Jar Files Not Executing / Running Under Windows 8.1
Dec 14, 2014
I've just installed the last Java kit JDK plus netbeans and I've done my first project in Java. It is running perfect from command line<but is is difficult to execute each time from there my tests> but I couldn't run the jar file from windows with double click he jar file even I've spent 3 hour on google to find different methods (registry modifying, control panel/program running in windows, a patch file etc, ) ....
At our company we run a third-party Java-based GUI application on one of our Linux server machine, displaying the application to our local Windows work stations using the Cygwin X Server.We noticed a few problems with a new version of this application and was able to narrow it down to the following conditions:
1. Java Swing application running on a UNIX host; 2. Java used is 1.6 (problem not noticed when using Java 1.5) 3. Displaying to Cygwin X server (I've heard other windows-based X servers have the same issue, but I don't have access to any others at this time).
If we run the application natively on Windows, I'm told if the application runs on the Linux host and displays natively to that machine's display there are no problems (although I'm not able to verify this myself).The problems are:
1. Any new frame/dialog is opened in the geographic center of the dual displays, rather than in the middle of one or the other; 2. Any attempt to drag the window to a different location on the display seems to work, but as soon as you let go of the drag, the window snaps back to the original location. This only happens the first time you try to move each window. 3. Drop-down controls (JComboBox, for example) just close back up as soon as you click on them. If you click and drag the mouse to attempt to make a selection, no selection can be made.
Are these known problems using 1.6 on UNIX displaying to Windows-based X Servers?
The only real problem is number 3. I expect that if I put more work into the window placement, I should be able to get past number 1. Number 2 is just a minor annoyance.The following is a simple Java Swing application which when run in the correct environment will exhibit the problems.
I have an embedded browser in a standalone java app running on windows. The browser calls up web pages over the internet with no problem.
import org.eclipse.swt.browser.Browser; final Browser browser = new Browser(group01, SWT.NONE); browser.setBounds(0, 0, 1000, 400); browser.setVisible(true); browser.pack(); browser.setUrl(texturl.getText());
I have a C executable which captures and documents network traffic. I communicate with it by entering http://27.0.0.1:6500 into any browser (it works with them all). It responds with a simple html form (three buttons, a tick box, a label, and one text box).However I cannot get it to work with the embedded SWT browser.
I need to activate the setting 'Keep temporary files on my computer' (Java control panel/general/settings) on about 150 Windows 7 PCs in a Samba3-Environment (which does not have GPOs). We are running Java Version 8 Update 45 (build 1.8.0_45-b14) on all of the PCs. Is there a way to change this setting with the command line, a registry entry or somehow else?
I have a program that is a XML-parser, and it works fine when I'm running it from NetBeans. But when I create a JAR-file and run the very same program, it cannot find the xml file. Consider this small program that addresses my problem:
I am working my way through "Head First Java" and typing the code in the book into Notepad++ as I go. In the first few chapters the code was simple and only had one class (main). Now the code has two or more classes. Originally I would compile the code in the Command Window by typing "javac" and the program's name. After it compiled I would execute the program by typing "java -classpath . " and the program's name. However, now when program has several classes I get the following error: Could not find or load main class. Below is a program I am having issues with... does it need to be saved as two separate files?
class DogTestDrive { public static void main (String [] args) { Dog one = new Dog(); one.size = 70; Dog two = new Dog(); two.size = 8;
I am not necessarily 'new' to java, however I have always used NetBeans so I am not entirely sure how to do what I need with the terminal commands. I am trying to execute a java jar file(which works perfectly on windows) on the Raspberri Pi, essentially debian linux.
As I mentioned previously, I have a java jar file which I can execute on windows, but it depends on three other libraries, namely RXTX, MySQL, and JSON. I am not positive how to compile this into a jar, or execute it in debian.
This was how I attempted to load two of those libraries, however the last line is the error I received.
Error: Could not find or load main class Automation_System.core.HAS
Specifically, the problem seems to be that I cannot use the -cp flag to indicate classpaths, and the -jar flag indicating I am executing a jar in the same command. I am not sure how to point the compiler to my main class HAS in the core package of the jar, and also to the libraries referenced.
