So I need to print out the table of conversions from kilogram to pound and from pounds to kilograms. I think I have done a while loop correctly, but it is hard to actually check it since I do not have proper output format. So I make a HashMap which is pretty simple. My book showed me how I would print all the values in a format showing their key a ": " and the the actual value. What I don't understand is why the type element for the for each loop is the interface, Map.Entry.

I have a signed certificate from Entrust which I used to sign a DeploymentRuleSet.xml file. I placed the DeploymentRuleSet.jar in the proper location C:WindowsSunJavaDeployment, afterward the java control panel's security tab shows a link to "show the active deployment rule set" which did not exist prior to coping the file to the directory. I thought it would be easier to copy the value, if any, that was in the index into the variable holder and replace it with the input value. Now, the code that I have works, kind of. Instead of recurring several times at each point, it only recurs once.
So say I'm looking at (1,1). With (1,1) being 57. The area around it looks like this.

Now when I look at it, there are several paths it can take. It can go 57, 97 or 57, 89 or 57, 98. However, I'm pretty sure that it just uses the first one that corresponds with the first if statement that is valid. So I start checking north of the value, then northeast, then east, then southeast, which at southeast is where I find my first greater than value. After it finds it's first valid number, it then continues from that number, instead of checking if there are other longer paths stemming from the original value.
In conjunction with that, you can see that the printout just returns all paths from each value. Which isn't what I want. I need a way to store the longest current path, then check each path after to see if it's longer. If it is, it's replaced, if not, it stays the same.

I was just wondering what was going on here -- I've initialized the variable, so why do I get this message? (actually the carat was under the variable name inside the parentheses.
Basically the class is supposed to have a static variable that keeps track of the number of companies (numberOfCompanies) that have been created and a static method that returns the value of this variable. I need to have a constructor and a method to addEmployee, a method to printCompany, and a toString method. The addEmployee method will check that there is only 1 salesperson, 2 designers, and 4 manufacturing persons at a time and will check that there are no more than 7 employees of the company.
The addEmployee method will return a String indicating what the error is (i.e. "There is already a sales person in this company") or a null if the employee was added. If attempting to name a third company, an error message will be shown. what i have so far but my print company mmethod returns null company class :in which i am obliged to use inputdialog because it says that it cannot return void when i use the showmeassage diaolog.

why the default date format that the textbox accepts is in 'mm/dd/yyyy'.For example if i entered "13-05-2014" then it would return an error stating date is invalid.If i entered "12-05-2014" then it would return "5 Dec, 2014".I did not declare any dateformat anywhere except for the datepickers which as shown above, is 'd MMM, yyyy'.Before this happened i trialed and error many different kind of codes to try to validate the date however it all didnt work and so i reverted it all back to the original codes.Last time the dateformat that the textbox accepted was 'dd/mm/yyyy' and it worked fine with my javascript function except the validation part.
Now it still works except that the dateformat changed to 'mm/dd/yyyy'.I did try to use console.log to find out what's wrong but there were no error messages.Why has the dateformat changed by itself?
I'm doing a project in JSP and Oracle..Here in my project there are two types of department.. Accounts and Sales.. Accounts department is able to download some pages to Excel format and it is working properly.. now in the sales they have to download in pdf format.. then only it is possible to send to the HO..now what they are doing is downloading the JSP page in excel format and converting to pdf manually using the Acrobat Printer.. is that possible to change to pdf format.. for converting to excel format.. i'm just using 2 linesand it is here
