My problem is to read a text file which contains lines of text data
{e.g: #1115=CLOSED_SHELL(",(#166,#208,#250.....#1114));}
I need to break it and #numbers in braces are assigned to string array and they should cal by one by one. similarly next level on calling #166 same operation should perform
{#166=ADVANCED_FACE(",(#165),#129,.F.);}
like this 8 levels were there, finally at each level the Calling number should display in JTable.

I am supposed to read in a file and extract the data. I am trying to add a Long into an Array that I initialized. So this is how my method looks like :

I have 3 csv files as follows -
author file columns - emailID | firstname | lastname
books file columns - title | isbn | author_email | description
magazine file Columns - title | isbn | author_email | releasedate
I need to display -
1) Based on the ISBN display all books and magazines
2) All books and magazines by an author
3) All books and magazines by title
I am using Buffered reader as of now -
String csvFileToRead = "csvFiles/authors.csv";
BufferedReader br = null;
String line = "";
String splitBy = ";";

I am confused about how to proceed with multiple files. Here are the approaches that i have considered -
1) change string csv csvFileToRead to a string array -
String[] csvFileToRead = {"data/autoren.csv", "data/buecher.csv", "data/zeitschriften.csv"};
Pass each index each time to a method returning all rows but getting stuck with DS to use. I think ArrayList wont suffice since i need separated data. Should i use a 2D array? Do i need to read and store data in a DS in order to achieve the goal?
2) Should i make 3 different classes with getters and setters for authors, book and magazine?

I'm trying to figure out the necessary code for reading integers from a text file, then placing them withing the two-dimensional array I have created, and then finally printing the array using a nested for-loop. I have attached the file I would like to read from. I'm having trouble figuring out how to reference the text file with the integers, and also how to properly create a dynamic preface for each row of the array. I want the preface to display as "Week #: ", with # being the row number. I tried to create an integer to be used that way, but NetBeans tells me whatever integer I declare has already been defined in method main. I know I need to use scanner to read the file. I would like the output to display like this:

New to programming. Am supposed to create a program that reads a text file (of integers) and computes a series of computations on these integers. I don't have the code for the integers in my code yet, (i know how to do those), but am struggling getting the array to simply print in the print writer. I have the user select a text file, read the file with a scanner, and then save the computations done from my code into another file. specifically, the problem is as follows: Write a program that uses a file chooser dialog to select a file containing some integers. The file contains an integer N followed by N integers. The program then uses a file chooser dialog to let the user specify the name and location of an output file to write results to.The data written to the output file will be as follows
(1) The original list of N numbers from the input file,
(2) The original list of N numbers printed in reverse order of how they appear
in the input file.
(3) The sum and average of these numbers,
(4) The minimum of all the numbers,
(5) The maximum of all the numbers.

Write a program that reads in a line of text and then outputs that line of text first in all uppercase letters and then in all lowercase letters.

I am wondering how could I read the last input from the user and if say it was an open curly brace {, then like netbean's my editor will supply the closing curly brace. I would like to have one horizontal scrollbar control the scrolling of two JScrollPane objects (each of which contains a JTable with similar models). The line of code that I hoped would give me what I want is this:
spUpper.setHorizontalScrollBar(spLower.getHorizontalScrollBar());
It does exactly what I want, except that the scrollbar appears on-screen in the spUpper JScrollPane, while the spLower JScrollPane no longer displays a scrollbar at all. That's the opposite of what I expected. Apparently, spUpper's setHorizontalScrollBar is "stealing" spLower's scrollbar.
An alternative is just to have each scrollbar use the same model, like this:
spUpper.getHorizontalScrollBar().setModel(spLower.getHorizontalScrollBar().getModel());
This links the two scrollbars such that either will control both JScrollPanes (and also the other scrollbar), but it leaves them both visible, which is not what I want. I would have thought this line would make one of them invisible:
spUpper.getHorizontalScrollBar().setVisible(false);
However, it seems to have no effect.
The full code using the first approach is below. My questions are these:
Am I correct that setHorizontalScrollBar not only sets which JScrollBar will control a JScrollPane, but also determines where it appears on the screen?If so, what happens to the original JScrollBar? Is it replaced or am I drawing one on top of the other (or something else)?Why doesn't setVisible(false) make the scrollbar disappear (and how can I do that)?

I am trying to read a text file into Java and split the text into tokens. Eventually I want to be able to count the number of instances of a specific word. However, at this point, when I run the file, all I get is the location of the file rather than the text in the file.

I'm working on a simple text editor, and I'm currently saving the contents of my JTextPane in a file using an HTMLEditorKit (text is a JTextPane):

The problem I'm having is that after opening a file that I saved, it does not display (if I disable text/html, it displays the entire html code, but when I re-enable it, nothing displays at all.) Am I loading it wrong, or am I setting the JTextPane's text incorrectly? Or is it, perhaps, another error that I didn't catch?

I have to write a program for sorting an array of random numbers by the users choice. These random numbers are stored in a text file, which the user inputs, and is then stored into an array for sorting. I won't have a problem with the sorting algorithms, but I've never had to read a text file and store it into an array before
The text file has the numbers stored like so :

etc....
I gather that I'll probably have to user the Scanner for the user to input the text file name, but how do I store it to an array? So far I only have the bones of the program done, like so

So I am saving a file. it is an array of two strings each containing three words. i figured out how to save to a text file and read it back in and put it back into an array. I am using scanner.hasnext and scanner.next and i think that separates the strings into variables using the spaces in the strings. Well for my project i need to do it with a symbol instead of a space
