In other words in a table view with several editable columns, when a new row is added this row does not contain any column cells yet. Cells are added on demand once a column gains focus and starts editing. Is this the case? Is there any way to force the row to construct all cells eagerly?
I noticed that when building a UI programmatically in several steps the width/height of the Pane I use for layout is -1/-1. I read that this is the case until the actual rendering happens. Is there a way to force that earlier? Suppose I wanted to size other UI components (which are not visible initially) according to the size of another pane. How do I do that? Binding the properties does not do the job in the case that those components are not necessarily visible at the same time. Is there a trick to achieve that?
I was trying to understand Textures and OpenGL with Java. but the tutorials I find cover such a horribly broad area X_x.Basically I can get a window up, initialize openGL, and draw many repeating blocks on my screen.
I dont specifically care about minecraft. but I would like to learn how to get Many many blocks on the screenand how to apply more than one texture to a block. I cant seem to load two textures at a time without errors. I have a dumb while loop that includes a few For loops that repeat the blocks.I guess I should learn how to use Arrays to automate the block process ? Im not sure. I started reading about object buffers, but im not sure.

I am new to DreamInCode! I was creating a game using OpenGL (and slick for textures).
Using Vector3f, I make coordinates to where my camera is camera'ing (and rotation).
It was working... until I modified something. I only added shaders. When I took the shaders off I think I might of accidentally deleted something. Nonetheless the code looks perfect to me.
On the method "input()" everything runs. No errors are thrown anywhere. I have syso'd the hell outa my code. It shows no signs of breaks. I can, however, move elements I put into my program. I am 100% sure that no other class is breaking my game (soon to be).
What you should look out for: I am not really sure about the glLoadIdentity()'s and glMatrixMode(). I am, knowing a good part of, thinking it could be gluViewPort....
My problem: Can't move my camera even tho it was working before.

The second method (getAttribute) is created by copy-paste and I also need to repeat this exercise with several other types of Enums. This seems like a waste of code however.
Instead, I thought I'd create a generic method for fetching any type of Enums. As far as I could follow the tutorial @ Oracle I need a generic class for this. Thus the EnumHelper class:

To be honest I haven't been able to make much sense of the documentation on generics, thus its no surprise I'm stuck.
I am a novice to coding and very new to Java. It appears that I am having a similar problem as the user above "Scott Allen". With a few exceptions. My issue is that when I run the command "javac" from the command prompt I am receiving the same error:- "javac is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

There is no "Path" User variable on my computer, although there is a "TEMP" and "TMP" in the User Environment variables.

I'm writing a java program with opengl and I'm trying to get it where the user would select something like lighting on in a JMenu and then it would turn the lighting on in the house/barn... I have a method called LightOn that I put gl.glEnable(gl.GL_LIGHT0); but it just doesn't seem to turn on when I call it from the action performed... Is there something I'm missing from my code that I'm supposed to use instead since I have tried it with a boolean.. So the boolean starts off as false and when the JMenuItem is clicked the actionPerformed will turn the boolean to true and call the method LightOn. In the display method I have what the light is supposed to be
I had the opengl display attach to the JFrame before i did the runnable. But after adding the runnable the display now shows up the same size as my screen size. I have tried rearranging the
canvas.setSize(); and the frame.setSize();
but nothing changes the opengl display is still the same size and when i try to close the JFrame first rather then close the display first i get this error:

I've Installed oracle JDK version 1.8 on a debian machine that already has openjdk 1.6.i've set the path variable in etc/login.defs and java_home variable In etc/environment. When I echo $JAVA_HOME it points to the oracle version correctly and when I run javac It uses the oracle 1.8 version. The problem is when I run the java command , It runs the openjdk 1.6 version and I'm not sure why.If I type java -version It shows the openjdk version.
So I need to create a square and make it rotate when the letter R is pressed and then make it stop when the letter R is pressed again. I need make it rotate using a maths equation that I can't figure it out myself right this moment.

A number of ships (default is 6) are place randomly on a 4 x 4 grid. A ship occupies one square only. The player then guesses the position of a ship. If he/she guesses correctly the ship is HIT and sinks. If the guess is incorrect the player loses a life. The default number of lives is 7. In the header I have a combo list. At each change in value in the combo list I have an Ajax request that updates the data in the Body. So far everything is working properly. Now the home screen's structure should be change when the value of combo list change. To do this I have :

When I log in to the application, I get the good page corresponding (Element type 1 => home page 1). But when I select a type 2 item, the actionListener methode is execute, ManagedBean's data was updated (for type 2 screen) , but the page does not updated. What do you do ?
Whether it is possible to force the installation of JRE when trying to open JNLP file. It is quite often case when users try to run JWS application without JRE installed. The best option would be to force the installation or at least display some message with instructions. Perhaps there are different ways to handle this problem.

The FileAccess class is just a class I made while trying to retrieve filenames from my hard drive.
As far as I can tell, it works correctly after I put the static keyword there. I just want to know why it is required in this particular code, considering it didn't need to do that when I made a simpler class while I was getting my feet wet at creating classes in Java.
We've implemented the Whitelist and there's an application I need to use the Force attribute with, however, I'm unable to get this to work. As I read it, this code says use Java 1.6_24 for Example.com and any other applications are blocked from running. There are three versions of Java installed - 1.6_24, 1.7_65 & 1.8_25. The Java console shows 1.8_25 being called.

How to force browser to open/save/save as the file from server instead of browser cache.
I am creating a csv file through a pl/sql procedure and forwarding the link to user once user clicks on link he downloads the file, however if the same thing is repeated then browser returns the old cached file instead of new file generated on server.
I am developing JavaFX application. I have requirement like that javafx application should be always on top. I could not find an option to make it always on top.
I know that oracle has released a statement saying that JavaFX will eventually replace Swing. What is the advantage of JavaFX? The new format, using "stage" instead of JFrame, seemed weird. Why is this change necessary? What benefit do we reap from JavaFX that Swing does not have?
