So I need to print out the table of conversions from kilogram to pound and from pounds to kilograms. I think I have done a while loop correctly, but it is hard to actually check it since I do not have proper output format. I have tried also %4.2f format option however could not find the proper position in the print.
public static void main (String[] args){ System.out.printf("%10s%10s | %10s%10s ", "Kilograms", "Pounds", "Kilograms", "Pounds"); System.out.println("---------------------------------------------");
import java.util.Scanner; public class Bill { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner console = new Scanner(System.in); //final variables Premium Service final double monthlyChargeP = 25.00; final double FordayminutesP = 0.10;
[Code] ....
I can't find the syntax on {} my block is highlighted red in my application
I need this program to print out the gpa down to 2 decimal places and I can't figure out how to do it. It keeps saying it can't find decimal format and I'm not sure how to define it.
Java Code:
import java.util.Scanner; public class GPACalculator { public static void main(String[] args) { double creditHours = 0; double gradePoints = 0;
so I need my program to print in decimal format and I keep getting an error saying that it cant find symbol "decimalFormat". here's what I have so far.
import java.util.Scanner; public class GPACalculator { public static void main(String[] args) { int creditHours = 0; int gradePoints = 0;
So I make a HashMap which is pretty simple. My book showed me how I would print all the values in a format showing their key a ": " and the the actual value. What I don't understand is why the type element for the for each loop is the interface, Map.Entry.
I am trying to do this program. it compiles and everything but the numbers are not coming out right. Heres the problem.
Write a program that computes the tax and tip on a restaurant bill. The program should use JOptionPane to ask the user to enter the charge for the meal. The tax should be 6.75 percent of the meal charge. The tip should be 15 percent of the total after adding the tax. Display the meal charge, tax amount, tip amount, and total bill on the screen.
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Bill { public static void main(String[] args) { double mealPurchase = 0; mealPurchase = Double.parseDouble(JOptionPane.showInputDialog(nul l, " Enter meal total: "));
why am I not getting a proper shape of "Leftarrow"? The result should look like the following (the system draws the arrow abnormally, so the beginning should a real ARROW:
*
* *
* *
* * * * * * * * *
* *
* *

