I have a custom library I made to make things easier for myself. I used it in a small program in NetBeans and it works fine. When I try to clean and build, it says it can't find the methods from my Library class. How do I get the library packaged into the jar?
I am reading the excellent book Algorithms. The author of this book is using his own libraries.
I have downloaded the libraries (it is a file called stdlib.jar) and I've store it in a directory called ~/Downloads(I am using a macbook pro).
Then I have created a project with IntelliJ Idea 14.1 using the default package (as it is the only way for a program to 'see' these libraries).
The program is running inside the ide, but because of the nature of this book, all the included code must be run from the command line.
The problem is that I cannot run for example the Average class from the command line because the system asks for the external library.
Specifically the error is :
I enter : java -cp . Average
and the Error I get is :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: StdIn at Average.main(Average.java:11) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: StdIn at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:372)
[Code] ....
The Average class is the following :
public class Average { public static void main(String[] args) { //Average the numbers on StdIn double sum = 0.0; int cnt = 0;
I'm working on an application and I would like to package my resources (icons, about dialog images, splash screen images, release version text, etc.) in the jar file I'm going to distribute for deployment. I would like to access these resources from the JAR file in my deployed code. But I would also like them accessible when I'm running the code in my Eclipse IDE. Is there a way to do this using only one code base?
My Eclipse project structure is src (folder) which contains my source code, bin (folder) which contains my class files and res (folder) which contains my resource files.
I am using the javapackager utility to create my deployment JAR and build a self-contained deployment .exe for deploying to Windows.
Is there a way to have the javapackager build a single JAR file from multiple sources (i.e. my bin and res folders)? What do I have to do in my code so that the same code can be used to load resources when I'm running in Eclipse and the self-contained deployment?
I've never used the javafx-packager and have always used the above instead. However, I assumed I was missing out on some optimization related to example 9-5 and example 9-6 of Deploying JavaFX Applications: Preloaders | JavaFX 2 Tutorials and Documentation. I always assumed the supported packaging:
1) Loads only the JARs / resources needed to launch the Preloader. 2) Launches the Preloader. 3) Loads all other application JARs / resources. 4) Launches the application.
Now I'm thinking that's only the case for Web Start deployments. For standalone deployments is it the same as a normal Java application where all of the application JARs are included as part of the classpath?
i am making a program which uses porter stemmer library for stemming words. I have added/included a jar file "porter-stemmer-1.4-sources.jar" to my project, I am facing an error that "package org.tartarus.martin does not exists" , i am using net beans IDE.
I'm trying to search a library program by book index and running into some trouble with my HashMap. Here's the code in question:
Java Code:
public String searchByBookIndex(int input) { NumberFormat fmt = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance(); Map<Integer, Book> bookMap = new HashMap<>(); for (int i = 0; i < author.booksByAuthor.size(); i++) { bookMap.put(author.booksByAuthor.get(i).getBookIndex(), book);
[Code] ....
The search itself works fine; however, the problem is that the values of everything in the HashMap are overwritten by the last book entry. For example, let's say there are four books (index in parenthesis):
The Book (1), A Wonderful Book (2), A Great Book (3), A Bad Book (4).
Once the code above iterates, the HashMap out is this (via println):
1 = A Bad Book, 2 = A Bad Book, 3 = A Bad Book, 4 = A Bad Book.
While making my holiday program and trying to use the Jansi library to add color to the console text,
I got this output:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Uncompilable source code - package org.fusesource.jansi does not exist at Main.<clinit>
I am trying to make a translator program that will convert english to my custom binary. It works going from english to binary, but not going from binary to english.
import java.util.Scanner; public class Translator { public static void main ( String [] args ) { Scanner input = new Scanner( System.in ); System.out.print( "Would you like to convert English to Binary (yes or no)? " ); String answer = input.nextLine();
i have been given a homework assignment where I have to get rid of a stack object I wrote for a program and replace it with the Stack<E> library java offers ie:
public class Stack<E> extends Vector<E> { public Stack(); // constructor public Boolean empty(); public E peek(); public E pop(); public E push(E item); }
my question is do i have to actually write all these methods? Or can i just construct a stack and use the methods?
