I am trying to insert a record to a table in my database . I used the same syntax for 2 tables, one does work and the other does not work . I could not find any explanation for this error
"INSERT INTO CustomerRecord (Name, Number, Adress)" +" VALUES(?,?,?)"; //first table working well ps.setString(1,r.getCustomerName()); ps.setString(2,r.getCustomerNumber());
[Code] ....
For some reason one does work but the other does not work it says syntax error near order (table name). I am using sqlite db ...
This is what i have so far, I use BlueJay to write this:
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class payroll { String again = y; // private String name; private double rate; private double hours; static double gross; //gross pay
[code]....
my first problem is that it expects a ")" on this line :"if ((hours <=40)rate *1);"For the assignment itself these are the requirements:
-Create a class called payroll with private variables for rate hours and name
-Create static variables for gross pay, union dues, health coverage (hp in my case), FICA taxes, State taxes, Federal taxes, net pay, all must be initialized to 0
-default constructor that assigns default values
a function called calcPay that will do the following tasks and print it to a pay stub :
- function that checks the hours ( if hours are 40 or less pay rate, if over 40 pay 150% of the rate) - calculates gross pay before any deductions (using user inputted hours and rate) - deduct medical coverage and union dues from gross pay and call this adjusted gross pay (also this should have its own line on the paystub) - A function that deducts State, federal and fica taxes from adjusted gross - FICA - 7% for any income -Federal - 2% for $0-$150 / 6% for 150.01 - 300 / 14% for 300.01 - 600 / 18% for 600.01 - unlimited -State - 1% for 0-150/ 3% 150.01 - 300 / 5% 300.01 - 600/ 8% 600.01 - unlimited - amount after all deductions is the net pay ( show this amount on its own line) - Start a loop that asks each time if there are more employees (y/n) y should continue the program and n should end it -dialog boxes should be created to recieve values for name, hours and rate - if the rate is entered below $8 dollars a new box should pop up and ask for a higher value - When there are no more employees, print out a summary of quantities stored in static variable (also had a problem with this) - End
So I think i completed most of these objectives but am having trouble with the syntax and some of the objectives
My if else statement is not working...it keeps telling me that the else in the statement is a syntax error and that I should remove it. Whats wrong with it?
package Homework2; import java.util.Scanner; public class Homework2 { public static void main(String[] args) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub System.out.println("Welcome to the Triangle Program.");
You are given 2 files - "testcase.txt" and "validwords.txt".In testcase.txt, the sentences are written without any space inbetween/for ex: this is a sentence which looks ambigous.You are to insert a space at the proper place by breaking the sentence into correct words, ex o/p: this is a sentence which looks ambigous.validwords.txt contains all valid words (as 1 word per line). If you find a word that does not match, replace it with ####. After correcting
I am trying to add a while loop into my switch statement. If you run the program, it will ask to enter the class grade (9,10,11, or 12). If you insert 5, it will say to try again. But, if you enter a wrong number twice, it will continue on to the next part of the program, which is asking how many students are in the class. Therefore, I believe a while loop would work, but it is not working at all. The program still runs, just doesn't fix the error. The program is below:
import java.util.Scanner; public class stephProject { public static void main(String[] args) { //call method welcomeMessage(); //method 1 of 3
1: 3D space. How do i define the space where i will make my world? Is there a certain point that i will define as 0,0,0 or is there some other way.
2: Camera positioning. When i have the 3D space, how to i make it so that the camera will show that what i want it to show. Lets say il define its lokatios 30,50,100 and direction is NW, then how to i make it so that is see the SW direction from the point 30,50,100?
I am not a java developer, but I am using a java code that was available online to convert a large XML file to CSV file. The input file size is big, it is around 3GB. I got an error that it is out of memory, it is expectedly due to the large input file that i am trying to convert. Splitting of this file is not possible,
This is what I ran : xml2csv-conv data.xml data.csv

My task is to implement a B-Tree data structure in Java using no libraries.
My current problem is inserting when the root is full, thus the middle key goes to root.keys[0] and then it get the left and right side which are new Nodes separating and inserting their keys. My problem is that for some reason there is a random second number when in the root and secondly my boolean leaf is always false meaning it never detects that the Tree is deeper than root.
The coding makes sense to me and I have tried printing everywhere but still can't seem to find the problem.
public class BTree { /* 1. You may not modify the public interface of this class. You may however add any additional methods and/or field which you may require to aid you in the completion of this assignment.
2. You will have to design and implement a Node class. The BTree should house Integer objects.
3. You will notice that there are some overloaded methods, some of which work for Integer objects and some with primitive type int. You have to find a way to implement the methods to work with both types. */
class BTreeNode { boolean leaf = true; int numKeys = 1; int mOrder; Integer keys[];

I am developing my first Java application and the database I use is MySQL. I have created two separate buttons; one to insert new data into my database and the other to update the database when changes are made.
Each button is working perfectly, but I now want to combine both functions into just the save button. Thus, whether I am entering new data or modifying existing data, the save button should use an IF ELSE condition to decide whether to use the INSERT or UPDATE command.
