View RepliesMy homework is asking me to write a program that prompts the user to enter a password and displays "valid password" if the rule is followed or "invalid password"
Sample
enter a string for password: wewewx
valid password
It's being graded on

My current issues with the current code I have written is simply the password doesn't work unless it starts with 2 digits, the other order it displays as wrong. and I have no idea how to add a GUI.
import java.util.*;
import java.lang.String;
import java.lang.Character;

username works perfectly, but when I enter password I get this error.
Java Code:
OKbtn.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
if(Usernametxt.getText().equals("Admin") &&
(Passwordfld.getPassword().equals("Admin2"))){
System.out.println("permition granted");
}else{
System.out.println("permition Rejected");
[code]....
I am new to JAVA GUI programming and was wondering how you go about getting and testing if a password field text equals something. For example, if the password equals "password" then do something.
View Replies View RelatedThe problem you have is that it doesn't produce a 4x4 array. For that you need more nested for loops.This is what I have tried so far:
import java.util.Scanner;
import java.util.Random;
public class challenged2e
{
static Scanner console = new Scanner(System.in);
public static int i=0;
public static void main (String args[])

I get 21 errors and they all have to do with i and j.
I have a project which has a set of configuration files, where each configuration file represents an environment specific configurations. In other words, I have 3 environments, development, staging, and production. The configuration for each environment is different, e.g. DB name, url etc.
Whenever I want to deploy the same code, on each environment, I have to manually generate environment specific .war file, so that it has environment specific configuration file in it.
What I am looking for is a kind of solution where i have to compile only once in maven and it generates only one .war file, which I can use on every environment. In other words, i want the environment specifi application server/tomcat to identify which configuration to pick.
That way, I'll be sure that we are deploying and testing the same .war file on every environment/application server.
How can i restructure the application to achieve this functionality?
I am generating pdf and displaying it in separate window/tab using the approach described in BalusC Code: PDF handling.I need to display blockui ajax loader when i select the commandlink to display pdf.The pdf gets generated but the ajax loader image remains as it is.I need to manually refresh the page to hide it.Is there any way using which it can be hidden as soon as the pdf gets displayed.My code snippet is as below
JSF page
<h:form id="subFrm">
<p:commandLink value="Download PDF" action="#{pdfBean.downloadPDF}"

View Replies View RelatedI want to generate a new tile every 1,5,10,15 (please check the code to gain an understanding of where I'm going) the session last for 4m :20 sec, I need using the date package, I tried using the sleep method however I don't want to pause the whole thread, so I need setting up the time aspect of the key generation (assume all other code works).
Java Code:

View Replies View RelatedI am having a doubt about how to fix and what could be the code to generate a retroActive salary case in payroll generation. Upto last year(2013) it was working fine.Now it is 2014 and i am stuck as i am new to java.
The system is computing every value in yearly basis,but the inputs are in monthly basis.
I need to generate reports for huge data (around 2 to 5 lakh records) in different file formats (PDF , XLS , RTF , XML) in my web application.
Data will be fetched from database.
I have been searching for a best open source report generation tool and ended up on choosing on Dynamic Reports.
Aspose , is licensed and unluckily we could not afford to at this moment.
Whether i can use Dynamic Reports , or is there any other tool available.
I am writing a payroll program .The program generates random PPS numbers and then takes in users information and calculates the salary accordingly. I am using netbeans and my code is showing errors on line 18 and 42 ("cannot find symbol")on the code for grossPay(). The program seems to crash after a new PPS number is generated and will not run.
package sd_assg_2;
import java.util.Arrays;
import java.util.Random;
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;

public static void main(String[] args) {
String[] newPPs = getPPSno();

