JSF :: Components Inside Tag View
Jun 8, 2014In some examples I see jsf components inside the tag view, other times dont.
- Is it important to put all jsf components inside "the view" tag?
- What would be the difference not putting them inside this tag?
JTextPane Not Printing Components Inside It
Jun 10, 2014As I couldn't find a way to do the printing of multiple items on one page, I decided to test out my idea. I found that I could have a table in a JTextPane.
However, whenever I got to print, my table will vanish. It doesn't even need to go to the printer. Just bringing up the print dialog will make it vanish like tax money in D.C.
(Also, I'm not really that familiar with JTextPane and it seems harder than JTextArea. Which part is controlling the font of my regular text by the way? I think it might be tableParagraph but it could also be the base font. I can try and fiddle with both and waste paper but where the font is being set.
Setting the font with setFont() will vanish my table. )
Somehow, I'm thinking that the solution might be JTextPane.setContentType() or setEditorKit() or both. (I"m not that familiar with either, but I fear that it's only being set to handle text, hence any graphics are being lost.)

Servlets :: How To Create A Room That Should Be Like Static On The Server Until Server Is Down
Apr 1, 2014I am working on a chess game. I need to construct a game room where all the player are present and room chat is up. Also some tables where games are being played. Now my question is how to create this game room?
To me this room must need to be like static or global (if I am not mistaken) that is up when server starts and players can join this room and should be down when server is done. How can I implement such room that would stay up for infinite time.

Aug 11, 2014I'm new to json and the web. My purpose is to use json data from a server and parse it and show meaningful data to the user. I am aware of json parsing, so no sweat there. However, I would like to know how json data is sent to the front end after which it can be parsed.
Usually in my json parsing examples, I have a variable like var data = ]OR I do a getJSON on a data.json file which I have stored in the project folder. However, I want this data to come real time from a servlet. How to go about this?
So, basically my question is, how do I send real time json data from a servlet backend, say some records which I have extracted from the database using jdbc?

Once a request is sent, I want to create a thread that will sleep for several days if no user action is taken on the request to remind the user to do something. The problem is, how do I ensure the timer will pick up at the same place if the server is restarted? Would serializing the thread do that? I'm guessing no because I think you're just creating a new instance at start up. Just checking If there's anything built into Java to do this.

Sep 9, 2014I would like to know the details about how a server handles a multipart request. I know that a webserver comprises of a HTTP adapter(which is responsible for receiving http requests and sending http responses) and a container(which is responsible for handling dynamic requests).
So, when a client sends a request, the HTTP adapter receives it. Then transfers the request to the container if the http adapter cannot handle it(jsps, servlets for example).
Suppose, a client sends a multipart request which has an avi file of size upto 100mb. For example, lets assume that the client takes 5 minutes to upload the file.
Lets also assume that my application is only interested in flv files. Is there any way to stop/terminate the multipart request before the file is transferred to the server? So that the client's time will not be wasted?
I think that the HTTP adapter will transfer the request to the container only after receiving the entire request, i.e. the servlet will be called only after the file is transferred to the server from client. Is it right?
If its right then there is no easy way to terminate the multipart request unless the entire file is transferred to the server. Is this right?

Servlets :: Form Data Exceeding 10MB Gradually Which Is Not Being Accepted By Server
Jul 17, 2014I am currently working on a module where huge amount of data needs to be sent to the weblogic server. The limit on Weblogic-> Server - > Protocols is 10MB.
The huge data is coming when i try to add more than 20 rows to the Ajax request.
There are possible two solutions for this
1) Increase the limit on Weblogic server to 1Gb which might lead to server crash when two or more users are trying to add 100 records at the same time.
2) Send memory in the form of chunks of (length of a row) every time I add a row. Store this in session and upon form submission retrieve from session. This cannot work if there are more than 20 users doing load testing as increase in session data decrease performance gradually.
I need that data passed to my server without any performance or errors.Currently its showing weblogic.socket.MaxMesssageSizeExceededException and RequestURI too long errors.

JSF :: XHTML On One Server Can Talk To Managed-bean On Other Server (different Machine)?
Jul 27, 2014I am developing a web application using JSF-2.0 on weblogic 10.3.6. I am using Facelets as VDL. I have 5 different machine. They are different according to their OS and their geographical location. On my first xhtml page server (machine) is decided. Then on next page file upload and rest of processing takes place. My restriction is that SSO configuration can be done on only one machine.
So I am restricted to using xhtml files from only my primary server where SSO configuration is done. But I have to connect to servlets or managed-bean of different machine as requests are machine specific and file needs to be uploaded to those machines for processing. So I cannot use redirectUrl as I need to be only on one machine. Is it possible that xhtml on one server can talk to managed-bean on other server(different machine)?.
Connect A UDP Web Server To Compression Server
Apr 19, 2015Working on a project and am in need of some quick guidance to wrap things up. I have a functioning compression server that will create two files after the user gives it some input and a "magic string" to know when to stop reading input for that specific file.
I now need to connect a UDP web server to that compression server. the web server will read from the HTTP POST Request the data that was uploaded and send it to the compression server to create the two files... i have included both programs below

Set Components To GridbagLayout
Jan 1, 2014I decide to make a new GUI just for fun and practise and i want to learn more about Layouts.. right know i am try to understand some staff about GridBagLayout.
I want to make a GUI with this Layout :
So..first i am a frame with borderlayout then i put a JMenuBar and bla bla bla and i create panel with GridLayout which i put on myFrame.add(panel1,BorderLayout.WEST) and also i make an another JPanel which i put of the Center of main Frame (myFrame.add(panel2,BorderLayout.Center))
when i run the program i get this GUI :
Now the problem is that i can't put the JButton on the top of the gridLayout just to look like the first picture.. i Read about anchor and i try to
gbc.anchor = GridBagConstraints.NORTH; but without results.. still the components are on the middle of the JPanel..

How To Sequence Through Components

For example I can't figure how to add custom attributes to existing component or define default values for existing attributes.

Painting 2 Components From Different Classes