My problem is, how do I write this IF ELSE statement? What should be the condition? For example;
IF(what? ){ String sql ="Insert into Table1 (classID,className,counselorID,startDate,endDate) values (?,?,?,?,?)"; }ELSE{ String sql2 = "update Table1 set classID = '"+value1+"',className='"+value2+"',counselorID='"+value3+"',startDate='"+value4+"',endDate='"+value5+"' where classID = '"+value1+"'"; }
I want to create an application wich can handle xml files ( display xml files's data on a html page) + insert those data into an oracle database.
I'm new to that, it a project for my internship. wich API is the most appropriate for that ( Jdom or Xstream or other), wich framework i can use ( there is only 3 IHM : connexion, upload file, display data, confirmation insertion data)?
import javax.servlet.*; import javax.servlet.http.*; import java.sql.*; import java.io.*; public class Test extends HttpServlet {
[Code] ....
This is the basic code structure and I'm trying to figure out this special case with handling the multiple parameters:
I don't want to use String []a=request.getParameterValues("studentname"); as hard code. The reason being the number of rows will be diyamic and I would like to get the column name and then then use an array of string to take values. But how can I connect these to form a query so that the rows goes on inserted one after other.
i am trying to do a program captures keystroke and mouseclick from user in a textarea and insert the details intoa text file using java. Mainly such as delay between keys, no. of times backspace being pressed, alt tab press and copy paste mouse click.
I need to process 10000 xml files and verify and insert the data into database. I am loading all the files in the file object and iterating one by one. I am getting the memory issue. How to handle this?
It has been about 2 years that I'm programming in JAVA and never has this occurred to me about the reason why this happens. So, in this code snippet
public class Test { public static void main(String[] args) { char m = 'A'; int p = 15; System.out.println(m+p); System.out.println("Answer :"+m+p); } }
The statement "System.out.println(m+p);" returns "80" which is evident that the type of the entire expression is promoted to the value of the largest data type int. But in the statement " System.out.println("Answer :"+m+p);, why does the output change to "Answer :A15" but not "Answer :80"?
So from what iv learnt in Java and programming in general is that using a case statement is far more efficient that using multiple IF statements. I have an multiple IF statements contained within a method of my program, and would like to instead use a case statement.
I am trying to execute the following method: This method takes a delivery date as one of the arguments and a list of calendar holidays as another argument. If the delivery date is present in the holiday list, I will add 1 day more to the delivery date and check again if the new delivery date is part of holiday list.
Issue is that the last 3 statements before 'return' are getting executed multiple times though there is no for or while loop. Why they are getting invoked multiple times.
@SuppressWarnings("rawtypes") private String fetchNextWorkingDay(String sDeliveryDate, Element eleCalendarDayExceptions, SimpleDateFormat sdf, Format formatter) throws Exception { System.out.println(""); System.out.println("Inside fetchNextWorkingDay method"); System.out.println("Del Date to compare is "+sDeliveryDate); Boolean isDateSet = true;
So I want to make a simple Java that ask the user to pick a powers and it has two options.If the user picks magic then execute the first if statement then ask the user again which type of magic the user wants.I can't make it work it keeps printing the else statement. Why is that?
import java.util.Scanner; public class Variable { static Scanner zcan = new Scanner(System.in); public static void main(String[] args)
We're told to make a cash register program for 5 products using Java. It loops until "-1" is entered on the "Continue?" input dialog box.There should be a:
1. Main Menu - where the user will pick what to buy (one product at a time) like the sample code below and prompt the user if he will buy another product or not. If yes, the program will go back to the main menu to buy another product and if not, continue to the program. And it looks something like this: LEvFOwQ.png
2. Receipt - at the end of every transaction.
3. Daily Sales Report where it shows all receipts then grand total like:
Transaction 1
-subtotal
Transaction 2
-subtotal
and so on then,
GRAND TOTAL
4. Inventory Report where it shows the Items Available before the Selling, Items Sold, and Items Available after Selling in table format.
Below is the code for a simple cash register for only one product that I made but I need to upgrade it for it to work for 5 products. That code will serve as the basis for this program.make the switch or if-else statement for the main menu first and if I got it right I try doing the rest.
int userQty1 = Integer.parseInt(JOptionPane.showInputDialog( "Product ID Product Name Product Quantity Product Price" +prodID1 + " " +prodName1 + " " + prodQty1 + " " +prodPrice1 " " + and so on until prod5));
I have a problem about this numeric or value error on my java class. Whenever I am calling for the procedure in callable statement it says that error. I don't know what is the problem with my sql code because I;ve tried running it on database alone and it runs perfectly. The results that I need came out fine. But when I'm already calling it in java that error appears. But I tried on finding the line that the said error is coming from and here is the code...
create or replace PROCEDURE RENTING (P_NNAME IN VARCHAR2, P_ADD IN VARCHAR2, P_PHONE IN NUMBER,
I know the first line below creates an object but the second line creates an array of cars, I'm just not sure how it does that. I can see sportsCar is one object in the array but the others are written in a different way. It seems there should a couple names there instead. Please explain the syntax in this code that's highlighted. I don't know how to make sense of it and I've read through the book where I got it where it explained creating objects.
Auto sportsCar = new Auto("Ferrari", 0, 0.0); Auto [] cars = {new auto("BMW", 100, 15.0), sportsCar, new Auto()};
