LWJGL - Selecting Specific Region Of Image

View RepliesI want to render a specific region of an image in LWJGL,
View RepliesI'm trying to add a feature to my game where a region is created dynamically using a combination of a pre-existing region.This part of the game will be a sort of adventure where the place is different every time.This is a picture of the original location, when called, the server would copy parts of this region and make an instance of a new region.This new region will always have the coordinates [6, 6] as the starting room. Each room has a certain number of doors used to get across each room.Here's a picture of the new region and all the potential spots the rooms can be placed.
new DungeonFloor(new int[] { 8, 632 }, FloorType.BASE_FLOOR, new int[] { NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST }),
new DungeonFloor(new int[] { 8, 630 }, FloorType.BASE_FLOOR, new int[] { NORTH, SOUTH, WEST }),
new DungeonFloor(new int[] { 8, 628 }, FloorType.BASE_FLOOR, new int[] { NORTH, SOUTH, }),
new DungeonFloor(new int[] { 8, 626 }, FloorType.BASE_FLOOR, new int[] { SOUTH, WEST }),
new DungeonFloor(new int[] { 8, 624 }, FloorType.BASE_FLOOR, new int[] { SOUTH }),
Here's a picture of the dungeons.The parameters are as follows
[] { regionX and regionY } // Used to copy the original location
Type of floor
The door directions of that original location
These are all the same room except the doors are different. Each room can be rotated to make the doors work.The problem:I need an algorithm that finds a starter floor with the correct number of doors, places it at (6, 6).Places the best boss floor at any region makes a map around the boss floor covering x number of rooms. x being a parameter that's sent with the method call.
The code so far:
List<DungeonFloor> allFloors = Arrays.asList(DungeonRepository.DUNGEON_FLOORS);
List<DungeonFloor> starterRooms = new LinkedList<DungeonFloor>();
for (DungeonFloor floor : allFloors) {
if (floors.type() == FloorType.BASE_FLOOR)
starterFloors.add(floor);
}
I'm making my 2D Java game, in my own style, in my own way. I'm trying to make it as code efficient as possible and compact, it usually is easier to change that way. I'm going to use BufferedImage subdivision on tilesets to take out tiles that I need, rather than creating multiple images with a tile each. Now, I've made multiple water tiles, for how they would be arranged differently.
So let's say you have a single water spot, it will be circular, you have two water spots, you have a tile-thick line with circular ends like two little water spots connected, this makes the game look more advanced, better, more realistic and good in many other ways. But, I found that an avarage amount of shapes needed is 25. I thought, how could I make this more efficient?
Could it be possible to use like shape cutting tools or something that would take out a specific shape of a single water tile to leave out all the different shapes, this is a good idea because I could use these tools for all kinds of different tiles in order to make specific features. By tools I mean simple black shapes which will remove the unwanted parts of the tile to form the wanted shape.
I am trying to custom graphic class..,My task is to replace the specific area color of the image when i select the area & pick the color..,If i choose the hand / body of the T-shirts means the color can change by the user..,
View Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with my swing gui. I dynamically create tabs with information (textfields, checkboxes, combo boxes) and when I select the checkbox it disables or enables a textfield. Now when I select the checkbox it seems to resize everything, specifically my textfields from say 9 columns to probably one. I"m a little unsure why it is doing this but I have a feeling it may be an inheritence issue.
