BlankArea class exists in same folder as MouseEventDemo.

I'm creating a small program to count the number of mouse clicks the user is inputting into a BlankArea for a school assignment. I just finished with making the program look nice and all so I was putting in a MouseListener to detect the clicks. However, when I tried adding a MouseListener to the code, the error in the title appeared.

Here's what's going on:
Compiling causes error as described in Title Java Code: createAndShowGUI() mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
cannot be referenced from a static context appears Java Code: public static void main(String [] args) mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
It contains the thread safe and program previously launched without mouse functionality(program appeared when there were no MouseListener components and thread safe had all static method stuff).

JComboBox - Fire Event When Mouse Hovers Over Each Item

Feb 18, 2014I'm trying to right a GUI in swing, and as part of my program, I want to open a secondary window out of the main window when a mouse clicks on the main window. Then, once I click a button on the secondary window, I want that window to close and submit data to the main window (like an info form). I have almost figured out how to do this, except for one problem. By putting a variable inside my form window called "ready," and then in my main window running a loop that constantly checks if ready is true and doesn't proceed until its true, I can create the form window, modify the values in it (currently just one value called "difficulty" that's modified by a jSlider), and then when i click the "begin" button, ready is changed to true, the form window closes, and the main window can proceed. However, when I try to put the while loop checking the ready variable inside a mouseClicked method in the main window, the form window freezes when it opens, and you can't see any of its content or modify it in any way (you can't even close it).

How To Get Applet Demo Folder

I was looking for the demo folder in the jdk but I cannot find it. I was previously using jk7_51 and now using jdk8. and both of them do ot have the folder. I downgraded to jdk6 but i still could not find the foler. I need it since i need to try out the applets that come with the jdk. What I should do?

Now after the user paint a circle for example, he must be able to drag the shape; to be able to do this. i think i must again implement the different mouse Events. I have done it and the drag is not working. How can i achieve this. can we implement multiple (mousePressed, mouseReleased, mouseDragged) in the same java class??

Swing/AWT/SWT :: Can't Change Visibility Of Two JPanels When Calling Method From Button Event In Another Class
Dec 30, 2014I have two classes involved in this portion. CheckIn_Search
(class #1) is my main UI and I am collecting search information from the user in a jPanel form. When they click "Search" it passes the search criteria to a method that contacts a web service and gets the results. These results are passed to coSearchResults
(class #2) that opens a jFrame and jTable (in modal format, over the main window created by CheckIn_Search.
The user selects a row in the table and that selection data is passed back to coSearchResults to populate a new jPanel form. When the data is passed from coSearchResults, I want to close its window, hide the first jPanel in CheckIn_Search and make the second jPanel visible. To accomplish this, I created a method in CheckIn_Search that simply hides/shows the panels (it will do more later).
I instantiate and call the method in CoSearchResults as part of the button click event. The problem is, it doesn't work. The panels are unaffected and there are no errors. I've put in break-points and it goes into the method.. Here is the coSearch_Results code.
Here is am retrieving the jtable row id and using the first value in the row to get the data from the table model as there is more data than what is displayed in the table. I'm sending that whole row of data to the method that changes visibility.

JDK 1.6 - Could Not Find Or Load Main Class
Sep 23, 2014I have permanently set the path of bin of JDK 1.6 in the environment variables of my system. I am able to compile any of my java programs successfully. But when I give command to run the program I am getting an error "could not find or load main class".
When I write the command "set classpath=.;" program runs successfully. I want to know whether I have to set this classpath everytime I run a new progaram. Is there any permanent way to set classpath ?

Oct 29, 2014I was trying to write my own version of the game SimpleDotCom from Head First Java. I have two files:

The two files are in the same directory, "project_01" and the CLASSPATH environment variable is set to ".;".
The game compiled but when I tried launching it with "java GameTester" it returned the error : Could not find or load main class GameTester. I know my game is horrible and probably extremely buggy but I'll fix all the bugs, etc. later, right now I just need to get it to run.
