Java Servlet :: Reverse Proxy For Web Application

May 24, 2013

The users of our a enterprise Java based web application must access a third web application through simple HTML links and then navigate in the target application. But for security reasons and constraints the direct exchange between the browers of users and server of the other web application is not allowed. Our web application must retrieve the web page from the other application and must return it to the users's browser. Is there a convenient way to implement this requirement in J2EE ? In this case our web application must play the role of a simple reverse proxy, must request a target JSP page from other application and process it to rewrite the URLs contained in the HTML page, then send the response to user's web browser.

Java Array Update Without Using ArrayList - Add Values And Update Size?

Feb 9, 2015

I am trying to create an array list without using the built in arrayList class that java has. I need to start the array being empty with a length of 5. I then add objects to the array. I want to check if the array is full and if not add a value to the next empty space. Once the array is full I then need to create a second array that starts empty and with the length of the first array + 1.

The contents of the first array are then copied into the new array without using the built in copy classes java has and then the new array ends up containing 5 elements and one null space the first time round. The first array is then overwritten with the new array containing the 5 elements and the null space. The process then starts again adding values until the array is full which will be 1 more value then recreating the second array empty and the length of the first array + 1. This is my attempt at creating this but I have run into multiple problems where I get only the last value I added and the rest of the values are null:

public class MyArrayList {
public Object arrayList[];
public MyArrayList(Object[] arrayList) {
this.arrayList = arrayList;

Auto Click And Auto Populate Data

Sep 26, 2014

I am working on a project named as "Auto Click and Populate". This is link is like online feedback form / surveys which we program. I have a link with me which is mentioned below and there will be a counter box which will hit the link that much number of times.

Inputs:

-A text box having this link.
-A numeric box having counter number i.e. the number of times the link should be processed.
-A button named as process which will INITIATE the process.

Now say if I input 10 into the numeric box; the attached file contain link should be processed 10 times and the question which is coming on the link should be answered randomly out of the options which are present. For ex: When you will hit a link; the first question will be gender in that 3 options are present "Male", "Female" and "Prefer not to answer"; either of 1 out of 3 should be punched automatically and proceed automatically ahead. The punch(es) will be stored in database which is maintained at my end.I have done research and till now found the code for auto click only and not for auto process.

Swing/AWT/SWT :: Java Stop JScrollPane Auto Scrolling Back To The Top When JTextArea Updated

Feb 7, 2014

I have a swing application that gets football scores from a website using Jsoup.

When the "Get Scores" button is pressed, the scores are printed to a JTextArea with a JScrollPane.

I have also used a SwingWorker to update the scores every couple of seconds.

My problem is that every time the JTextArea updates, the JScrollPane scrolls back to the top of the text area. I wan the scroll bar to stay where the user left it.

Here is my code (The update is currently set to update every 1 second so you can see what the scroll bar is like).

Swing/AWT/SWT :: How To Update Image In Java GUI

Jul 10, 2014

I have a GUI with several buttons and I'm using NetBeans GUI Builder to do. At the click of one of these I would like for it to open another frame containing a picture. So I associate a listener (actionPerformed) the button and when clicked it opens actually post the new frame.

In the new frame I waxed a JLabel and then I associate the image of the label. I saw that to do that NetBeans generates this code:

label.setIcon(new javax.swing.ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("/img/tree.png")));

My problem is that the picture is overwritten several times during the execution of the program is not changed yet in the frame. That is, in the new frame is always displayed an old version of the image.

I have an image that is created every time I click on the button (it always has the same name and same path). Basically I have a generic tree on which I perform the operations (add, remove, etc..). When I click on the button I call a method that generates the image of the tree (using Graphviz). So I have one image that changes over the time...

How can I do so that the image is always up to date?

The Code:

package View;
import javax.swing.Icon;
import javax.swing.ImageIcon;
import javax.swing.JLabel;
public class AlberoIpotesi extends javax.swing.JFrame {

How To Use Single Button To Insert And Update In Java While Using MySQL Database

Oct 29, 2014

I am developing my first Java application and the database I use is MySQL. I have created two separate buttons; one to insert new data into my database and the other to update the database when changes are made.

