Is it possible to get data directly from request object in service method of servlet than why it is not possible to write directly into response object through service method instead of this we have to take PrintWriter or ServletOutputStream class object....

View Replies View RelatedHaving with LSL and JSF working together? The only thing I have gotten to work with LSL is PHP, and I know I could get JSP working with it with a little research. However, I rather not mix them on my server.
The only requirement for LSL to work with it is there needs be a custom page that can handle get and post request directly. I have not done this with JSF yet so I'm wondering how that would look.
I am using saveToken(request) and isTokenValid(request) to stop duplicate request. But while checking isTokenValid(request), it always returns false.

I need to implement Oauth2 with facebook to get authencation. I tried to write a servlet with the method Service, and i got the code thah i have to use in a second request.
Now i need to send a request at this URL :

and wait for a responce with an URL that have the access_token to use with facebook

Is it Possible in a single Servlet after i receive the "code" to send a second request to the URL in 1 and get the response with URL in 2 to retrieve the access_token?? if yes....how??

View Replies View RelatedI have a situation to load data while JSF page loads. Also have a filter which populates user information from http request.
I was expecting the filter first to populate the user information and in the managed bean get method to verify the user information and get the data (from database). But in this case i see the managed bean get method is invoked before filter populates user information and i get null pointer exception because the user information is null.
I had to work around to get the user information from FacesContext in the managed bean get method because the user information wasn't available. Is there a way to make sure the filter is invoked first?
I have been trying to implement custom request method in HTTP header while posting my data to the server URL. My application specific URL accepts -X parameter and -d for the data and it is mandatory for that url. Basically I am trying to dump JSON data into my influx DB using CURL command which is working fine from the shell. But the issue is, if I am implementing the same in java with proper approach, it is not supported or working. My CURL command is :

How can I implement the same in java using HttpUrlConnection or other available approach?

View Replies View RelatedI have a jsp with an img tag whose src is set to request a servlet to display a chart. This is called from another jsp form where user can select various filters. The first time the request is made all works great. but if the user changes the filter settings and and makes the servlet request a second time the chart stays the same. I have verified the new filter values are being set but the servlet is only being called on the initial request.at the head or called servlet I have(I also call a jquery empty on the div that holds the chart between requests. at the moment it just displays the former chart). It is like it is using cache:

View Replies View RelatedXML request message using HTTP POST is received by the Servlet interface. While we are reading and trying to parse the InputStreamObject, we are getting the following error message.
doPost java.io.CharConversionException: Characters larger than 4 bytes are not supported: byte 0x8e implies a length of more than 4 bytes
It looks like we are receiving some invalid Non-ASCII characters in the XML message.
The above error is thrown intermittently. Whenever we have this CharConversionException, the servlet gets corrupted and it impacts few good xml messages that follows after the error.
I need to know the following:
1. How to fix this exception and skip the bad message?
2. Is it possible to log the entire xml message in the catch block, whenever we have this exception?
NOTE: we tried different ways, not able to print the xml message, as the inputstream seems to be closed/null, when it reaches the catch block.
Tried the below code , but the servlet process/thread hungs and throws the below error:

We have two servlets application running on same server with Java EE 6 with below mention application URL.

View Replies View RelatedI created the WSDL first in RSA and then created the java bean skelaton from the WSDL. There are a couple of dateTime fields in the WSDL that are created as GregorianCalendar objects.
When I test with SOAPui and the date fields are passed correctly, everything works great. But when there is an invalid date format or anything else in the SOAP request, instead of returning a Conversion exception or some other validation exception, the field is passed as a null to the request object in the SOAP IMPL. Should't this return an exception?