I'm trying to make a statement of elapsed time print out after I've executed everything with a ThreadPoolExecutor. What happens is that instead of printing out after all the iterations within the for each loop are done, it prints out the elapsed statement in the middle of the iterations or even in the beginning of the whole execute() method. Here is my code:
package com.atem; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import java.util.concurrent.Executors; import java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor; public final class Example {
I have been writing some loops for some days now. I'm just unable to predict the output for the following different piece of code even though I wrote 'em
public class Numbers { public static void main(String[] args) { int numbers[] = {1, 2, 3, 20, 80, 200}; for(int i = 0; i < numbers.length; i++) { System.out.println(numbers[i++] = 5); } } }
I need to execute a perl file from a resource folder, So that i can able to run the perl file after changing the project to a jar file. And also i need to pass an argument also.
I am validating an xml file using XQuery in Java using XQJ API. When the query is triggered it is giving the ClassNotFoundException for orai18n.text.OraCollator. I have placed the orai18n-collation.jar file in MANIFEST.MF file and it is loaded in to the class path.
Not sure on why it is giving the exception.
The JDK i am using JDK1.7 and application server is weblogic.
When a thread completes its execution, it will be destroyed.In Java thread pool implemenation, how does threads come back to ready state after executing the task.?
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx10g -XX:MaxPermSize=10g
can get the values for 1.0
java.net.UnknownHostException: home at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(PlainSocketImpl.j ava:195) at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(SocksSocketImpl.j ava:366) at java.net.Socket.connect(Socket.java:529) at java.net.Socket.connect(Socket.java:478)
In a program I created, I'm using a text file that contains some texts needed for the program. The method relevant to this is something like the following.
private String wordgen(){ try { BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("src/Resources/adjectives.txt")); Random rand = new Random(); int low = rand.nextInt(400); String fil=""; int i=0; while(i!=low){
[Code]...
The program runs fine in netbeans project but once the jar is created it does not corporate with the text file. ("null" is returned) How can I attach text files to jar and exe?
I need to transformation the txt files into xml files, but each row txt files don't have same elements, for example the first book is composite one author
i am using a frame over which i am loading a dialog. The singleton dialog holds a progress bar. I have created my own swing worker. i am controlling the construct method of swing worker(which functions like doInBackground method).I am trying to call hidedialog from an external file. The dialog gets stuck sometimes. How do i solve it . It works fine on win7 but fails on win8.
I've just got a new computer and i tried to set the class path the way i did with windows xp but it's not working. This is what i have done. I added a Path variable to user variables and added C: Program Files (x86)Javajdk1.6.0_20/bin as the variable value. But when i got to command prompt and type javac HelloWorld.java it just tells me javac is not recognised as an internal or external command.
Also another problem is after trying this and it not working i tried to add a path to the system variables. I added a new path variable but i think once i did that it deleted the one that was already there. Is that going to mess up my computer? What the default path variable for windows 7 is?i've got the right destination as i typed cd to change directory and when i typed C: Program Files (x86)Javajdk1.6.0_20/bin it changed to that. And i noticed if i typed in the destination wrong its just made an error.
Cannot reinstall java on this windows xp. Get an error -1 and install didn't complete. There are no java versions installed and apparently no java control panel either.
I have a game which is very simple: it is two images, and one needs to reach the other. Once it does, it resets. I have a class which holds the two images, and another which holds the game. My images class extends my game class. The problem I am having is that when I run the program, not one, but two frames appear. One is the perfect game, working perfectly, and the other is the game without images. I want the one that is the game without images to simply stop appearing. I believe it is appearing because my class that displays the image is extending the game class, but I can't not extend it because if I do I get a whole lot of bugs and errors.
I want to create a Web page which can monitor and display the status of Schedule Tasks setup on different remote machine. This Dashboard should also has the capability to re-run the schedule task.
I know that I can achieve this via Runtime class by running schtasks /Query and get all the details. But I just wanted to know if we have any other better way to do this.