Each button is working perfectly, but I now want to combine both functions into just the save button. Thus, whether I am entering new data or modifying existing data, the save button should use an IF ELSE condition to decide whether to use the INSERT or UPDATE command.

My problem is, how do I write this IF ELSE statement? What should be the condition? For example;

IF(what? ){
  String sql ="Insert into Table1 (classID,className,counselorID,startDate,endDate) values (?,?,?,?,?)";
  }ELSE{
  String sql2 = "update Table1 set classID = '"+value1+"',className='"+value2+"',counselorID='"+value3+"',startDate='"+value4+"',endDate='"+value5+"'
where classID = '"+value1+"'";
}

Sync Block In Java - Servlet

Dec 23, 2014

Modify the program in Assign4 to synchronize access to the instance variable, balance. Save the program as SyncBank.java. Because balance is a double and not an object, it cannot be used as the monitor. Use synchronized methods or synchronized blocks of code as appropriate. Simultaneously test two threads as was done in Assign4. Because the threads can complete too quickly to determine if they are interfering with each other, delay the adding of a deposit by inserting the following code within the synchronized block or method:

try {
Thread.currentThread().sleep(10000); //sleep for milliseconds
}
catch(InterruptedException e) {
}

My code attempt so far:

Java Servlet :: What Determines Where Jar Files Get Placed In WAR

Apr 6, 2013

Using Eclipse I have imported a WAR with source. I have exported that project as a new war and it ran fine. I then added my own package and exported the war again. The jar file does not show up in /WEB-INF/lib folder. When I deploy the war on a tomcat server it barfs the following error:

Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.CannotLoadBeanClassException: Cannot find class [com.sharpline.fields.form.fields.TextAreaFormType] for bean with name 'com.sharpline.fields.form.fields.TextAreaFormType#53c37' defined in ServletContext resource [WEB-INF/activiti-standalone-context.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:

Jul 29, 2012

using HttpServlet methods. What I want to do is to delay an HttpServletResponse. I set up some response.setHeader but then I want to wait a while after setting other values as the length of data to send and the content itself.

I tried to do that in 2 ways:

1. by using Thread.sleep() - in this case even with sleep of 100 ms the response seems to be lost.

2. by response.wait(TIME) - in this case it will never reach the block after wait, whatever TIME value I use.

Unable To Compile Servlet Java File

Jan 20, 2015

on my computer, i have configured the environment variables as

CATALINA_HOME : D:apache-tomcat-8.0.9-windows-x64apache-tomcat-8.0.9;
CLASSPATH : D:apache-tomcat-8.0.9-windows-x64apache-tomcat-8.0.9libservlet-api.jar;D:apache-tomcat-8.0.9-windows-x64apache-tomcat-8.0.9libjsp-api.jar;.;
JAVA_HOME : C:Program FilesJavajdk1.8.0_05
path : D:apache-tomcat-8.0.9-windows-x64apache-tomcat-8.0.9in

In reference to the book "Head First Servlets and JSP, 2nd edition", chapter-3(), page-81, the command to compile the servlet file to the desired location is

javac -classpath UsersertApplications2 omcatcommonlibservlet-api.jar:classes:. -d classes src/com/example/web/BeerSelect.java (from the Myprojects/beer-V1 directory)

Whereas I have written

javac -classpath D:apache-tomcat-8.0.9-windows-x64apache-tomcat-8.0.9libservlet-api.jar;classes;. -d classes src/com/example/web/BeerSelect.java

(from the same directory as can be confirmed from the attachment of screenshot of error). this code is in accordance to the location of the respective files in my system, in particular the servlet-api.jar file.

After doing this, my computer is showing the error : file not found.

How do I resolve this? Actually, I don't understand completely what this code is trying to accomplish.
