JavaFX 2.0 :: 3D Sphere To Represent Each Single Point - Rotation Lagging With Large Number Of Points

May 22, 2014

We are doing a visualisation tool for point cloud research project. We use 3d sphere to represent each single point and when we have large number of points to display (~40,000), the rotation becomes very lagging.

What we have tried:

set JVM flag -Djavafx.animation.fullspeed=true, this worked a bit, but not significant.set JVM flag -Djavafx.autoproxy.disable=true, this did not work.

set Cache to true and CacheHint to Cache.SPEED, this did not make much difference.create another thread to do the rotation, and sync back after calculation, this did not work neither.

Create A Class Called Dice To Represent SINGLE Cube

Apr 15, 2014

I need to work on this "Dice" program. I've done it twice already. I've also been pouring over examples on here and elsewhere online, but none of them exactly match what I'm doing, as they all say "Pair of Dice".Mine says: "Create a class called Dice to represent a SINGLE cube". It should have a method called roll() that randomly selects a number from 1-6 for the value of the dice."

It has to use java.util.random, not math.java, and it has to have numberShowing:int, roll():int, and main() all in it.The last part reads "Create a test main method for the Dice class that creates a dice and rolls it many times. Can you keep track of how many times a number comes up? Describe how or implement it in the program." I have started at this computer for hours, and read as much info as I can.

JavaFX 2.0 :: Panel Effect - Rotation Along Its Y Axis

Dec 14, 2014

I have a UI widget, like a table view for example, displaying real-time data. This table can be configured - so it has many properties. The way I would like to do so, is to have a small 'configure button', once clicked, would rotate the entire table along its y axis, and display another panel with checkboxes etc... So effectively, the hidden properties panel is revealed by rotation.

JavaFX 2.0 :: Image Overlay Rotation Interpolation Error

Jun 12, 2015

I'd like to draw an overlay on an image. The overlay is also an image with a black background and a white foreground. Now the white pixels should be drawn on the image in red. This is possible with the code I posted below. However, the problem arises when rotating the stencil (overlay). I get some interpolation errors from the rotation on the boundaries. I tried to clip them with setClip(), but this turns the background from transparent to white. How to remove those spots? Or maybe a completely other idea of achieving an overlay on the image? I'm aware of the pixelreader and iterating through the stencils pixels and draw the respective pixels as rectangles on a Canvas' graphicContext. However, this was extremely slow, compared to the code I posted below (although it doesn't work with rotations).

Here I surrounded the errors:

The image:

The stencil:

And here is the code:

import javafx.application.Application;
import javafx.geometry.Insets;
import javafx.scene.*;
import javafx.scene.effect.BlendMode;
import javafx.scene.image.*;
import javafx.scene.layout.HBox;

Generate Random Number Between 0 And 19 Which Represent Location In Array

Aug 2, 2014

To simulate it, the program will generate a random number between 0 and 19, which represents the location in the array (i.e. index number). Then, the 3 numbers to the left and right of this location should be reset to the value 0. If there isn't 3 numbers to the left and right you may assume a lesser number depending on the boundaries of the array.

How to reset the numbers to 0 in the final array ?

Reading Number Of Points

Oct 24, 2014

I am trying to receive an input file which has either 6 or 8 points and whether it is 6 or 8 points, I do ask the program to save it into an array and then print it. However my program crash after printing few lines. I do know what is wrong with the program my line.split(",").length print 1 at the first and then start printing the numebrs in teh rest of lines which makes it skip a line which means the lines that has for example 8 points will go to a loop that only 6 points and a line that has 6 points will go to a loop that has 8 points and then obviously crashes.

JavaFX 2.0 :: How To Recover From Too Many Touch Points Reported Exceptions

Sep 17, 2014

I'm trying to stress test JavaFX and I'm on Window 8.1 using 1.8.0_20-b26. I have an application that has many objects on the scene with animation timers and overall it purposefully runs very slow. I have listeners on the root AnchorPane for touch input and if I generate many touch point events after a few minutes I get "Too many touch points reported" exceptions (posted below) and the app of course no longer responds to touch input. Is it possible to catch the exception and then reset the scene touch input so it goes back to normal without restarting the application? If it lost any current touch input that's fine.

I'm new to Java and I have an assignment to create a Sphere class that will allow you to create Sphere objects using the code below. Then create a program called SphereTester that prompts the user for the radii of two spheres in meters. The program should display which sphere is larger and by how many cubic meters and display only four digits after the decimal point. I have the sphere class given to us for the assignment which is this:

Applets :: JApplet That Ask User For Points And Draw A Line From Said Points

Nov 6, 2013

This is what he wants: He wants us to prompt the user to input x values and y values (that will be entered into an array when clicking one of the two buttons (this one will say: Add point)). When they click the second button (draw lines), it should take all the points and draw a line that connects all the points together using a method that we write. In the method we have to call the paint method up which the lines will be drawn. The lines drawn should be touching every point added. It shouldn't have parameters. It will also use Graphics painter = getGraphics(); We can't use frames either.

I have everything up until the method understood.

How to write a method that will draw a line from points inputted that is called up in the action listener when the second button (draw lines) is pressed.

JavaFX 2.0 :: Two Finger Gesture Results In Touch Point Sequence

Sep 2, 2014

I'm trying to implement a two finger gesture to move a control for a touch screen. However simply touching the screen with two fingers will generate several events that jump all over the place. This here is the code:

import javafx.application.Application;
import javafx.geometry.Point2D;
import javafx.scene.Node;
import javafx.scene.Scene;
import javafx.scene.layout.Pane;
import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle;

[Code] ....

