after("<img src='myImage'/>");
});
</script>

</code>

Then I have a JSF page with the following commandLink:

<p:column>
<p:commandLink class="downLoadLink" value="Download" ajax="false">
<p:fileDownload value="#{projectDocBean.downloadedFile}"
contentDisposition="attachment"/>
</p:commandLink>
</p:column>

For this page I try to execute the following script:

<script type="text/javascript">
$("document").ready(function () {
$("#downLoadLink = ' .pdf']").after("<img src='myImage'/>");
});
</script>

I get the same syntax error no matter what I put into the script of the JSF page. How to correctly integrate jQuery with JSF.

JDBC :: Uploading Template File Into Database Using SetBlob Or SetBinaryStream

Jun 1, 2015

I have a template file which I'm tring to upload into a database using setBlob or setBinaryStream but I'm getting the following error:

java.lang.AbstractMethodError: setBlob
  at weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.PreparedStatement.setBlob(PreparedStatement.java:1005)
  at com.capitalone.citrix.ssp.dao.KatetDaoImpl.uploadReport(KatetDaoImpl.java:1697)
  at com.capitalone.citrix.ssp.services.FileOpsImpl.generateDownload(FileOpsImpl.java:648)
  at com.capitalone.citrix.ssp.controller.JSONController.display(JSONController.java:61)
  at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)

[Code] .....

I'm using :

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
Weblogic Server Versions: 10.3.0.0 with Java 1.6.0_05

The driver class name for the weblogic datasource: weblogic.jdbcx.oracle.OracleDataSource

Initially, I tried:

           sqlQuery = new StringBuffer();
                ps = null;
                sqlQuery.append("insert into KATET_REPORTS (FILE_DATA)");

[Code] ....

This failed, so I changed ps.setBlob(1,is)
to
ps.setBinaryStream(1,is). This failed as well with teh same error, just for setBinaryStream instead of setBlob.

Is there a known inconsistency between that driver and this Weblogic version? Is there something else going on? If I haven't given enough data to debug the issue here, what other data should I gather?

Running Java Application - Analyze Traffic Condition

Jun 18, 2014

I have a java application which uses Google Maps to analyze the traffic condition. But sometimes it can be run and work properly, sometimes not. On some computers on which there is installed java, the program can be run, and on some, again with installed java (jre), exactly the same version, the program can not be run. For example the application first run well on my desktop computer, connected in a LAN, and then stopped working well when run. But when I use laptop which uses the WiFi and run the same computer using VMWare, if I connect to the desktop on which the program can not be run, on the laptop the same program can be run well, in the same room, but using the Wifi.

Swing/AWT/SWT :: Program That Record And Rerun Network Traffic

Sep 21, 2014

I have a program that records and reruns network traffic. It was developed in C and runs in my case under Windows 7 Professional but will run almost anywhere. I have observed a lack of stability.

First I have a JAVA stand alone GUI program that runs the program as follows:

g11_bttn_start_script_capture.addSelectionListener(new SelectionAdapter() {
@Override
public void widgetSelected(SelectionEvent e) {

URI uri = null;
URL url = null;
String tempstr = "";
tempstr = "-s " + g11_txt_PATH_portnumber.getText() + " " + g11_txt_scriptname.getText() + ".both";

[Code] ....

Basically it launches the executable t3drive, hangs arounf so it gets a chance to start, and then connect to it via the embedded browser.

It frequently works, sometimes launches in the browser but then freezes, and sometimes fails to start at all.

t3drive works 100% of the time if I run it under cygwin and I can reliably connect to it using any browser.

Why this might not be stable? Just looking for a direction of what to try next.

I added the Message "!!!" before moving out from the Red State to the orange to check if the red exists at all and the result was positive - the red status entered and then I got the "!!!" message,but at the second that I accepting the message the red state turns into the orange state......
