Oct 6, 2014I am trying to display a list fetched from DB in a JSP.
My servlet mapping is:

The code in the servlet is:

The request is not coming back to the JSP page.
If I change the servlet and have "request.getRequestDispatcher("/pages/ViewCompletedWWDocs.jsp").forward(request, response);" un commented, I get exception "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot forward a response that is already committed".

I have written a code to download .csv file with records from DB.
To download records i am uploading a .CSV file containing telephone number.
After downloading the .CSV file page is not getting refreshed.
Below is the code snippet i am using,where i am setting response content type as test/csv.

Using MS Access Database In Java
Mar 19, 2014I want to make a database and use it in my java program. I am thinking of using MS Access database, although I m not very sure, sine I will have to use this data later in the SQL database as part of C# program.
How to start to create and use MS database in java program.
I have seen in one tutorial that the steps are:
1. Install your database management system (DBMS) if needed
2.Install a JDBC driver from the vendor of your database
but I am not familiar with this. Any example, or is this above compulsory?
Embed MS Access Database With Runnable Jar?
May 13, 2014my aim is to make a runnable jar. I've made a program using swings which uses MS Access database to fetch records. So, I've used an absolute path to refer to the database for connection. Now, I intend to distribute this runnable jar to other people as well. So I guess the best option would be to embed the MS Access database as well in the jar file. But I don't know how to do that. Where should I keep the database in my Project Explorer ? Should I use a relative path etc.

- asking for user credentials from an entry page and processing them inside a javabean to confirm they are equal to those kept in the system before granting further access.
- masking servlets paths in web.xml
- hiding client scripts in libraries that are kept on server
Do you know of other methods?

Jan 30, 2015The assignment is to create a program that accepts entries from a user for 3 variables then saves the data to a file. There are other programs that use the file created. One program displays the non-default records. The next program allows the user to enter the id for the employee and displays the first and last name for that id number. The last program allows the user to enter a first name. It then displays all id numbers and last names for records with that first name.
Given the above situation, I am stuck on creating the first program. I can make the text file and write the information to it. However, when the file is created, a space is placed in between each entry for some reason. I cannot figure out how to get rid of this space so that I can display the appropriate records for the remaining programs. Below is the code and a view of my problem.

Mar 15, 2015I am trying to make a simple login using netbeans, derby database included in netbeans and tomcat server. I made everything nice and separated: I have a model package with a class called DbConnector that has the following method:

I am positive that the above code function fine. The problem is whenever I call UserToDB() class inside the servlet, and I got this error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.postgresql.
Driver which mean that my conn (connection) is not connected to the database but I have ensure to do so by calling openConn() before start the transaction.
