I'm doing a exercise for dragging mouse to draw a line. I found a code to do this, but I don't know something in the code. example array Shape in the code.
Is there a possibility to use events for additional mouse buttons, like the next or previous mouse buttons, in javafx? If I use the setOnMousePressed event on a node, it only throws an event for the "PRIMARY" "SECONDARY" and "MIDDLE" buttons.
If I use this java application [URL] .... it is also possible to throw events for the next or previous mouse buttons of the mouse. But not in my javafx application.
I have my paint application, i use the following mouse event to draw my shapes (mousePressed, mouseReleased, mouseDragged). Now after the user paint a circle for example, he must be able to drag the shape; to be able to do this. i think i must again implement the different mouse Events. I have done it and the drag is not working. How can i achieve this. can we implement multiple (mousePressed, mouseReleased, mouseDragged) in the same java class??
I've been trying to draw a panel on a frame with simple drawString drawRect and oval but when i run it the frame shows up with the exit on close stuff but nothing will show inside . this is my code :
import java.awt.Graphics; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.JFrame; class Draw extends JPanel{ public void paintcomponents(Graphics g){ super.paintComponent(g); g.drawLine(10,15,20,30);
[Code] .....
I'm not sure what's wrong , probably something to do from this pc ? since in the lab work at uni it worked fine .
I currently have the code set up to iterate through objects and keep track of them but how do I do the same and draw the objects on the panel window? I'm confused on what to do and how to start it.
Here's the code I have so far, the 'Car' which I want to draw extends to another class which extends to GameObject. I currently have a 'draw()' method under the 'Car' class but nothing in the 'draw()' method yet. From what I understand i'm suppose to have a 'draw()' method under 'GameObjects' class also?
public class MapView extends JPanel implements IObserver, ActionListener{ JPanel myPanel; private Timer timer = new Timer(5, this); int x = 0; int moveX = 2; public MapView(){ super.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Map:"));
[code]....
Mostly I don't understand how to go through the iterator again to paint the objects. Wouldn't I need to put another iterator under 'paintComponent()' or can it be done under 'update()' ?
how to get some shapes from the GameObjects onto my panel.
This is what he wants: He wants us to prompt the user to input x values and y values (that will be entered into an array when clicking one of the two buttons (this one will say: Add point)). When they click the second button (draw lines), it should take all the points and draw a line that connects all the points together using a method that we write. In the method we have to call the paint method up which the lines will be drawn. The lines drawn should be touching every point added. It shouldn't have parameters. It will also use Graphics painter = getGraphics(); We can't use frames either.
I have everything up until the method understood.
How to write a method that will draw a line from points inputted that is called up in the action listener when the second button (draw lines) is pressed.
When i click on the button from bottom panel, top panel need to be redrawn. But redrawing is not happening. It happens only when resizing the applet.
public class Graphics_Chart(){ public init(){ JScrollPane topPane = new JScrollPane(new ImagePanel2()); topPane.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_NEVER); topPane.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_NEVER);
I have a program that runs in the terminal (I use Ubuntu). It asks the user for a String, does something with it, and terminates.It works in the NetBeans terminal, but not outside of it. Specifically, regardless of what I input, it doesn't continue with the program. I enter something, press enter and it just goes to the next line in the terminal.
Java Code:
Scanner scan=new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Enter the music directory:"); String path=scan.nextLine(); mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
how do I pass in arguments when I run the program (still in Linux)? Is there a way to check if the program was launched from the terminal or not?
Write a program that reads in a line of text and then outputs that line of text first in all uppercase letters and then in all lowercase letters.
INPUT and PROMPTS. The program prompts for a line of text as follows: "Enter the text: " and then reads in an entire line of text as a String .
OUTPUT . There are four lines of output . The first line is "The text in all upper case is: ". The second line is the line that was read in, displayed in all uppercase. The third line is "The text in all lower case is: " and the fourth line is the original line that was read in, displayed in all lowercase.
CLASS NAMES. Your program class should be called ShoutAndWhisper.
[import java.util.Scanner; public class ShoutAndWhisper { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner scannerObject = new Scanner(System.in);
I am trying to only allow the user to input numbers. But I need to enter a number twice before it moves to the next line statement and also skips a line when i enter th number a second time.
How can I go around fixing this.
My code for this is
case 1: do{ Event event = new Event(); out.println("Please Enter the name."); event.setEvent(input.next()); input.nextLine();
public static void main(String[] args) throws FileNotFoundException, IOException{ // TODO code application logic here FileReader fr = new FileReader("gautam.txt"); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr); int line = 0; int word = 0; int character = 0; String s; while((s=br.readLine())!=null)
I am reading the excellent book Algorithms. The author of this book is using his own libraries.
I have downloaded the libraries (it is a file called stdlib.jar) and I've store it in a directory called ~/Downloads(I am using a macbook pro).
Then I have created a project with IntelliJ Idea 14.1 using the default package (as it is the only way for a program to 'see' these libraries).
The program is running inside the ide, but because of the nature of this book, all the included code must be run from the command line.
