Servlets :: Reset URL To JSP File After Servlet Call
Feb 14, 2014
I am a JSP/Servlet newbie currently adding the first servlets to a web site that had been static all along. My local instance worked great but the servlets did not respond on the test instance. Apparently, my hosting service provider requires me to use an invoker servlet mapping.
Adding this to local web.xml broke the application but the servlets respond on test instance (when their calls are not preceded by another servlet call). A Servlet fails when it is called immediately after another servlet has been called.
What I saw happening on test is URL for first call is of the form:
The servlets are invoked using "href=servlet/<servlet-name>?Id="
How can I avoid the inclusion of 'servlet' in the URL and reset the URL to the JSP page it navigates to after processing of the servlet?
P.S.: I am also trying to enable the Invoker servlet on local so I can troubleshoot easier. I went through the changes to Tomcat's web.xml and context.xml. However, my local servlets did not respond even after calling them using "href=<servlet-name>?Id=". Is there a way I can check if my invoker is active?
The problem i believe is that I have the max value set to the first value given out, but every time the loop repeats the Max value gets reset to the next value in the file.
Essentially the program is supposed to read a list of credit card transactions and tell the user which transaction is the highest.
Here's the list of the sample file, note that the number of transactions could change that's why i haven't tried simply passing the values to method.
Bicycle 562.90 Groceries 138.43 Hotel 612.00
import java.io.File; import java.io.IOException; import java.util.Scanner; public class CreditCards { public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { String fileName = "C:/Users/David/Desktop/CreditCard.txt"; File inputFile = new File(fileName);
I have an arraylist in my servlet which i need to pass to jsp as a response for a javascript call. This is an arraylist of DTOs. There are 24 DTO objects in the list. The DTO has an int variable and a HashMap. And i need to pass this into the javascript code in my jsp page. Do i use json? Do i send the entire list as a json object or should i iterate through the arraylist (from servlet) and serialize all the DTOs and pass that to the jsp?
I want to call a servlet variable in jsp page textfields.Actually in servlet I fetch a jasper report properties in servlet variables and then this variable call from jsp page and after changing properties values this report saved.my servlet code is:
so how to fetch servlet variable from jsp page textfields on load page and after edit that values then again save this values in jasper report on save button.
I am trying to remotely call one servlet and getting below exception:
java.io.StreamCorruptedException: invalid stream header: 3C21444F at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(ObjectInputStream.java:785) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.<init>(ObjectInputStream.java:282) at com.deere.isg.dm.web.controller.StatsController.getOtherAdminStatsBeanFromConnectURL2(StatsController.java:224) at com.deere.isg.dm.web.controller.StatsController.main(StatsController.java:122)
I tried this program, its guessing game. Where program decide 1 number and user will guess number. I am getting 1 problem. When user want to play game again.the random number remain same. So where i can put reset random in code..? And 1 more question if I want to write driver code for this. What should i transfer to driver code.
import java.util.Random; import java.util.Scanner; public class GuessGame { public static void main(String args[]) { String choice="y";
And the servlet handles the HEAD method in the sense that the doGet() method returns if the method type is HEAD.When I run it, the servlet returns the code returned by the entire doGet() method. This shows that the doGet() method does not realize that it is a HEAD method and it should return back without processing further.The application server is Tomcat 4.0.
In the above code the form should go to the servlet as mentioned in the actionUrl, but it is again going to servlet which is in step(1).
1) May i know can we make this above html form in step(3) to submitted and redirect to the servlet in **actionUrl**.
As per the above code i am summarizing the requirement. If the session is null, I have to redirect the user to login page and validated against database and then the response should go to step(1), Is it possible?
I have a link with URL say "/atom/filename.link" on one webpage on my server. On clicking it, a response will return in XML format.
In the XML there is information like:
<library id = "123" path =""/> <document id = "1234" path =""/>
With this information I can generate a URL to another link, say /libray?id=123/document?id=1234
Now I would like to realize a function so that on clicking this link, it will be automatically redirected to that new link, which is generated from the XML file.
At first I try to use a servlet/filter in a web-app and then deploy it on the server, inside this servlet/filter I make a new URL connection with the same request URL and retrieve the response and the parse the XML data. But now the request URL points to the servlet now, not the actual XML file.
For example, if I set the set the servlet-mapping to /atom, If I try to connect to the URL /atom/filename.link inside the servlet, will it still be directed to this servlet? It's like a loop, and the real content can never be reached because now the servlet occupies its path.
i don't need ordinary javascript alert box. so i was use the jquery modal alert box for different action like success, error etc.but i have problem to call the alert box within servlet.
i have one html page ,inside html radio button and 3 textboxes and one submit button ->action->SampleServlet.java-> from here again come back to html page with checked radio buttton value and text box value. I dont want to click back button in this case, html page to servlet->here i have to call back to my html page with checked radio button and text box value .
I tried response.redirect(original.html)-->i cant able to display checked radio button and textbox value also tried requestdispatcher forward/include,html page comes newly from starting but i dont want it,i want to view in html page with checked radio button and text box value.
I have a EAR file which has a java class file and EAR file is deployed in weblogic.I have to call the java class of EAR file from a standalone java code which is present inside a JAR.While making the call to EAR i have to pass a parameter from JAR to one of the methods of class file which is present in EAR.
In reference to the book "Head First Servlets and JSP, 2nd edition", chapter-3(), page-81, the command to compile the servlet file to the desired location is
(from the same directory as can be confirmed from the attachment of screenshot of error). this code is in accordance to the location of the respective files in my system, in particular the servlet-api.jar file.
After doing this, my computer is showing the error : file not found.
How do I resolve this? Actually, I don't understand completely what this code is trying to accomplish.
I have been trying to find all day long a way to secure my .ear file from modifications made by third parties... My product is packaged as an .ear file which i send for deployment to other administrators. What i am looking for is a way to "sign" my version of .ear versus the deployed version of .ear to be sure that no modification has been made to my code...
I have this program, I am wondering if it is possible to call files from the main method and sort them into my saveOneRocord method? If so, how would that look?
Creating a file upload servlet to accept a CSV and parse for insert into a database, however, whenever I click submit, it always seems to open a new tab/window. Below is the method I have that builds the upload form: (Using GWT 2.4)
private void buildUpload(){ LayoutContainer headerContainer = new LayoutContainer(new ColumnLayout()); headerContainer.setStyleAttribute("padding", "5px"); add(headerContainer); NamedFrame hiddenFrame = new NamedFrame("uploadFrame"); final FormPanel form = new FormPanel(hiddenFrame);
[Code] .....
Is there something I'm missing? or something I've added that makes it open a new tab/window?

I almost finished the second step , and working on the first step .Since there are so many input files at a given time , i have to use drag and drop method to get the file's location.how to pass file's path to servlet.( servlet code can read the data from the given txt file path )software used - tomcat and netbeans 8.0

I have to write a program that will generate 20 random circles with random radius lengths. If any of these circles intersect with another, the circle must be blue, and if it does not intersect, the color is red. I must also place a button on the JFrame. If this button is pressed, it needs to clear out the JFrame, and generate a new set of 20 circles following the same color rules. I am extremely new to Java Swing and am really stuck. I have everything working except the button. I cannot get a new set of circles to generate.
I have 5 radio buttons in my gui, I have a reset button which I have resetting everything else but now I am looking to remove the dot from the selected RB when you press the reset.