My code is below for my generation of the tabs and of the rest of the information on the gui. The gui is an inner rid layout with a top and bottom pane that are both gridbaglayouts and an outter pane as well. I am thinking I am missing something in the grid layout setup that is causing this.
private void initComponents() {
jTabbedPane1 = new javax.swing.JTabbedPane();
setDefaultCloseOperation(javax.swing.WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
getContentPane().setLayout(new java.awt.GridLayout(1, 0));
pack();
[code]....
How can I populate the jTable in my form by selecting value from combo box. And remember I have database as well.
View Replies View RelatedI'm learning Java using BlueJ, I have made a class that has a HashMap of (String, String) that contains an the make of a car and the model.
I want a method to return a collection of all the keys that satisfy a condition, like if someone wants to find what make a certain model is. I know it requires a loop, just not too sure how to write the loop to satisfy the condition.
I have a selection listener attached to a TreeView as shown below
treeView.getSelectionModel().selectedItemProperty().addListener(new ChangeListener<TreeItem<Pair<VideoSourceType, String>>>() {
@Override
public void changed(ObservableValue<? extends TreeItem<Pair<VideoSourceType, String>>> observable, final TreeItem<Pair<VideoSourceType, String>> oldValue, final TreeItem<Pair<VideoSourceType, String>> newValue) {
// do something
treeView.getSelectionModel().clearSelection();
}
};
What I want to do is to "do something" and then clear the selection so that it can be selected again. However, I cannot re-select the same item from the TreeView until I first select a different item.
I am trying to write a specific byte sequence to a specific memory location on a removable storage drive. Does Java allow me a way to do this? I know the dangers in accessing memory, but the memory location of the data that will be written will never change.
how to assign a variable a memory location.
How do I move focus from a jcombobox to a specific component say a jtextarea.
My attempt below seems to be moving to a random component not the desired jtextarea.
takenByCombo.addKeyListener(new KeyAdapter() {
public void keyPressed(KeyEvent e) {
if (e.getKeyCode() == KeyEvent.VK_TAB ) {
e.consume();
dayJTArea.requestFocus(); // focust not moving dayJTArea
}
}
});
I applied the above logic to move focus from a specific jtextarea to another jtextarea as seen below and it works as desired.
dayJTArea.addKeyListener(new KeyAdapter() {
public void keyPressed(KeyEvent e) {
if (e.getKeyCode() == KeyEvent.VK_TAB ) {
e.consume();
monthJTArea.requestFocus();
}
}
});
What it's supposed to do: This code is supposed to see if the clicked card is selected. If it's not, select it and show the player where it can move / attack. If it is selected, then find out what card the player clicked on. If he clicked on the card that was already selected, deselect it. If he clicks on a friendly card (same playerID), then select that card. If he clicks on an enemy card (different playerID), attack that card. If he clicks on a tile, move it to that tile.
The problem: However, line 24-58 give me a bit of a problem. Right now, it works fine BECAUSE lines 46-58 are commented (which also means the unit can't move). If I uncomment those lines, the unit becomes able to move, however, lines 34-46 cease working...
Java Code:
@Override
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
mainloop: for (int i = 0; i < Main.cards.size(); i++) {
Card c = (Card) Main.cards.get(i);
if (Card.cardSelected == null) {// Contains / Is not selected
if (c.contains(e.getX(), e.getY())) {
Tile.reset();
Card.reset();
Card.cardSelected = c;