The problem is that I cannot run for example the Average class from the command line because the system asks for the external library.
Specifically the error is :
I enter : java -cp . Average
and the Error I get is :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: StdIn at Average.main(Average.java:11) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: StdIn at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:372)
[Code] ....
The Average class is the following :
public class Average { public static void main(String[] args) { //Average the numbers on StdIn double sum = 0.0; int cnt = 0;
Write a java program to accept a string, float and an integer as command line arguments. String value should be displayed. Also the program should display the maximum value of two numbers. Use Integer.parseInt() and Float.parseFloat()
Me and my brother decided to make a relatively simple client/server program where clients get into a simple chat lobby and can invite others to play small games(like pong). The basic server code has been written, and we have made a special client that is used for debugging.
We use a self-defined protocol of Strings where a message looks like "4-|user,pass". The number before the delimiter "-|" is the operation code, that tells the server what kind of message this client sends. Based on that number, the server dispatches the message to the appropriate handler method. 4 is authentication for example, and the handler looks the user and pass up in a file and if found, returns true, otherwise, false. Then the server responds to the clinet with 2-|"any message" where the client will recognize opcode 2 as a "authentication accepted" and proceed with the next part of client code. In a similar way, we plan to write all message types(both in the game, in the lobby and in a game setup room).
While testing we ran into a problem where the BufferedReader .readLine() does not seem to be a blocking call like it should be, so the client keeps spamming 'null' in the output field that we made to see the server response to the message we send. When we try to debug the server code and set breakpoints at the suspicious locations, it strangely skips both while(true) loops without activating either breakpoint and executes the finally{} code, even though the client did not close the connection and the second while loop was never entered. The first while loop IS entered though, because the test client gets a "0" on its output, which is the server message indicating "please authenticate yourself".
We decided to use messages in a string format and decode it at both sides as it seemed easier than transmitting java objects and making sure they are of the same type, also for reducing overhead as much of possible.URL....
I have wrote this class who read from text line by line and save the words in fileOnTable.. Now i don't know what to read in ReadOffer to save the words in object offers and return this.. One more question.. What JUnit test can write for this code..?
My requirement is to find the line number using multiline string. Here I need to extract the string between FROM and where clause(from the below string) and need to find the line number in the file
SELECT HL.LOCATION_ID,HPS.PARTY_SITE_ID,HCAS.CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID INTO LN_SITE_LOCATION_ID,LN_LOC_PARTY_SITE_ID,LN_CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID FROM HZ_LOCATIONS HL, HZ_PARTY_SITES HPS,
How do I make the file reader object move to the next line if there is no more input on the line. Here is my text and output file as you can see that my text file column cuts off on the 2nd line after 70. I want to read that next line which is 100 into my labs variable however its reading it into my final exams variable. I'll also post the code but I didn't think it was necessary.
textfile: 100908095 1008070 10070
output: Labs Projects Tests Final Exams 100908095 1008070100 70
[import java.util.Scanner; import java.io.*; public class MyGrades { public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException { int lab, project, test; int finalExam;//Par and Player values
So I am trying to finish this assignment I am not sure how to approach the last part of it. Basically, I need to give the drop down menu functions. For example if you press tennis it will give explanation about tennis lessons.
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.awt.Color; public class JMenuFrame extends JFrame implements ActionListener { private JMenuBar mainBar = new JMenuBar();
If I want to read my file line by line and when it hits a certain value from that point it should start deleting the lines until the tag ends.Just curious will my code actually work at the moment or not because it goes through so many times then goes straight back to the variable declarations at the start of the method and never hits the console print line.
public void removeEnvironment(){ //declare variable to environment id String environmentID = "Environment id"; String lines = null; boolean lineFound = false; boolean end = false;
I'm creating a program that searches a txt file for a given string, then return the number line and the line itself. However, my testFile class isn't detecting my searchWord methods.
The searchWord and recursiveSearch is written in a java class called BasicFile
public List<String> searchWord(String key) throws Exception { LineNumberReader lnr = new LineNumberReader(new FileReader(f)); return recursiveSearch(lnr.readLine(), key, lnr); } public List<String> recursiveSearch(String currentLineText, String key, LineNumberReader lnr)
[code]....
Is it because I'm using a list instead of a string?
I'm doing an assignment for uni and have come across a small hiccup. What I'm trying to do is scan in a text file and read "commands" for it line by line, E.g:
Student Mary 12345 19 Student Joe 12346 19 Change Joe 19 20 Change Mary 19 20
So that lines that begin with the word "Student" indicate that I should create a new student file with that name, student ID, and age.
"Change" indicates that I should be changing the specified student's current age to the new age etc.
What I'm currently doing is something along the lines of this:
Scanner input = new Scanner(new FileReader(args[0])); String[] line; while (input.nextLine().startsWith("Student")) { line = input.nextLine().split("s+");
[Code] ....
The problem I'm having is that every second line seems to be getting skipped (because I'm calling nextLine() so much?) but I can't think of a way to "peek" at the first word of each line without advancing past it. Is there any way of doing this?
