My problem i didn't find documentation in java for connecting with this device.
I want lo list all the devices connected to my network, I done like this

Yesterday, I established a connection with oracle 12c, codes is here:

where "c##mytest/myt" is username and password. It worked well.
But, today, "IO Error:The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" appeared when I tried to run my program again.
I changed //myhost into 127.0.0.1, it worked again.(Before I did this, I checked lsnrctl and regedit and firewall....., no difference)
Here is my question:
1) What happens between //myhost to 127.0.0.1, hostname cannot be use to JDBC? If yes, how?
Besides, I have some other questions:
2) How import a *.dmp file which exported from 10g into 12c?
3)If I need upgrade 10g to 12c, what shall I do?
I am trying to connect a remote machine but I can't. There is a shared folder in the remote machine, when I write the path to file browser in local machine, it does not find the path specified. Both machines have successful network condition and ping each other. Also, the shared folder is opened to everyone, there should not be a permission problem, right?
View Replies View RelatedI have a requirement where I have to send a file from a local system to unix box(present on client side) using java code.I have developed a code that is successfully sending the file from local system to client side unix box (I am connecting to client side unix box using VPN) provided I run the code in my eclipse IDE present in local system. But when I am running the same code in the unix box it is throwing null pointer exception.Might be the unix system is not recognising the local system. Please find the code.

Now, I have got a comment saying I should get the database connection from connection pool. And one more issue is that I have used the function System.getProperty("user.name") to get the username which i have logged in. But this code will be run on Unix which will not support this function. Any function where I can get the windows username. There is a function getUserPrincipal(), but this function returns a NULL. How to resolve this.
I configured a connection pool in tomcat 7. For every database activity I get a connection from the pool. Do I have to close the connection like other regular connection after the database operation is done? If I close the connection will it have any effect on the connection pool?

My superclass is a Soda class, and I'm making subclasses like "Orange soda", "Coke", etc. My first question is, what is the point of the subclass inheriting the instance variables of the superclass? If you have to define them again is there any point in the super class having them? Here is an example of this:

Besides not having to write the vendSoda() method again, what is the benefit of inheritance in a situation like this if you have to define all variables again? My second question is, how could I store all of the code strings from all of the different subclasses in one place? I developed a Java application and it works fine on my computer, but when i tried it on another computers, I have the following errors :

From java running on Windows, I need to access a file on a remote Ubuntu machine. I use the following:

I have a shop and I use visual studio.net to create an Inventory application to manage my shop. So I am familiar with vb.net codes.
Now, I'm trying to built another Inventory application for my shop using java, 'coz now I'm using Linux Ubuntu for my OS desktop and there's no visual studio.net in linux.
So in vb.net, there's a module that I use for database connection that I can call from any form that I needed.
I searched google for the equivalent module for java and there is none. But, there's an example that use a new java class.

I'm trying to install java_ee_sdk-6u3-jdk7-windows-x64.exe on our new Windows Server 2012 machine but the installer starts and I then get a Setup box appear that says Error: The Java(TM) Virtual Machine has aborted. I've looked in the Event Viewer and there are no messages and I've tried to get the installer to create a log file (by passing the parameter -l <loglocation>) but it doesn't seem to get that far as no log is created.
The very first time I tried to run the JavaEE install on this machine, it installed everything ok but didn't create the windows service as .NET Framework 3.5 was missing. So I uninstalled JavaEE and added in the .NET Framework 3.5 and then my problems began. I have already installed these versions of Java and JavaEE successfully on a previous Windows Server 2012 machine which had the .NET Framework 3.5 on it.
The JRE installed already on the computer is jre-6u45-windows-x64.exe and I am logged in as an administrator. I've tried uninstalling the JRE and reinstalling and also doing a registry clean using CCleaner incase there are any old references to the JRE/JavaEE but it didn't work.
I am trying to use a custom listener to initialize database connection pool (C3P0) on start up and then destroy on context shut down. The reason for that is that I whenever context is shutdown I have a memory leak because initialized connection pool is not being destroyed.
