Listing Photos Captured In ListView - Sending To Server

Apr 22, 2014

I'm making a class in Android that takes a photo, list a photos in Listview, and then sends them all to server. I'm stuck on listing them. How to send them all to server.

Here is my code :

public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.photo_upload);
Button picBtn = (Button) findViewById(R.id.buttonPhoto);
setBtnListenerOrDisable(picBtn, mTakePiconclickListener,
MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);

[Code] ....

Executing this code i can take a first photo and place it into listview. But on second photo listing it crashes..

Sending To All Vs Sending To One Person In Server / Client Program

Apr 17, 2014

I have two programs that I'll post below, one is a Server and the other is a Client. The ChatServer runs once and many clients can run ChatClient from separate computers and talk together in their GUI's. The the client program comes with two buttons, one that's simulates the sending of a message to a single user ; "Send Message To User", and one that just generally sends a message ; "Send Message To All". Although now the Clients on the server seem to be able to selectively send messages to an individual by giving the recipient name, all the clients can see that message, which is not exact what I am aiming for. What I am going for is having the "Send Message To User" button click to send a message to the named user without all other users seeing the message.

The Server Program Code

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;
import java.io.PrintWriter;
import java.net.ServerSocket;
import java.net.Socket;
import java.util.ArrayList;

[Code] ....

Now I have tried thing like having various input output streams and trying to connect those, but no luck. Tried fiddling with having the names arraylist directing the messages to one client versus all but that did not work out either. How I what I would need to do to go about doing this?

Sending Message From One Client To Another Via Server?

Apr 2, 2014

I've just recently started playing around with network programming in Java, and I've come up with a simplistic server than can handle multiple clients and return the IP and port each one is connected to (or I'm under the impression that is so). What I've been requested to do as an exercise by one of the programming teachers at my high school (I'm not in a class, this is my own time) is send a message from one client to the other through the ServerSocket so that it may "watch" everything going on. I'm not sure how to go about this at all.

EDIT : now it never seems to go the the else or else if statements...

That is now the main problem. It never, ever, goes past the first if statement, no matter what it is.

EDIT : Okay, I haven't changed a line of code but suddenly not a single if statement is working. They just stopped. The client simply hangs and I can't type anything.

Server

public class Server implements Runnable {
Socket clientSocket;
Server(Socket clientSocket) {
this.clientSocket = clientSocket;
}
public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
ServerSocket ssock = new ServerSocket(3480);
System.out.println("Listening on port 3480");

[code]....

Modify Or Read Http Message Before Sending To Server Within Client

Feb 25, 2014

I am trying to check the integrity in a Bank Transaction that the message sent to the server has not been modified by any malware in the client system. For this I am trying to read the message sent to the server at the client boundary so as that it enters the network as customer with customer intended values. So, firstly I need to check where to I need intercept the message within client boundary. Secondly, Can I intercept the message and read its contents using Java?

I want to check what my Online Banking Server( Leta Say Bank of America) receives if I ask to transfer amount $100 to Account A . I assume that there is a malware in client system that changes recipient to B,$10000. My aplicaion which I intend to design, shoudl inform the user that the integrity of the message is compromised and should give the option to the user to abort it. plan to track what message is being sent from client to server. This I want to achieve by reading the message from client at the last point before it leaves the client and enter the network.

Client And Server Class For UDP Protocol Sending Integer Numbers By Packets

Apr 21, 2014

I have to write a client and server class for a UDP protocol sending integer numbers by UDP packets. So far i have this;

Client Code:

import java.io.*;
import java.net.*;
class UDPClient {
public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
BufferedReader inFromUser =
new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));

[Code] ....

But i now need to change this so that:

The client;

1. Reads an integer from keyboard input and stores its value in a UDP packet.
// byte[] send = ByteBuffer.allocate(4).putInt(num).array(); ???

2. Sends the UDP packet to the server, on port number 1999;

3. Listens for UDP packets from the server (until it receives a packet with a non-positive number; see
step (b) below). While listening:

(a) Once it receives a UDP packet from the server, it subtracts 2 from the integer value num contained in it.
// int num = ByteBuffer.wrap(receive).getInt(); ???
(b) Checks the integer value num: if the value is greater than 0 (num>0) then the client stores it in a new UDP packet and sends the packet to the server; otherwise (num<=0) the client terminates.

The Server;

1. Listens on port 1999;

2. For each UDP packet it receives from a client:
(a) extracts the integer value n contained in it;
(b) decreases the value of n by 2;
(c) sends back to the client a UDP packet containing the new value of n.

Listing System Properties With A Linebreak

Apr 6, 2014

I am quite new to java and trying to print all the system properties with the following

code:System.out.println(System.getProperties());

This prints all the properties as expected but I am wanting to put each property on a new line and am struggling a bit. Obviously I will need some sort of for loop etc but im just not sure how to do it. Is it something along the lines of:

for (int i = 0; i < System.getProperties().size(); i++){

What my understanding of what the above is doing is checking how many properties there are an looping round for each property that exists, so all I need to do is get the property 1 at a time however I am not sure where to get the property value to input into the System.getProperty(); method.

Because the IDE does not like setOnClickListener, OnClickListener and onClick. How to allow a combination of listview and image buttons..

