Java GUI - Adding Text Field And Label

I just want to add a text field and a label next to it that says "Hourly Wage".
Also, when I run this in Xcode, it reports back with "Shell Script Invocation Error" "Command usr/bin/java failed with exit code 1".
Here's my program:

I want to display a new panel with a text field and a label in it, and add the text from that textfield to an array list each time i press enter. here is what i am trying to do:

I created a jsf page inside my ADF project. Inside I have a button and a text field. If i press button my servlet is activated. It returns a jasper report in pdf format. Now I would like to display my text field value as a jasper report parameter. So this is a part I don't know how to do. How do I get a value of my text field inside servlet? After this I know how to pass it to report.

I have a textField in which I have text in. The text is enter customer name. I would like for this text to disappear whenever the user clicks on the textField to enter a customer name. I am using the automated swing gui builder in NetBeans. Is their some sort of feature for this under properties of the text field? If not then what are my other options?

why this code doesnt work? Its suppose to be a simple frame with a button that puts text to the frame when u click it. The problem is actionPerformed method, when it tries to call the stuff inside the constructor it all goes wrong. I switched the method body with a system.out.println() and it all works fine.

I want to set an html text on al label, but also call a method.
I tried:

But the naamSpeler.laatKaartenZien(), which returns a string, doesn't show on the label. Is there a way to call a method and use a html text on a label?

I am developing a java swing application. In which i want to set a different text to a label in same program ( in single JFrame). I dont want to use another JFrame instead i want to use setText method of java and set different text to a label at different intervals of time according to my need.
I am using java 1.7 sdk and pupy linux as OS. Below i am giving source code.
What i am doing is in constructor of class i am setting an image to JFrame and setting text "Welcom...". And when user clicks on this JFrame a method is called which will clear the text "Welcome.." and sets new text to another label "Enter...." and from there another method is called and it clears label "Enter..." and sets a text "Plzz wait..". and yet there are more methods, i havnt provided here.
But what is happening is it shows welcome text and then directly Plzz wait..
Its not showing text Enter... because control is finished after last method gets executed.
My concern is i want to show all the setText (my messages) in a sequence. Without using another JFrame. There is no any user input other than user will click on first welcome page.

Switching from Swing to JFX 8, I am trying to find out how to do something I would normally do in a super-simple ListCellRenderer, i.e. customize the String displayed for an item. I tried this:

However, when I do this, the customized String is not used for the selected Item (rather the standard toString() value of the item). Apart from that it is no longer selectable using the mouse (I submitted a bug report for this at [URL] .... but that is not really the point of my question.
Anything else I have to do to make sure the selected item is also rendered using the custom cell or is there a different mechanism for this?

i need to develop a java program in which it will ask the user "Username" and "Password" and by which it will login to a wesite.
I have developed a GUI in which the username should be entered in the User "JTextfield" and Password in Password "JPasswordField". I need to make sure that password should not be displayed in the GUI. but I didnt find a way to parse the string (char) entered in the "JPasswordField" to the website.
It is always passing a 'null' character! I tried to search in internet and i found that it wont be able to pass the passwordfield characters but you will be able to check in the main function itself by comparing with another char array in the main program itself whether the password entered is correct or not.
Is there any alternate way for this?
Objective : Parse the password (which is not displayed in the GUI) to a website or some other function where it will use it

I have a question about JTextArea colors. When i set the color to blue and then write something on the JTextArea (JTextArea.append) and then set it back to black everything will be black. How can i solve that? Like in Notepad++ or Eclipse when you write keywords in a JTextArea (where you write your code) only some words change color.

So basically I have this alpha.dat file which stores data submitted when I execute the alpha class and here I have a AWT textfield which reads a password from user. I have another class called beta and I have another AWT textfield in it which also reads the same password from user. How do I compare both passwords?(I know I need both classes to refer to alpha.dat but how do I compare both textfields in different classes)

I try to bind the text-property of a selected cell of a TreeView to a label. So if the user click on a cell in the treeview the label should show the cell text. I want to use this class and method with all of my buttons and text fields. My program contains 1 push button that adds questions and answers to a test, 2nd button that starts a test, a 3rd button that scores the test, and a text field that enters the user information. How would this work? I know how to create questions and answers, start a test, and score a test it's just a matter of how to implement the button and text fields. I'll post the code that I have done so far.