I am working on an assignment that I can't seem to figure out the final part to. The program takes in course data such as the time the class starts and how long it lasts. The time is in military time (0000 - 2400)
I need the output time to be the time the class started, plus the length of the class, and displayed in military time.
for example,
Start Time = 0930
Length = 50 minutes
Endtime = 1020
I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have gotten a program that works for this time and minutes, and displays the correct 1020. But when I change the information to say
Start time: 0700
Length = 90 minutes
I get:
Endtime = 90
90 is technically correct, the way the formula is setup, but I need it to display 0900 not 90.
Here is the code that I have. Be easy, I'm still learning, and this is just the file I created to get the formula to work. Also, the verbose in here is just for my own debugging to make sure values should be what I'm expecting them to be.
public class calc
{
public static void main(String[] args) {
double hours, minutes, length;
double temp;
int time = 2400;
hours = time / 100;
System.out.println("Hours are: " + hours);
[Code] ....
I have two classes. time_runner is used for testing my code.
This is what I'm using to test my code:
class time_runner
{
public static void main(String str[]) throws IOException {
Time time1 = new Time(14, 56);
System.out.println("time1: " + time1);
System.out.println("convert time1 to standard time: " + time1.convert());
System.out.println("time1: " + time1);
System.out.print("increment time1 five times: ");
time1.increment();
[code]....
The two constructors are "Time()", which is the default constructor that sets the time to 1200, and "Time(int h, int m)" Which says If h is between 1 and 23 inclusive, set the hour to h. Otherwise, set the hour to 0. If m is between 0 and 59 inclusive, set the minutes to m. Otherwise, set the minutes to 0. Those are my two constructors that I pretty much have down. The three methods however I'm having trouble with. The "String toString()" Returns the time as a String of length 4. The "String convert()" Returns the time as a String converted from military time to standard time. The "void increment()" Advances the time by one minute.
public class Time {
private int hour;
private int minute;
public Time(int h, int m) {
if(h > 1 && h < 23)
hour = h;

I want to validate username and password in JavaScript. I want to validate username and password with database values. If login failed i want to display alert message...ok. But problem is that i have index.jsp page. After clicking login button control goes to homepage.
jsp..okk.. in index.jsp I have taken dropdown to show designation. I select design then control goes to respective homepage... in homepage. I am checking username and password with database values. If login successful it goes to respective pages but if login failed it has to show me alert message. How can i do that ?
i need to develop a java program in which it will ask the user "Username" and "Password" and by which it will login to a wesite.
I have developed a GUI in which the username should be entered in the User "JTextfield" and Password in Password "JPasswordField". I need to make sure that password should not be displayed in the GUI. but I didnt find a way to parse the string (char) entered in the "JPasswordField" to the website.
It is always passing a 'null' character! I tried to search in internet and i found that it wont be able to pass the passwordfield characters but you will be able to check in the main function itself by comparing with another char array in the main program itself whether the password entered is correct or not.
Is there any alternate way for this?
Objective : Parse the password (which is not displayed in the GUI) to a website or some other function where it will use it
I have a question but dont know how I could verify the criterias..
The password should be at least six characters long
The password should contain at least one uppercase and at least one lowercase letter
The password should have at least on digit
Write a class that verifies that a password meets the stated criteria. Demonstrate the class in a program that allows the user to enter a password and then displays a message indicating whether it is valid or not.
I have not created a class because I really have no clue what to write in this case. My main method is:
import java.util.Scanner; // Needed for the Scanner class
public class Password {
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Create a Scanner object to read input.
Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
String input;// To hold the input
[Code] .....
It had no syntax error but if there would be any other error or if i would receive a wrong result
import java.util.*;
class tester {
public static void test() {
Scanner input=new Scanner(System.in);
int size= 0;
System.out.println("Enter your password:");
String enter=input.next();
size = enter.length();
[Code] .....
When I enter the wrong password, it says I have successfully logged in.
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
public class P2H
{
public static void main (String[] args) {
System.out.println("LOGIN");
String usernameStr=JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter Username");
[Code] ....
Also I have to limit password attempts to 3. How would I go about that?
i have this source code...
import java.util.Scanner;
//I had to use scanner in this program because I had to create objects that were in the Scanner class, such as in row 16.
* This program confirms a password typed into a *
* console window *
*/
public class Homework1 {
public static void main(String[] args) {
//Needs to add a scanner to the program to continue on
Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
[code]....
Now I need to create a second version of this program that uses JOptionPane to get the inputs from the user and show the output!

I am using JSF 2.2.
Use Java to write and run a simple console-window program for checking passwords. The program must satisfy the following requirements:
-When the program runs, it should first print its name, e.g., Password Checker
-The program should next prompt the user to enter a username, e.g.,
Please enter your username:
-The program should next prompt the user to enter a password, e.g., Please enter your password:
- If the user enters a correct password, i.e., one that matches an internal secret password, the program responds. You are approved by access control!, and quits.
-If the user enters an incorrect password, the program responds
Try again:
-If the user enters a correct password matching the secret one, the program responds. You are approved by access control!, and quits.
-If the user enters an incorrect password, the program responds