The log output looks something like this:

Two finger move pressed
First layout: 100.0, 100.0
Move by 94.0, 209.0 event set=4
Move by 1.0, 0.0 event set=5
Move by 95.0, 208.0 event set=6
Move by 1.0, 1.0 event set=8
Move by 96.0, 208.0 event set=11
Move by 219.0, 147.0 event set=11
Move by -121.0, 61.0 event set=13

I know that there is the possibility that I get multiple events with the same event set id. However this is not always the case. I would have expected to get one for each of the finger in the gesture. Why is that? As I understand the difference between changing the layout coordinates and the transformation is, that with the transformation coordinates, the bounds in parent changes, but not the bounds itself.

I'm not entirely clear on what effect this has, especially as I will also have the zoom and rotate gesture on the component. Which one is the better choice to change?To my understanding the coordinates of the touchpoint are relative to the parent component. In this case the layout coordinates of the rectangle. This would mean that I have to calculate the delta of the touch point in the onTouchMoved to the touch point of onTouchPressed.

This would get me the vector the rectangle moved.In the above example I use the main touch point of the two touchpoints of the event. As I understand it this should always be the same one. The correct way would be to calculate the geometric mean of the two points and use that, but that has the same effect. Simplifying the above example to one touch point only shows the same jumping behavior.

Count Number Of Digits After Decimal Point?

Jul 21, 2014

Given a Numbers instance, whose fields are arrays of all the built-in Java numeric types (int, long, float, double, big-decimal, etc), write a method to sort all the numbers into a master list, and then print out the numbers where the number of digits past the decimal point is equal to the index of the number in the master list.

Is there a function in Java that will give me just the numbers after the decimal? I tried Decimalformat but couldn't get it to work. Here is what I have so far; however, I think I might be on the wrong track.

public class Numbers
{
public static void main(String[] args) {
Byte bNum = new Byte((byte) -50);
Integer iNum = new Integer(168);
Long lNum = new Long(100000L);
Short sNum = new Short((short) 10000);
Float fNum = new Float(12.19f);
Double dNum = new Double(23.123);
BigDecimal bd = new BigDecimal("3.14159265358979323846");

Bank Account - Balance Must Be A Floating Point Number

Sep 21, 2014

Develop the class “Account” to be used by a bank. The Account class should have a single instance variable “balance”. Remember that balance must be a floating point number. The required methods for the Account class are shown below.

The Account class “debit” method should return a Boolean and should not allow an overdraft. If a withdraw greater than the current balance is attempted, the function should immediately return “false” and do nothing else.

Develop a test class to thoroughly test all aspects of the Account class. DO NOT change the class name or instance variable name given or the required method names as detailed below.

Account
1 constructor with no parameters (default balance to 0)
1 constructor with a balance parameter
setBalance method
getBalance method
credit method
debit method

I have the test class done, I won't need to put that in till later. My main problem is I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to get debit and setBalance to work together with each other.

public class Account
{
protected double balance;
// Constructor to initialize balance
public Account( double amount ) {
balance = amount;

[Code] ....

You can see I'm stressed out by not reading over my code. I already have the "Debit" in use, just have to change it. Which I did.

Constructs And Initializes A Point With Same Location As Specified Point Object

Jun 5, 2014

I was reading the oracle java tutorial under: URL....Here's the code for the Point class:

public class Point {
public int x = 0;
public int y = 0;
//constructor
public Point(int a, int b) {
x = a;
y = b;
}
}

and in the Rectangle class you have the following constructor:

public Rectangle(Point p, int w, int h) {
origin = p;
width = w;
height = h;

If we create a new Point object like this:

Point originOne = new Point(23, 94);

and then a new Rectangle object like this:

Rectangle rectOne = new Rectangle(originOne, 100, 200);

Will that set originOne to point to the object Point at (23, 94). just want to make that this is the meaning of this statement: Point(Point p)Constructs and initializes a point with the same location as the specified Point object.

Graphics Rotation In Swing

How to rotate a shape in Swing? The only thing I found was something involving this, but I have not seen something like this before:

Java Code : Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D)g; mh_sh_highlight_all('java');

I see this is an object reference, but what is on the right side? Does not seem like a method, as it would not equal a method nor would the parentheses be on the left. Why are parentheses there? Disregarding the above code, I would like to know how to rotate without Graphics 2d

Also, with G2D you it will not allow for setting x coords

2D Circle Texture Rotation?

So I have this randomly generated set of tiles that is wrapped in a circle and I'm not really sure how to scroll it around the circle. Basically it's a side-view planet that is in 2D and needs to be wrapped and moving at a controllable rate to give the illusion of planet rotation. What to do to the x and y to make it scroll around. I want every tile except the water tiles to move from left to right and then wrap around the circle. Here's what a planet looks like: [URL] ....

Swing/AWT/SWT :: AffineTransform - Rotation Is Being Ignored When Set Transform

May 31, 2014

I'm experimenting with AffineTransform, Basically I've created just a simple test GUI to see how the code works and all that. Anyway, there are two buttons which turn an image left and right and a third button with moves the image to the right (East). When you first run the program the image is facing down (South). Now to turn left or right I'm using an Affine Transform and the rotate method. That works fine. The issue is when I move the image to the right, it ignore whatever rotation I previously I made (from turn left and right buttons). Therefore when I click to move the image, it faces down again even if it was facing left or up or right before I moved it. It will always be facing down. How do I get it to keep the rotation and just move? Btw I'm using the setTranslate method to move the image.

Below is my code.

import java.net.URL;
import javax.imageio.ImageIO;
public class Images {