JavaFX 2.0 :: Binding ListView Selected Items

Oct 19, 2014

I want to synchronize a List<String> with the selected items of a ListView. In the real project, I want to synchronize the selected items of a TreeView and the selected images of a galery (custom control).

import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.Arrays;
import java.util.List;
import javafx.application.Application;
import javafx.beans.binding.Bindings;
import javafx.collections.FXCollections;

[Code] ....

In most cases, the program works as expected but sometimes there are some issues.

- For example, when I launch the application and select all the items with Ctrl-A, the event { [One, Two, Three] added at 0,  } is fired so the list of strings contains incorrectly 4 elements [One, Two, Three, One].

- Another example, when selecting all the items (with Shift+End), two events are fired { [One] removed at 0,  } and { [One, Two, Three] added at 0,  }, that's correct. But when I remove the last element with Shift-Up, 3 events are fired  { [Two] removed at 1,  },  { [Three] removed at 2,  } and { [Two] added at 1,  } and an exception is thrown:

java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: toIndex = 3

JavaFX 2.0 :: Buttons In ListView Not Firing OnAction

Jun 2, 2014

I have an app that was working with JavaFX 2 on JDK 7 but seems to no longer work in JavaFX 8 on JDK 8.  The story is that I have a ListView where I have provided my own CellFactory.  Within the class that extends ListCell, in the updateItem() method, I create an HBox that contains some text and a new button.

I register an onAction() callback for the button.  The end result should be a list with entries which contain buttons and when a button is clicked, the onAction() callback is invoked.  However, when I run it and click the button, the callback is NOT being fired.  This exact code was working on JavaFX 2 and JDK 7.

JavaFX 2.0 :: How To Not Show ListView ContextMenu When Right Clicking On Null

Jun 16, 2015

I only want the context menu to be showen if the user is clicking on an actual listview item, not if they click anywhere else in the listview. I know this is possible and I found answers to similar problems, but in the end they didn't provide enough infomation for me to solve my issue. I found this example on how to do it with a list view containing String objects, but what if my list view contains another object, in my case a wrapper class? I have a wrapper class to keep track of the key, but I only display the value variable in the listview, through calling the toString method. So the cells still contain a wrapper.

class Wrapper(int key, String value) {
..
}
public String getValue() { return value; }
public SimpleStringProperty getValueAsProperty() { return new SimpleStringProperty(value); }
public String toString() { return value; }

[Code]....

But line 05 gives me a NullPointerException, why? I do this after I've set the items of the list view by doing listView.setItems(..).

JSF :: XHTML On One Server Can Talk To Managed-bean On Other Server (different Machine)?

Jul 27, 2014

I am developing a web application using JSF-2.0 on weblogic 10.3.6. I am using Facelets as VDL. I have 5 different machine. They are different according to their OS and their geographical location. On my first xhtml page server (machine) is decided. Then on next page file upload and rest of processing takes place. My restriction is that SSO configuration can be done on only one machine.

So I am restricted to using xhtml files from only my primary server where SSO configuration is done. But I have to connect to servlets or managed-bean of different machine as requests are machine specific and file needs to be uploaded to those machines for processing. So I cannot use redirectUrl as I need to be only on one machine. Is it possible that xhtml on one server can talk to managed-bean on other server(different machine)?.

Connect A UDP Web Server To Compression Server

Working on a project and am in need of some quick guidance to wrap things up. I have a functioning compression server that will create two files after the user gives it some input and a "magic string" to know when to stop reading input for that specific file.

I now need to connect a UDP web server to that compression server. the web server will read from the HTTP POST Request the data that was uploaded and send it to the compression server to create the two files... i have included both programs below

Web Server:

import java.util.*;
final class HttpRequest implements Runnable {
//Declare Constants and Variables
final static int BUF_SIZE = 1024000;
final static String CRLF = "

Compression Server:

import java.net.*; // for DatagramSocket, DatagramPacket, and InetAddress
import java.io.*; // for IOException
import java.util.zip.*;// for Zip
public class CompressionServer {
private static final int ECHOMAX = 65535; // Maximum size of echo datagram
private static final int BUFFER = 2048; // Buffer size for writing to Zip File

Sending XML To PHP Service Via POST

Jul 7, 2014

I have a server with a handful of php services. I communicate with these services by creating connections from java code. The services currently respond with XML, but that can be changed if an alternative way can improve performance.

One of the things I need to do is send varying sized payload (some large) to one of the services. My current plan is to create an xml file in java and perform a POST request with the XML as the payload. I am using an XML because the data is very structured.

From a performance point of view, would it be better to send the XML as a file or just as text? Also, is there a better way to send this data? These services will eventually be used by an android app, where performance and minimizing the size of the data packages will be extremely important.

Sending Two Strings Into A Constructor

Jun 13, 2014

I did this using ArrayList<String> and my tests worked. Meaning I was able to read the strings in a different class through my constructor. However I want to use a string array because it will be easier to handle when I finish the program. I will send each players poker hand in and figure out who is the winner instead of putting it all onto a ArrayList and having to iterate through it. However whenever I did my check I am just printing null.

PokerFile class

void separateHands(String cards) {
//ArrayList<String>playerOne = new ArrayList<String>();
//ArrayList<String>playerTwo = new ArrayList<String>();
String[] playerOne = new String[10];
String[] playerTwo = new String[10];

ignore the boolean methods I was just building the structure of the program. The print file is what is outputting this:

null
null
null
null

//ArrayList<String> p2 = new ArrayList<String>();
String[] p1 = new String[6];
