I have a webform on JSP page which has several parameters(strings and integers) values and a file to be uploaded to the server through a servlet. It is strange to see that i'm able to upload the file on to the server but not able to get the rest of the parameters in the servlet using request.getParameter("someString") .
import javax.servlet.*; import javax.servlet.http.*; import java.sql.*; import java.io.*; public class Test extends HttpServlet {
[Code] ....
This is the basic code structure and I'm trying to figure out this special case with handling the multiple parameters:
I don't want to use String []a=request.getParameterValues("studentname"); as hard code. The reason being the number of rows will be diyamic and I would like to get the column name and then then use an array of string to take values. But how can I connect these to form a query so that the rows goes on inserted one after other.
What's wrong ? I'm trying to send parameters in a link so I can get this parameter (an id) and get all the forum-threads that are relatives to this parameter. Because I can't set attributes in a link. Or can I ?
I have a question about an error I am getting when trying to pass a two dimensional array to a method. I keep getting the "incompatible types, int cannot be converted to int[][]". I am getting the error in a few different place (see comments - at the first call of the method, at a recursive call, and at the return statement. I believe I am passing the same type of array in all cases to the type of array defined in the method parameters.
Below is my code.
// this is a call from the main method int[][] c = new int[temp1.length][temp1.length]; c = MatrixMultiply(a,b); // this is first place the error occurs } // end main public static int MatrixMultiply(int[][] A, int[][] B) { // throw new UnsupportedOperationException("Not supported yet."); int a[][] = A;

I'm having problems with using the h:inputFile tag with JSF 2.2 and Glassfish 4.0 on Eclipse. The file uploads work when the enctype is set to "multipart/form-data" in the h:form tag, but AJAX will not work. When I leave out the encType (defaults to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded") AJAX works but the uploads do not work, and in fact Glassfish crashes and generates the message:
The request content-type is not a multipart/form-data
Likewise I'm having the same problems with the PrimeFaces file upload tag p:fileUpload. In a JSF 2.0 it works correctly, but with JSF 2.2 it's giving the same problems and generates the message above.
When I start up Eclipse it tells me that Mojarra 2.2.0 is installed. Is this the source of the problem, and if so, how do I install a later version of Mojarra?
I am new to the JMS technology. I have written one sample sender and receiver program to pass a string message to the JMS queue and retrieve it back. It is working fine as well. But now, I want to pass a xml file to the JMS queue. Then from there I need to read the XML file and convert it into a Java object Using Jaxb. I know how to convert an XML into java object using Jaxb. But i am unable to send the XML file as a jms message to the listener.
Suppose there're two classes: Exam and MainExam (contains a main method). class Exam has a constructor public Exam(String firstName, String lastName, int ID). Class MainExam reads data from a textfile. For example, the data can be: John Douglas 57. How can one pass data to the constructor from a textfile?
import java.util.Scanner; public class Exercise1{ public static void main(String[] args) { String employeeName, employeeNumber, position, department ; double otpay, salary, deduction, hrs, rate ; Scanner input = new Scanner (System.in);
[Code] ....
That's my codes but its wrong according to our prof. it should be in frame form. i don't know how to do it since i did not encountered framing since i was started in java.
I have a form containing several fields, 2 of which persist to different table in a database than the rest of the fields on the form. I have no problem persisting the data into both tables of the database, and after the form is submitted I reset the form to its default values. That all works fine.
But in the same session, when I open another form (a search form) and enter search criteria, which then displays a datatable containing the search results, those 2 values that are persisted to another table are not showing up, but the rest of the data is.
Here is the method that calls the persist methods:
@ManagedBean(name = "foreignPartyController") @SessionScoped public class ForeignPartyController implements Serializable { ... public void saveData() {
[Code].....
The values do show up, but the problem is, when a subsequent form is opened in the same session (e.g. a search form) the field for that value shows the actual value, instead of the field being blank.'
I am not sure why the data from the one database ("parent") is showing up, yet the data from the other database ("child") is not.
Is it something I am doing wrong? I thought by setting the setter in the child controller class back to a new instance of the Entity class (PolicyPayment) that it would reset the form to default values, but at the same time retain (or save) the inputted values in the same session.
I have a button on UI which adds messages and when the user clicks on it the form gets submitted, meanwhile the user is clicking on refresh(F5) multiple times which is causing the same message to be displayed multiple times. To resolve this , I am converting the form from a synchronous submit to Asychronous but it is still not working. Below is the code:
I had started a web project in java with eclipse.....The problem is I am unable to get a css file linked to the jsp page I have designed.... The following is my directory structure:
You are given a text. Write a program which outputs its lines according to the following rules:
If line length is ≤ 55 characters, print it without any changes. If the line length is > 55 characters, change it as follows: Trim the line to 40 characters. If there are spaces in the resulting string, trim it once again to the last space (the space should be trimmed too). Add a string... <Read More> to the end of the resulting string and print it.
I felt as if I did do what they were asking, but for some reason, I'm getting "Sorry, Unable to read file!"."Instead of using file, I did use the location of the file name".Also, I've attached a image of the input looks like and the output.
My CODE:
import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileReader; public class Main { public static void main (String[]args) { try{

I am trying to update and delete products from a JSP page but am having a hard time getting the code to work. I keep getting errors and my program won't run. My Index.jsp page works, but everything else is messed up. Below is my code.
index.jsp <%@page contentType="text/html" pageEncoding="windows-1252"%> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
In reference to the book "Head First Servlets and JSP, 2nd edition", chapter-3(), page-81, the command to compile the servlet file to the desired location is
(from the same directory as can be confirmed from the attachment of screenshot of error). this code is in accordance to the location of the respective files in my system, in particular the servlet-api.jar file.
After doing this, my computer is showing the error : file not found.
How do I resolve this? Actually, I don't understand completely what this code is trying to accomplish.
I have the file in my project sitemap.xml, which i am trying to write via XMLStreamWriter. My code gets successfully executed as i can see the logs. But my sitemap.xml file keeps blank. Why nothing is getting write in my sitemap.xml file. Below is my servlet code.
I have two images. I want to be able to click them and kick off a call to a listener in Java to change a value in the bean. I also want the view to update my dropdown (labeled "menuModel") to either be rendered or not, depending on which image I click. Alternatively, I would be fine with the dropdown simply being disabled and enabled for the same criteria.
So far, the listener kicks off fine, and the value gets updated correctly in the bean. However, the view never gets updated. I have tried this a hundred different ways, but nothing seems to work. If I hit refresh on my browser, the view updates. But I want it to do it automatically.
