I have an app that is randomly hanging it doesn't give any error information when it hangs.
Is there at way to see what's going on when it hangs? e.g. the methods that are being called, where is the program execution at..
I am having trouble figuring out why java is giving me an error for the symbols. I will post the errors below the code.

Problem: On the form window, after pressing the button, it doesn't give any error and doesn't give any output. It doesn't reply and i have to stop compiling to exit. In few words: there is a cell factory on the cell to show a colored box, then I added a tooltip to the cell. I need informations that are in the item added to the TableView that has type "Appuntamento". So I try to get my element with these code (that in others part of my code works); but here I get a Null Pointer Exception on cell.getTableView() and also on cell.getTableRow().
I'm probably using these methods in a way that was not expected.

I wrote a proxy in java. The version with ServerSocket-Socket/Stream-IO works wonderfully. When I rewrote it to ServerSocketChannel-SocketChannel/ByteBuffer it works also very well. However, when I access YouTube things happen weirdly: The video is frozen after 3 or 5 minutes (but this did not with the version of ServerSocket/Socket). We have a java application in our production enviroment using Spring framework which is configured with DBCP connection pool and the backend is Oracle database( version 11.2.0.3). Recently we encountered an occasionally happened situation(about once every week) and can be described as below:
The application schedules a task that runs every 10 minutes. And during task execution, the application would issue a SQL query of which the result is expected to be got within 10 seconds. At 11:51 a.m Oct 13th, however, the application failed to get the result within expected time, and 2 hours later, at 13:51, the result was finally returned to application. Due to lack of information at that time, we were not able to reproduce the same problem in test environment. At 15:31 p.m, Oct 29th, it happend again and this time we grasped all the information including thread dump and Oracle diagnostic information. We could found that:
1. Through oracle v$sql view, we could find that the SQL query is executed twice, at 15:31 and 17:31 respectively.
2. By analyzing TCP packets provided by network monitoring tools, it can be concluded that the request TCP packet containing SQL statement had been sent to Oracle and get executed, but after that JDBC only fetched first 80000 records out of 90000 records in total and then it stopped, didn't send any more request to Oracle to fetch rows. 2 hours later, Oracle sent a TCP keep alive packet and JDBC driver resume fetching remaining rows using the same connection(which can be confirmed by comparing source port of packets).
3. We dumped the thread at which JDBC hangs at socket read of JDBC driver
By the way, the version of JDBC we use is 11.2.0.1 and JDK version is 1.5.0_22.

I am having a problem with the JavaFX MediaPlayer playing videos with resolutions greater than 1920x1080px. For testing purpose I downloaded the example from [URL] ... and added the following error-handling:

When playing a video with a resolution of 1920x1168px, the window became black and I get this console output:

The video is encoded with h264 and aac (for audio) and is having a resolution of 1920x1168px. The error occurs with each video with a resolution greater than 1920x1080px. Vidoes with a resolution of 1920x1080px or smalle are working fine. The playback of all videos is working with VLC-Player. I tried Java 7_51 and Java 8_5.
I'd like to draw an overlay on an image. The overlay is also an image with a black background and a white foreground. Now the white pixels should be drawn on the image in red. This is possible with the code I posted below. However, the problem arises when rotating the stencil (overlay). I get some interpolation errors from the rotation on the boundaries. I tried to clip them with setClip(), but this turns the background from transparent to white. How to remove those spots? Or maybe a completely other idea of achieving an overlay on the image? I'm aware of the pixelreader and iterating through the stencils pixels and draw the respective pixels as rectangles on a Canvas' graphicContext. However, this was extremely slow, compared to the code I posted below (although it doesn't work with rotations).

Now, the code that I have works, kind of. Instead of recurring several times at each point, it only recurs once.
So say I'm looking at (1,1). With (1,1) being 57. The area around it looks like this.

Now when I look at it, there are several paths it can take. It can go 57, 97 or 57, 89 or 57, 98. However, I'm pretty sure that it just uses the first one that corresponds with the first if statement that is valid. So I start checking north of the value, then northeast, then east, then southeast, which at southeast is where I find my first greater than value. After it finds it's first valid number, it then continues from that number, instead of checking if there are other longer paths stemming from the original value.
In conjunction with that, you can see that the printout just returns all paths from each value. Which isn't what I want. I need a way to store the longest current path, then check each path after to see if it's longer. If it is, it's replaced, if not, it stays the same.

As you can see there are two listener in my xhtml file one for filetype and other for signmethod. When filtype changes signmethod has to change which in turn changes servers. And if user changes signmethod using dropdown then also server should change. But my problem is when filetype changes, both the listeners are called, as signmethod also changea but the value in event object (e.getNewValue()) is not the new one but old one. I am changing servers in changeServerAndSignmethod by selecting first signmethod from signmethod arraylist which is giving correct result. But changeServers is also getting fired taking wrong event object's newValue method and changing servers to wrong values. When changeServers is fired bydirectly changing signmethod, by dropdown, it gives correct result. Is there a way I can stop changeServers to fire when the change came from changing filetypes rather than direct change by user on signmethod selectOneMenu.

I want to sort recipes, save them somewhere, maybe make it possible to send recipes over network to other users. But I don't know where and how store information about those recipes.