here is the class:
Java Code: public class LeftArrow extends ShapeBase { private int lengthOfTail; private int widthOfArrowHead;
Your sales associates need a program where they can enter customer information and calculate the customer's total bill. When the sales associate enters the program they should be presented with this main menu.
Enter customer information Display Total Bill Quit
If the sales associate selects option 1, the program should allow the sales associate to input their name, address, and e-mail address. Your program should then display this customer information to the screen with a message that the customer has been added to the customer list.
If the sales associate selects option 2, the program should ask the sales associate for the customer's name, product that the customer is purchasing, the quantity, and the price of the product. The total bill will then be displayed to the screen and should include the following:
- The customer's name. - The product the customer is purchasing, the quantity, and total cost - The amount of tax 8% - The total cost with tax.
Example Total Bill Output:
John Doe
Product Purchased Quantity Total Cost Shoes 2 $100.00 Tax 8%: $8.00 Total Cost: $108.00
I have a signed certificate from Entrust which I used to sign a DeploymentRuleSet.xml file. I placed the DeploymentRuleSet.jar in the proper location C:WindowsSunJavaDeployment, afterward the java control panel's security tab shows a link to "show the active deployment rule set" which did not exist prior to coping the file to the directory. When I click on the link a new window opens and says "Rule Set not found" ....
Below is a method that is suppose to insert a value inside a stack based on the index. I thought it would be easier to copy the value, if any, that was in the index into the variable holder and replace it with the input value. After in which it would copy the holder value and place it at the top of the stack. (topOfStack variable is what the holder is copying too.)
public void pushExact (int index, String input) { String holder = ""; if (maxSize == 0) { theStack[topOfStack] = input; topOfStack++; } else if (topOfStack + 1 < maxSize) { for (int n= maxSize - 1;n >= 0;n--) {
This is the code that I need to do without using the Joptionpane:
An Internet service provider has three different subscription packages for its customers:
Package A: For $9.95 per month 10 hours of access are provided. Additional hours are $2.00 per hour.
Package B: For $13.95 per month 20 hours of access are provided. Additional hours are $1.00 per hour.
Package C: For $19.95 per month unlimited access is provided.
Write a program that calculates a customer's monthly bill. It should ask the user to enter the letter of the package the customer has purchased (A, B, or C) and the number of hours that were used. It should then display the total charges.
This is what I have so far : Cannot use Joptionpaneshowinputdialog
/* A demonstration of how to use Decision Structures
import java.util.Scanner;
/** This program demonstrates a switch statement. */
public static void main(String[] args) { char packageLetter; int hoursUsed;
(5,0) with cost 12 (6,0) with cost 14 (6,1) with cost 15 (6,2) with cost 20 (7,2) with cost 44 (7,3) with cost 52 (7,4) with cost 54 (6,3) with cost 71 (5,3) with cost 74 (4,3) with cost 96
Greatest path is of length 10.
Now, the code that I have works, kind of. Instead of recurring several times at each point, it only recurs once.
So say I'm looking at (1,1). With (1,1) being 57. The area around it looks like this.
97 47 56 35 57 41 89 36 98
Now when I look at it, there are several paths it can take. It can go 57, 97 or 57, 89 or 57, 98. However, I'm pretty sure that it just uses the first one that corresponds with the first if statement that is valid. So I start checking north of the value, then northeast, then east, then southeast, which at southeast is where I find my first greater than value. After it finds it's first valid number, it then continues from that number, instead of checking if there are other longer paths stemming from the original value.
In conjunction with that, you can see that the printout just returns all paths from each value. Which isn't what I want. I need a way to store the longest current path, then check each path after to see if it's longer. If it is, it's replaced, if not, it stays the same.
I've also attached Ass1Q2_test4.txt
import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class MaxIncreasingSub {
You are given 2 files - "testcase.txt" and "validwords.txt".In testcase.txt, the sentences are written without any space inbetween/for ex: this is a sentence which looks ambigous.You are to insert a space at the proper place by breaking the sentence into correct words, ex o/p: this is a sentence which looks ambigous.validwords.txt contains all valid words (as 1 word per line). If you find a word that does not match, replace it with ####. After correcting
I am not sure how to incorporate the rate per month and the three rate zones.
Problem: Electricity billing charges vary with the season and amount used.
Southwest Power and Light provides electricity at the basic rate of $ 0.10 per kilowatt for the months December through February, 0.12 per kilowatt for the months of March through May, and 0.15 per kilowatt for the remaining months.
Customer billing is divided into three rate zones: 0-350 kilowatts, 351 – 500 kilowatts, and above 500 kilowatts. Usage up to 350 kilowatts is billed at the basic rate. Usage between 350 and 500 kilowatts is billed at 10% above the basic rate. Above 500, billing is 25% above the basic rate. These surcharges apply only to the usage falling within the respective rate zone.
Here's the code: it's while loop inside a for loop to determine the proper length of a variable:
for (int i = 0; i < num; i++) { horse[i]=new thoroughbred(); boolean propernamelength = false; while (propernamelength==false){ String name = entry.getUserInput("Enter the name of horse "

I was just wondering what was going on here -- I've initialized the variable, so why do I get this message? (actually the carat was under the variable name inside the parentheses.
Basically the class is supposed to have a static variable that keeps track of the number of companies (numberOfCompanies) that have been created and a static method that returns the value of this variable. I need to have a constructor and a method to addEmployee, a method to printCompany, and a toString method. The addEmployee method will check that there is only 1 salesperson, 2 designers, and 4 manufacturing persons at a time and will check that there are no more than 7 employees of the company.
The addEmployee method will return a String indicating what the error is (i.e. "There is already a sales person in this company") or a null if the employee was added. If attempting to name a third company, an error message will be shown. what i have so far but my print company mmethod returns null company class :in which i am obliged to use inputdialog because it says that it cannot return void when i use the showmeassage diaolog.
company class:
import java.util.ArrayList; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Company { private ArrayList<Employees> list ; private static int numberOfCompanies;

why the default date format that the textbox accepts is in 'mm/dd/yyyy'.For example if i entered "13-05-2014" then it would return an error stating date is invalid.If i entered "12-05-2014" then it would return "5 Dec, 2014".I did not declare any dateformat anywhere except for the datepickers which as shown above, is 'd MMM, yyyy'.Before this happened i trialed and error many different kind of codes to try to validate the date however it all didnt work and so i reverted it all back to the original codes.Last time the dateformat that the textbox accepted was 'dd/mm/yyyy' and it worked fine with my javascript function except the validation part.
Now it still works except that the dateformat changed to 'mm/dd/yyyy'.I did try to use console.log to find out what's wrong but there were no error messages.Why has the dateformat changed by itself?