So here we go with my problem:
- from the main class will arrive three variable (String name_used, int level_choose, int level_result)
I have a .txt file with this kind of formatting:
mario 1 1 0 1 0 1
carlo 0 0 0 1 1 0
...
Where I use 1 and 0 in the main for write if the level (you see that the numbers are always sixr? are egual to six level existing) BEFORE is done correct or wrong
- when in the main a user make a level a feedback coming back from the class level saying if the user made the count correctly or wrong. and i wanna replace the value (1 or 0) in the txt file with the new level result.
So i have all what i need as parameters i think.
name_used to look for the correct line in .txt file with .indexOf
level_choosed to go throught the correct index of that line
level_result (1 or 2) to be replaced with the existing one
Java Code:
public void salvaRisultati(String name_used, int level_choosed, int result_of_level) throws FileNotFoundException{
}
} mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
I wanted to create a simple window with the LWJGL and a key input request which closes the window.I also wanted to create the classes in seperated packages, so it's more organized.The window displays but if I press that certain key nothing happens.Here is the Main class:

I'm looking for a working example of shadow mapping with java code using shaders. There are so many c++ or c tutorials out there but i haven't managed to rewrite them since I'm too bad in c/c++. I've been trying to implement this a long time but can't get the hang of it. Any example out there? Preferably as sstripped down as possible except for the shadow mapping.
View Replies View RelatedI'm trying to export a runnable jar file that requires lwjgl. Everything works in eclipse as I'm using
-Djava.library.path=nativewindows
as a VM Argument for the jinput .dll files.
After exporting & launching the jar it doesn't work of course! I get this error:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no junput-dx8 in java.library.path
I'm not sure how to make it work outside of eclipse....
I've recently started programming with lwjgl, playing around with some 3D graphics. I've built a house and now I'm trying to render a view looking straight onto the center of the roof, but with current configuration it's slightly off.
As you can see in the image the edges on the roof aren't perfetly straight which would be the case if I was looking straight to the center from a point on the roof normal vector. I'm using gluLookAt to get the view, using the following code:
gluLookAt(house.getRoofCenter().x + house.getRoofNormal().x * 0.25f,
house.getRoofCenter().y + house.getRoofNormal().y * 0.25f,
house.getRoofCenter().z + house.getRoofNormal().z * 0.25f,
house.getRoofCenter().x, house.getRoofCenter().y, house.getRoofCenter().z, 0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f);
And for the normals:
Vector3f.sub(p2, p1, a);
Vector3f.sub(p3, p1, B)/>/>/>;
Vector3f.cross(a, b, c);
roofNormal = new Vector3f(-c.x, -c.y, -c.z);
and center:
roofCenter = new Vector3f((p3.x + p1.x) / 2, (p3.y + p1.y) / 2, (p3.z + p1.z) / 2);
My question is: Is this due to errors in the rendering methods or is my math off?
I have some problem to understand the way to make this:
In my main class a user can save his name in a txt file (and the system initially will add 6 value equals to 0) than he can choose between 6 level and make it.
example of .txt file data:
mario 0 0 0 0 0 0
carl 0 0 0 0 0 0
AT THIS MOMENT i just made other class and they work, is this new one that is hard for me. I'm trying to make a class that:
1- (first method called verificaRisultati) take name_used and level_choosed from the main and go to check in the .txt file if that level before was done right(1) or wrong(0)
and return something like "before you made this level properly" or "before you made this level incorrectly" AND THEN let the user start with the level.
2- (second method called salvaRisultati) at the end of the level i wanna pass the result (correct/incorrect) to another method of this class that will save the value (1 or 0) associated to the user in the right position.
This is the class that i'm writing:
Java Code:
import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.io.FileReader;
public class ResultUsers {
[Code] ....
I really need some hint and some code example because I'm stuck. How I can take exactly the line with the user name? How I can correctly split the line in an array and then read/modify the value for that level?
I am currently working on a Minecraft clone (called "Build"), and I'm trying draw just ONE simple dirt block, but it will only draw a square!
Here is the main class:
package game;
import game.block.DirtBlock;
import org.lwjgl.LWJGLException;
import org.lwjgl.opengl.Display;
import org.lwjgl.opengl.DisplayMode;
import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;
[Code] ....
And the Block class ( the one that all Block Types are based off of):
package game;
import static org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11.*;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.nio.FloatBuffer;
import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;
import org.newdawn.slick.opengl.Texture;
import org.newdawn.slick.opengl.TextureLoader;
import org.newdawn.slick.util.ResourceLoader;
[Code] ....
And that is the code, I'll make updates as needed.
Sir, I'am new to Swing Programming. I have to create an application where an image is displayed on one Label. The same image has to be split in parts and stored in database pert wise. Later the user has to retrieve the entire image by viewing a small part of the image. I have already displayed the full image on the Label, now i don't know how to split the image and store it part wise in the database.

I successfully added a background image on the Panel but I can't create my JButton image on top of my background image.

I'm trying to make a method that takes an image and turns it into a tile image. So if the original image looks like this:
[URL] ....
then the output image should look like this:
[URL] ....
Here's a method that's supposed to do that but for some reason the output image looks the same as the original:
public static int[][] tile(int[][] arr){
int[][] tile = new int[arr.length][arr[0].length];
for (int i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {
tile[i]=arr[i];
}
return tile;
}
I recently changed the method and the error message I'm getting is "bad operand types for binary operator '+'. Here's the method:
public static int[][] tile(int[][] arr){
int[][] tile = new int[arr.length][arr[0].length];
for (int i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {
for(int j=0; j<arr[i].length;j++){
tile[j]=(tile[j])+(arr[i]);
}
}
return tile;
}
how to hide an image in another image in java
By using Steganography we can hide text in an image. But how it works for image.
I know that it's possible to retrieve a line from a txt file but say for example my file looked like this:
staff id = 1
firstname
surname
age
staff id =2
firstname Kate
surname Hollar
age 33
staff id =3
firstname Daniel
surname Hong
age 21
It is possible to retrieve just the staff id's?
