Parse Value Of Array Of Object Passed Through A Parameter
Oct 29, 2014
I'm working on a method that would parse the value of the array of object that I passed through a parameter. I would like to ask if making Object as a parameter is doable. Let's say I have a class Student and Teacher. I created a class the would handle the sched and name it class Schedule and extend this class to the Student and Teacher. Now I want to have a function that will accept an array of Schedule from either Student and Teacher, what ever object I will pass in the parameter. I know its easy to just make a method with a separate parameter of my classes but im looking for a more dynamic code.
class Student extends Schedule{
//variables here for student
}
[code]
class Teacher extends Schedule{
//variables here for teacher
}
[/code]
private void parseObject(ArrayList<Object> objct){
Schedule temp = objct.get(0);
//there is no error in this part
}
Now when i will try to use the function and pass a data, it will not accept since my parameter should be an array of object. How would I twist dis one?
ArrayList<Student> temp_student = new Array....
parseObject(temp_student); // it will not accept my parameter, how would i make it as an object
How does the Scanner goes through the String which is passed to it as a parameter. For example, String input = "222 dddd 222 ddd22" is passed to the method and here's the code:
Java Code:
public static void sum(String anything) { Scanner input = new Scanner(anything) while(input.hasNext()) { if(input.hasNextDouble()) { double nextNumber = inut.nextDouble(); sum += nextNumber } ...... ...... } mh_sh_highlight_all('java'); {
So, how does Scanner calculates a passed String? I just want to know the way it calculates/reads.
I'm trying to pull the authors from this Json object but I'm having issues trying to pull the author only, I'm only able to get a huge string which is a valid JSON object i tested it in [URL]
I created the WSDL first in RSA and then created the java bean skelaton from the WSDL. There are a couple of dateTime fields in the WSDL that are created as GregorianCalendar objects.
When I test with SOAPui and the date fields are passed correctly, everything works great. But when there is an invalid date format or anything else in the SOAP request, instead of returning a Conversion exception or some other validation exception, the field is passed as a null to the request object in the SOAP IMPL. Should't this return an exception?
Sample requests inputs: <endTimeStamp>2014-01-28T01:30:14.474Z</endTimeStamp> - Date <endTimeStamp>06-FEB-14 01.51.00.000000000 AM</endTimeStamp> - Null <endTimeStamp>Any other string be it a date or not.</endTimeStamp> - Null
And as it is now, the values are not being passed into the shapeArray array. If I "hard code" two shapes into the array in this class, everything works fine later on, but I do not manage to pass values into the array from the createShape() method. I tried several approaches, nothing works.
Now, i have an array of Client, so I would like to enter within this. Example:
public void addClient(Client c){ for (int i = 0; i<client.length ; i++) { // client is an array of Client object client[i] = c; // Enter a c in the array, but does not work! System.out.println("test "+clienti[i]); // print Client@15db9743 } }
I have used the println for check if worked insertion, but the result shows no
combo is the private CombinationLocker object I created within the Locker class. Do I need to pass the combo object on to the CombinationLock class? For reason, I do not comprehend, the combination password from the main class is not passing through to the CombinationLock class, and the combination values are all zero.
I have a class of Date with a constructor with 3 parameters in it. Those 3 parameters are int data type just to enter month, year, day.
I have another class called Author which has a constructor of Date diedDate; as a parameter passing to the Author constructor.
I was asked to call the Date parameter is null, call the default constructor but I thought for the Date parameter I could only enter something like 0,0,0 instead of typing in null, null, null because null is for String data type isn't it?
If the user enters the command line shown above, how many elements are contained in the array which is passed to "public static void main(String args[])" in TestCommandLine?
Choice 1 Four Choice 2 Five Choice 3 Six Choice 4 Seven Choice 5 Nine
public static void doSomething(List<? extends GenericClass> input) { // op }
^
This compiles and works, ensuring I can only pass in a List of a type extending GenericClass.But now I want it to accept an Array instead of List. This is where I'm stuck:
public static void doSomething(<? extends GenericClass>[] input) { // op }
^
A wrong guess at the syntax which does not compile. One solution is to convert Array into ArrayList before calling the 1st method above, but I'd rather bypass this if possible.
