I want to develop simple example in which I can select TreeView Nodes with Buttons(in some cases clicking on image and etc). I created this simple sample:
01. pickup the selected text file and read the line by line and output the text in to visual text pane.
what i did:.
01. I wrote code that read the text file and output in to jave console/ also some of the interface.
the code read txt file:
Java Code:
String fileName = "C:/Users/lakshan/Desktop/lawyer.txt"; File textFile = new File(fileName); Scanner in = new Scanner (textFile); while(in.hasNextLine()){
[code]....
so it will read any text file dynamically and output to the text pane in interface. I think scanner code must be execute after the select the file from the browser and set the scanned result in to variable. then later out put the var as string in some jswing component?
I want to have a button that will include another node beyond the text and image that are part from the Button. This node as example will be a circle that I will change his color from gray to green if the button was pushed.
I try to do this with Background / BackgroundFill with no success
I tried to get access to the Pane / Region of the Button, but I can't find a way to do it.
I have a pane with numerous comboboxes. Each ComboBox must perform an action when the mouse button is clicked on the ComboBox (OnMouseClicked). I have written a function that operates on a particular ComboBox, but I want to generalize it to operate on any of the CombBox objects clicked. I think the function should resolve the CombBox object within the function itself, and perform the operations on that ComboBox. But, I don't know how to get the ComboBox from within the function itself.
I have tried viewing the ComboBox documentation, but there doesn't seem to be a method that lets a clicked ComboBox notify the OnMouseClicked action which ComboBox has been clicked. How I go about identifying the clicked ComboBox within the OnMouseClicked function?
I have a case where I have a TreeView and I use it to select items from the tree. After I select each item I then clear the TreeView selection. Then, when I select outside of the window, the setFocused is called which in turn selects item 0 from the tree. I see in the TreeView.java the code,
private InvalidationListener focusedListener = observable -> { // RT-25679 - we select the first item in the control if there is no // current selection or focus on any other cell MultipleSelectionModel<TreeItem<T>> sm = getSelectionModel(); FocusModel<TreeItem<T>> fm = getFocusModel();
I'm using java FX-8 and JDK 1.8,Netbeans 8.0.2.I want to open pdf on button click in my JavaFXML Application.I have triued pdf viewer plugins and iText but it doesn;t work.I have to pass variable value in pdf too.
I have a problem with setting multiple splitpane divider positions. In my application there are multiple splitpanes (one inheriting the other). When resizing the scene (e.g. by double-click or mouse drag) the divider position default values (as set in the FXML) are not taken into account and the application therefore incorrectly displays the divider positions. For example, one pane that should be only 100px wide now spans over the half of the application. Its not very nice because one has to readjust the divider positions manually each time after resizing the window. At the same time, I dont want to set maximum values to keep the layout flexible.
I tried to solve this by adjusting the divider positions at a button click event (..setOnAction(new EventHandler<ActionEvent>()...) but when I click it only one splitpane at a time is adjusted. As I have 3 splitpanes I have to click the button 3 times to get all the adjustments. I am not sure whether this is because the click event is consumed after the first adjustment and subsequent repaint of the scene?
A sample code of what I have now would look like this:
I'm creating UI's that run on top of backend tools that can run from seconds to days and output GB's of generated data (imagine running tar on the Google servers).
I understand how to execute my backed tools using a runtime process and how to interact with them, and running a simple text as a command line Java app works as expected. The issue occurs when I wrap the code in a JavaFX frount end UI try to update the UI elements in a reasonable manner. If I simply use System.out.println() as in the command line version, I see the output from my task. However, simply trying to put that same output into a TextArea using .appendText() doesn't update the TextArea until the background process completes.
I see all sorts of clippings relating to Task, CreateProcess, invokeLater, updateProgress, but none of them seem to solve their original posters' question (nor mine at this point).
We needed to use a GUI via JOptionPane with our program. So that we may turn out programs in as executable jar files. However, I have never used it. Here is my problem and code:
Now for some reason I am getting an error when trying to create a new instance of the Person class and pass inputFirst and inputLast. Its telling me that I have not initialized inputFirst or Last. When I allow it to initialize it sets inputFirst = null; and so forth with inputLast. All I want to do is pass the two Strings to my constructor in my Person class.
while using JOption Pane. So my output for the code is correct, however, it keeps repeating the dialog.
public static void main { String y = ""; String aString; int a, sum; double average; int count=0;
[code]....
My output for the first input ends up like this:
You have enter 1 as integer. Sum = 1 Average = 1.0
So far so good....however when I add another input.
