Servlets :: Online Examination App
Jun 30, 2014I am trying to build a basic online exam app.But not able to find out how to do that.So user will log in , click on start exam That will be handled by servlet , servlet should call Model class that will fetch questions from database and make a list of those questions and return it to servlet.Than servlet will set that list as an attribute.
and redirect to jsp , which will have three buttons previous ,next ,finish.on clicking on finish I will call servlet wichich will calla model class which returns users score and then servlet redirects to result.jsp.Is this way is right ?
Java 64 Bit Won't Go Online
Jul 18, 2014I know I have a 64 bit OS, my computer, will simply not download the 64 bit version of java when I hit the big ol' red button on the main page. and yes, I have gone to the downloads page and downloaded the one that's 64 bit, but whenever I try to play games, it simply won't let me go online. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing seems to work.

Nov 2, 2014For a project I have to create an online survey, I cannot use a per-made online survey system because I have really specific needs that no pre-made system can satisfy, so my idea would be to create it in java and store the data in some simple text file, which are fairly easy to work with in java. My question is, is it possible, and if yes how difficult is it, to put the entire thing online? What worries me isn't putting the applet itself online, but the text files that should collect the data, I already have the website to host it.

Getting Images Online And Display On JPanel
Jan 18, 2014I want to be able to get an image online and display on my JPanel but for some reason my image wont load and just shows a blank square, but when I try to load an image from my hard drive it works just fine.

Military Time - Adding Minutes Displaying Correct Time
Feb 9, 2015I am working on an assignment that I can't seem to figure out the final part to. The program takes in course data such as the time the class starts and how long it lasts. The time is in military time (0000 - 2400)
I need the output time to be the time the class started, plus the length of the class, and displayed in military time.
for example,
Start Time = 0930
Length = 50 minutes
Endtime = 1020
I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have gotten a program that works for this time and minutes, and displays the correct 1020. But when I change the information to say
Start time: 0700
Length = 90 minutes
I get:
Endtime = 90
90 is technically correct, the way the formula is setup, but I need it to display 0900 not 90.
Here is the code that I have. Be easy, I'm still learning, and this is just the file I created to get the formula to work. Also, the verbose in here is just for my own debugging to make sure values should be what I'm expecting them to be.

My program runs but arraylist size increases everytime and same question get displayed repeatedly . i cant find the error. Everytime i run the program arraylist size increases. Jun 5, 2013I'm making a website with articles (like a blog). I have a webpage called admin.html where you insert the data of the article (title, post etc).
Admin.html calls to a servlet and this sends the information to a SQL Database and it stores and my index.jsp calls to database and show the articles.
This works perfect, and a non-programmer can insert new articles. The problem is that I need to create an .html file for every article/post and save it into my server online.
For example if I create "CoolArticle", I need the file "CoolArticle.html" and save it in my hosting.
How I can do it? I never have seen examples online, all were local, so I can't continue.

- Would you recommend I use a library? I hear google-gson is meant to be good?

Converting Military Time To Standard Time?
Jan 29, 2014I have two classes. time_runner is used for testing my code.
This is what I'm using to test my code:

The two constructors are "Time()", which is the default constructor that sets the time to 1200, and "Time(int h, int m)" Which says If h is between 1 and 23 inclusive, set the hour to h. Otherwise, set the hour to 0. If m is between 0 and 59 inclusive, set the minutes to m. Otherwise, set the minutes to 0. Those are my two constructors that I pretty much have down. The three methods however I'm having trouble with. The "String toString()" Returns the time as a String of length 4. The "String convert()" Returns the time as a String converted from military time to standard time. The "void increment()" Advances the time by one minute.

Sep 23, 2014Hello World program. We had to build it. Write a basic Java program that will implement one class to store a state of a project. The class should have one property to store a textual name of the state. When a object of this class is created the initial state should be "Open".
1) Class should have one method next() which will move the project to the next step in the sequence: Open - In progress - Closed.If next method is called for a project in the Closed state it should do nothing.
2) Class should have a method close() which will move the project into the Closed state.
3) Class should have a method print() that will output a current state of the project.

I have been working on this thing for almost a week, and really don't have a clue on what to do. I know I have to use a string = open, and I know I have to create an object. I don't have a clue on how to do this. I have read the chapter so many times, I almost memorized it, but what he wants is nothing like our demo in the book. the Book used set and get, and utility scanner, but he doesn't want any of that. Just a basic code that will move from Open --- in progress --- closed.
The best I can tell what he wants is when I set the object to open it will display " project is open", then when I set it to " in progress" it will read project is "in progress". I don't have a clue what close is suppose to do, or the print method.
