I am working on a class project and I have to write the JUnit test for the GUI class ... what I did wrong ... Here is the code for the GUILauncher:
package edu.oakland.production; import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; public class GUILauncher{ public static void main(String[] args){ RetrieveWindow gui = new RetrieveWindow();
I'm facing a Problem with the JUnit Test for a Fibonacci rabbits sequence. The JUnit Test should test if the function dynFib(int x) completes the calucation in time. The time given is 100ms. The sequence I wanted to be printed is 0 1 1 2 3 4 6 8 11 15 and I got it but the calculation takes more than 100ms. How can I make it calculate faster without using a loop?
I want to do it recursively and dynamically, I kept trying lots of methods but they did not work.
This is my Code:
public class TestFib { private static int dynFib(int x, Integer[] array) { array = new Integer[x + 1]; if (x < 0) { throw new IllegalArgumentException();
I have JUnit exposure only in writing simple programs. Here I have one of the usecases requirement pupose I am generating data file(s) by Java programming and calling this data by Hashmap. My file containing two columns
(1) TimeStamp (2) Speed.
The file is tab formatted file. The business requirement is to check wether the first column should not be 00000000000000 or NULL or BLANK. My question is, how do I check the first field in a file contaning valid information in Junit test case?
I have wrote this class who read from text line by line and save the words in fileOnTable.. Now i don't know what to read in ReadOffer to save the words in object offers and return this.. One more question.. What JUnit test can write for this code..?
How do you test the events within an inner class using JUnit
// File: : events/SomePanel.java // Purpose: Show use of named inner class listener.
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.event.*; class SomePanel extends JPanel { private JButton myGreetingButton = new JButton("Hello"); private JTextField myGreetingField = new JTextField(20);
[Code] .....
Code extract taken from: Java: Inner-class Listeners
Taking the above example, do I need to use myGreetingButton.doClick to trigger this event to test the respective variables/values being used ? Also the Actionlistener inner classes is private so doubt I can access this from JUnit Test class.
I was doing coding exercise from a book ('OCP Java SE 6 - Practice Exams' by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates). I came to a question that told to demonstrate the difference between 'default' and 'protected' access rules by creating/making a directory structure and putting a couple of classes in different packages.
For this, I made a total of four classes, out of which, three classes are-Car, TestingCars, CarDimensions. (The fourth is not yet used in testing code till now, so, I am giving only the other three classes.) Their coding is given below.
Out of these classes, the classes- TestingCars and Car - are in a directory (say, FolderName). And, the class- CarDimensions is in FolderName's sub-folder.
The class 'CarDimensions' is public (and its components too are public). And, I am testing all the classes from the class- 'TestingCars'. But, this class (TestingCars) is not able to find the public class- 'CarDimensions' which is in its sub-folder and gives two 'Cannot find symbol' errors citing the class-CarDimensions. Also, If all three classes are put in one single directory, the programs work, without any error.
Coding: Class TestingCars:class TestingCars { public static void main(String[] args) { Car c = new Car(); c.setType("FourWheeler");
[Code]....
I could not find why the public class- CarDimensions- is not getting found by the TestingCars class.
I am working on a program that simulates a bug moving along a horizontal line, My code works correctly when I test it in it's own class but when I tried testing my constructor and methods in a test class I received an error saying, "package stinkBug does not exist" on lines with my methods. However, stinkbug is not a package.

I have a jar file.and i imported its classes to my program..
let say i have a code
source code is at /home/t_bmf/Java/src import firstjar.FirstJarPrint; public class TestJar { public static void main(String[] args) { //FirstJarPrint jar = new FirstJarPrint(); } }
well i have successfully compiled it using command below:
it means that i don't have any compilation error right?so all classes found properly.But whenever I run the program I always got this error:
java -cp /home/t_bmf/Java/lib/FirstJar/jar:. TestJar Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: firstjar/FirstJarPrint at TestJar.main(TestJar.java:6) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: firstjar.FirstJarPrint at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java: 202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.j ava:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:3 06) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launche r.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:2 47) ... 1 more
I think it has to be no error since i have compiled the program successfully right?if it really didn't find the class, then it must be a compilation error right?
is there something wrong with the way I execute the program?

I am validating an xml file using XQuery in Java using XQJ API. When the query is triggered it is giving the ClassNotFoundException for orai18n.text.OraCollator. I have placed the orai18n-collation.jar file in MANIFEST.MF file and it is loaded in to the class path.
Not sure on why it is giving the exception.
The JDK i am using JDK1.7 and application server is weblogic.
New to Java Swing. What I am trying to achieve here is to create an instance of the class used to populate the DefaultListModel when a JList item is selected. All examples I have seen show how to return the text displayed in the JList which really is of no practical use.
I have achieved what I want to achieve in that I am successfuly creating the selected object within my ListCellRenderer class.
For the purpose of testing I am using a call to the JOptionPane.showMessageDialog method to display the id of the selected object.
So, I launch the JFrame, the JList is populated, I select an item from the JList and the id value is displayed in the prompt. All this works fine except for one thing.