I am trying to make a class definition file for an ASCII File.
Ultimately, I want to be able to add methods to allow the image produced by the file to be printed normally, then printed with various manipulations.
However, for some reason, whenever I try to run the program to test my normalPrint method, it terminates without printing anything.
I think this is because the array's values width and height are not within the scope of the method. I tried passing the array as a parameter for the method like so:
Java Code:
public void normalPrint(char [][] poop){ //method here } mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
But it gave me an error that stated
"The method normalPrint(char[][]) in the type asciiFile is not applicable for the arguments ()"
Class Definition:
Java Code:
import java.io.*; import java.util.Scanner; public class asciiFile { int height; int width;
Assuming that we have two classes B and C which inherit from class A. What is the best way to pass a parameter from an object of class B to an object of class C by the use of class A without using static variable and without defining a get function in B?
so i have this question where it wants me to create a recursion method that takes ONLY THE ARRAY as a parameter, and without using loops or static variables inside the method, and then the method returns the smallest value in that array. However, i tried making the simple if statements where i compare the first element of the array with the second element using the length of the array and decreasing it to get the next elements and compare it again by calling the recursion method, but the problem is when i call the method again, the length does not decrease, even if i store it in a variable, the variable will initialize itself again, and the length wont change.
i have to "Write a method called addToOverThirty which takes the array nums3 as a parameter. It adds 1 to all numbers that have a value greater than 30 in the array.
Add a call to the addToOverThirty method, then display a message telling what the output is followed by the results For example:The nums3 array after adding 1 to all numbers greater than 30 is10 6 15 and so on (check with the values you assigned to nums3)"its pointless because we were told not to make the array have a number over 30.
import java.lang.*; import java.util.*; public class LastProject public static void main(String[] args) { int nums1[] = new int[15]; int nums2[] = new int[15]; int nums3[] = {5,2,15,8,26,22,1,29,4,23,30,11,19,6,24};
I'm learning about inheritance and on this problem I first have to create a class where I get/set methods and get user input for the data fields.
I suppose I should know it at this point but I don't know how to get the users name when they input it. I copied the whole code but the issue is at line 51.
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Order { private String customerName; private int customerNumber; private int quantityOrdered; private double unitPrice; private double totalPrice;
I have date in string ex: 2014-08-08T17:38:58.316+05:30 and want to convert into 2014/08/08 17:38:58. I am using below code :
String date1="2014-08-08T17:38:58.316+05:30"; SimpleDateFormat formatter, FORMATTER; formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSS'Z'"); String oldDate = "2011-03-10T11:54:30.207Z"; Date date = formatter.parse(oldDate.substring(0, 24)); FORMATTER = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MMM-yyyy HH:mm:ss.SSS"); System.out.println("OldDate-->"+oldDate); System.out.println("NewDate-->"+FORMATTER.format(date));
this giving me required value, but when i replace oldDate with date1 it shows me exception that not parse to date. Actually i am getting date in string of 2014-08-08T17:38:58.316+05:30 which i need to convert into date 2014/08/08 17:38:58. To convert into date i am using below code :
SimpleDateFormat simpleDateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/M/yyyy hh:mm:ss"); Date datecomp1 = simpleDateFormat.parse(String );
The issue is to convert 2014-08-08T17:38:58.316+05:30 into 2014/08/08 17:38:58.
I want to parse a java file (i.e., I need write some code which understand the content of a given java file--> the name of this java file will be entered as input). Then, after my code understand the content of the given java file, map this java file into another target language or platform. the output from my code is the new file which can run on the target language or platform.in the current state, I want to write some code which can understand a java file and can parse its content and display it on the console.
I am new to java. is there any possibility to store parse tree in database such as mqsql, oracle, etc. My requirement is [URL] ..... I found some code about generating parse tree. my next step is store that tree in database.
I'm just starting out with learning how to process/parse XML data in Java, following online code/tutorials. I am currently only printing out "catalog."
I'm using Netbeans with glassfish server 4. When i try to launche the web page, i see that "nome" is not printed... Why? My older projects that uses EL, still works fine, while this wont' parse the syntax... why??