You have enter 1 as integer. Sum = 1 Average = 1.0 You have enter 1 as integer. Sum = 2 Average = 1.0
What I want is the You have enter, sum,average to show up once while still adding sums and average.I tried moving string y out of the while loop and used if statement but to no avail.
I have wrote this class who read from text line by line and save the words in fileOnTable.. Now i don't know what to read in ReadOffer to save the words in object offers and return this.. One more question.. What JUnit test can write for this code..?
My requirement is to find the line number using multiline string. Here I need to extract the string between FROM and where clause(from the below string) and need to find the line number in the file
SELECT HL.LOCATION_ID,HPS.PARTY_SITE_ID,HCAS.CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID INTO LN_SITE_LOCATION_ID,LN_LOC_PARTY_SITE_ID,LN_CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID FROM HZ_LOCATIONS HL, HZ_PARTY_SITES HPS,
How do I make the file reader object move to the next line if there is no more input on the line. Here is my text and output file as you can see that my text file column cuts off on the 2nd line after 70. I want to read that next line which is 100 into my labs variable however its reading it into my final exams variable. I'll also post the code but I didn't think it was necessary.
textfile: 100908095 1008070 10070
output: Labs Projects Tests Final Exams 100908095 1008070100 70
[import java.util.Scanner; import java.io.*; public class MyGrades { public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException { int lab, project, test; int finalExam;//Par and Player values
I have my below Swing GUI code in which I want to read and display some contents present in text file say (test.txt) which is located in my local disk (C: est.txt). My pane tab 2 is divided into two halves horizontally. How can I read and write the test.txt file contents under the tab tab2 in the first half of the pane(where currently it is 2 written)?
Sample test.txt present in my local hard disk location username:test1 Password:test1 DataBasename: testDB
CODE FOR TABBED PANE
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; public class SplitPaneExp { public static void main(String[] args){ Runnable r = new Runnable() { public void run() { JFrame frame = new JFrame("WELCOME");
I'm dealing with, change the content pane color of jFilechooser. Color has been changed but the problem is when I open the subdirectory leads errors; Note : It also trigger error when I set default directory; like chooser.setCurrentDirectory(file);
The following error is the result:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-1" java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalFileChooserUI$IndentIcon.getIconWidth(MetalFileChooserUI.java:912) at javax.swing.SwingUtilities.layoutCompoundLabelImpl(SwingUtilities.java:961) at javax.swing.SwingUtilities.layoutCompoundLabel(SwingUtilities.java:888) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicLabelUI.layoutCL(BasicLabelUI.java:94) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicLabelUI.getPreferredSize(BasicLabelUI.java:239)
If I want to read my file line by line and when it hits a certain value from that point it should start deleting the lines until the tag ends.Just curious will my code actually work at the moment or not because it goes through so many times then goes straight back to the variable declarations at the start of the method and never hits the console print line.
public void removeEnvironment(){ //declare variable to environment id String environmentID = "Environment id"; String lines = null; boolean lineFound = false; boolean end = false;
I'm creating a program that searches a txt file for a given string, then return the number line and the line itself. However, my testFile class isn't detecting my searchWord methods.
The searchWord and recursiveSearch is written in a java class called BasicFile
public List<String> searchWord(String key) throws Exception { LineNumberReader lnr = new LineNumberReader(new FileReader(f)); return recursiveSearch(lnr.readLine(), key, lnr); } public List<String> recursiveSearch(String currentLineText, String key, LineNumberReader lnr)
[code]....
Is it because I'm using a list instead of a string?
I'm doing an assignment for uni and have come across a small hiccup. What I'm trying to do is scan in a text file and read "commands" for it line by line, E.g:
Student Mary 12345 19 Student Joe 12346 19 Change Joe 19 20 Change Mary 19 20
So that lines that begin with the word "Student" indicate that I should create a new student file with that name, student ID, and age.
"Change" indicates that I should be changing the specified student's current age to the new age etc.
What I'm currently doing is something along the lines of this:
Scanner input = new Scanner(new FileReader(args[0])); String[] line; while (input.nextLine().startsWith("Student")) { line = input.nextLine().split("s+");
[Code] ....
The problem I'm having is that every second line seems to be getting skipped (because I'm calling nextLine() so much?) but I can't think of a way to "peek" at the first word of each line without advancing past it. Is there any way of doing this?
Using JOptionPane,ask for 10 numbers from the user.Use an array to store the values of these 10 numbers.Output on the screen the number with the greatest value.
The program below compiles and functions correctly for the most part. It is supposed to be a simple GUI Text Editor with Edit and Format functions. The content pane is supposed to be a scroll pane, however no matter how much I type into the editor, the scroll bar does not appear. Also, the none of the functions under the "Edit" menu work.