When I click OK on the JOptionPane.showMessageDialog prompt, the prompt disappears and reappears. The system seems to be in a loop. It is behaving as if the change or click event handler on the JList keeps firing.
This happens even without the creation of the object:
BookEntry be = (BookEntry)list.getModel().getElementAt(list.getSelectedIndex());
I have scoured the code and object properties to see if I can figure out where this behaviour is coming from without success.
All there is in the JFrame design view is a single JList with a variable name of "list". Everything else is in code as below:
Here is the .java code. Its not that complex
import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Component; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.JList; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; import javax.swing.ListCellRenderer; import javax.swing.DefaultListModel; public class NewJFrame3 extends javax.swing.JFrame {
So I'm learning java having been using c#. I based this code off an example from class. It compiles fine with no errors, but I'm getting this:
Which model do you want? + Standard,Electrum,CurveHilted, or Tonfa Standard Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Standard at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:366) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:355) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
I have written a java applet. Few months before It was working all fine but my client has some other requirements now and I have to edit it. I am getting two problems:
1. I could not execute it on my local computer as it always gives "your security settings have blocked a local application from running". I have edited the settings from Control Panel but it is then started giving permission error on including permission in manifest file it started giving trusted library error and still it is not resolved.
2. Can I know how to work with third party library with applets. I have imported the library and uses its few classes but when I tried to load applet it always give no class definition found error. I have some ways mentioned online like use comma separated names for all the jars but no luck so far.
I have make the immutable class as below, Now my question is how I can test if my this class/object is immutable
package com.learning; import java.util.*; import java.util.Map.Entry; public final class ImmutableTest { private final int id; private final String name; private final HashMap<String, String> hm ;
[Code]...
How I can Test If it is immutable class without looking ?
How do you test a default constructor in one class and then test it in a different class? This is the code for the Person class which has the default constructor. I'm not sure in the PersonTester class how to access this default constructor and how to test it - what I have so far for the second class is also below.
class Person { // Data Members private String name; // The name of this person private int age; // The age of this person private char gender; // The gender of this person
I had to write a class called Thermometer, that has one instance variable (an integer) for the temperature in Fahrenheit. I had to include the following methods
-a constructor that initializes the temperature to 60
-there is a method to change the temperature
-there is a method to display the temperature
-there is a method to reset the teperature to 60
Here is the code for that.
public class Thermometer { private int temp; private int thermometer; public Thermometer() { thermometer = 60;
[code]....
Now I get to the issue. I have to write a test class called thermometer to test the thermometer class. I need to test each method while displaying the temperature after it. My professor said I should use the invoke method but didn't go into much more detail than that.
User-defined classes. The concept of getters and setters goes right over my head. Right now we're to write a program to test the Person class below. We have to create 2 instances of the class to test each constructor, and test each method.
class Person { // Data Members private String name; // The name of this person private int age; // The age of this person private char gender; // The gender of this person // Default constructor public Person() { this("Not Given", 0, 'U');
[code]....
then my output will print out the name. But the assignment doesn't tell us to modify the Person class at all, just to create a tester one.
I am to create a Array class then create a Driver class (TestArray) to test all the methods in the Array Class. Here's the code i've written for the Array Class. I just nee developing the TestArray class.
import java.util.Scanner; public class Array { Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in); private double[] array = new double[]; public void setArray(double[] arr) {
I have data base connection which i have configured via a listener class i configured properly in DD but still i am not able to deploy the project and server log show that startL.java listener class was not found why is this so as config is proper with the name
How do I use two constructors and I'm having trouble with using char for gender...
Write a program to test the Person class defined below. Your test program should create two instances of the class (each to test a different constructor) and test each of the methods. You are also required to illustrate the error in trying to access private data members from the client class (for clarity temporarily change the private modifier to public and test again). See screenshots below for sample output.
The screen shots are displayed as:
p1 name = Not Given Age = 0 Gender = U p2 name = Jane Doe Age = 0 Gender = F p1 name = John Doe Age = 25 Gender = M
and
PersonTester.jave:20: name has private access in Person System.out.println("p2 name = " + p2.name + "Age = " + p2.age + "Gender = " + p2.gender); PersonTester.jave:20: age has private access in Person System.out.println("p2 name = " + p2.name + "Age = " + p2.age + "Gender = " + p2.gender); PersonTester.jave:20: gender has private access in Person System.out.println("p2 name = " + p2.name + "Age = " + p2.age + "Gender = " + p2.gender);
3 errors
Here is the class given :
class Person { // Data Members private String name; // The name of this person private int age; // The age of this person private char gender; // The gender of this person
I am currently trying to use Junit to test a whole bunch of stuff. I almost have full line coverage but I am getting hung up on testing an if statement that consists of whether or not an object is an instance of another class. This class happens to be an interface, and even the object is an interface. Weird I know but I just want to know how to get into that if statement. I realize testing interfaces might be a waste of time but I still really want to know how. Here is an example of what I am trying to test:
Java Code:
if(x instance of y){ //where x and y are both interface objects doSomething(); } mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