I search this source code in google about library system then i run this in my JCreator then that error appear . I think that problem is all about "main". where can i put that main ?
I have a java code that should sort an array of names based on the last name. e.g jane a, jane b, jane z, jane d should be jane a, jane b, jane d, jane z. I have the following code but for some reasons, the s1 in the comparator method is always null.
public class ShuffleName { public static void sortNames(String[] names){ Arrays.sort( names, new Comparator<String>() { public int compare( String s1, String s2 ) { String s1last = s1.split("s+")[1]; String s2last = s2.split("s+")[1]; return s1last.compareTo(s2last);
I am working on some enhancement on application. I have a requirement. The flow is as below
In a jsp file one selection dropdown exists and a body. Selection dropdown is written as custom tag library and is included in jsp file eg tag.tld whose code exists in tag.java code for other parts of jsp are written in that *.jsp file itself. eg test.jsp
i.e test.jsp calls tag.tld to include selection dropdown
I now want a hashmap created in tag.java to be available in jsp file and I want to use it in one of the javascript function available in same jsp file for validation
i need a java library function that searches the stream of tcp packets coming to my computer from a particular ip address, so i can perform regular expressions on the contents of those packets.
I am trying to use the JList to display a list of students. Now, each student has a first name, last name and course taken. each courses taken by the student has its' own name, level and idNumber. For now, I am just trying to create my own custom JList model for the students. I have the custom model as well as the button event calling it. Unfortunately, when I click the button to display the student info added, the component is NOT fired up!..
I am not sure what I have done wrong regarding creating the component because I can display the information on the console and the list contains everything I have added but just to display it on the component is NOT working. I have broken the codes into sub classes, you can add the classes to the same package or create sub packages to insert individual classes.
The student class
public class Student { private String studentName; private String studentID ; public String getStudentName(){ return studentName;
I am trying to use a custom listener to initialize database connection pool (C3P0) on start up and then destroy on context shut down. The reason for that is that I whenever context is shutdown I have a memory leak because initialized connection pool is not being destroyed.
I have a static class called C3P0Utils that deals with connection pool. In my listener in contextInitialized method I have tried at first to init the pool like this :
I know that object is created. I checked it using jconsole. However it is not accessible with in the application. My second attempt was to regester the pool and then add it to the context and then when I need it read from there.
I want to print data on invoice receipt size of 20.5 x 14 cm(hard copy). In which I try to put text at some absolute location. I tried iText first. In that I try to set page size by following code. here what is unite used in bracket of rectangle?
Document document = new Document(new Rectangle(552,377)); PdfWriter.getInstance(document, new FileOutputStream("report.pdf")); document.open(); ... ... ... document.close();
Second I tried Jasper report. In that I set page size to 20.5 x 14 cm. But how can I take value from my java application's textfield and put it in to some absolute location in iReport.As I know jasper report take value from database but how can I take value from java application's textfiled?
I am more familiar with iText. How can I print custom invoice using iText or Jasper Report.I am developing java application using netbeans.
I am working on a calculator for Android.To make sure the application I am developing works with multiple operations (in the correct order) I decided to use ANTLR as part of my Java coding of the calculator. So in a separate file (.g4 file), I must declare the format of the expression.
After which I need to include the ANTLR class library in my Java Class. Then I believe I need to call a set of functions such as createLexerInterpreter and createParserInterpreter, but I am not sure. I will be having an algorithm string that will need to be parsed, such as " 3+4*5+8*9+(5/6) ".
Have written a program to open Excel sheet from java program.Below line works fine.
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{""C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice12Excel.EXE"","C:UsersRASHPA~ 1.ORAAppDataLocalTempExport_xl420314062726 9379706.xls"});
But below code gives error i.e. Executable name has embedded quote, split the arguments
I'm creating a program that will compile and run another java program:Lets say I have a program in directory
D:HelloWorldsrc and compiled program will be in D:HelloWorldin inside src and bin is a folder hello (that's a package)
package hello; public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World"); System.out.println("Hello World"); } }
This program will be run by another program (that's the program that I am creating).Here is the code of my program:
package runnercompiler; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; public final class RunnerCompiler {
