Stock Tracker Application - Column Bot Found Exception

I have Stock Tracker application running, everything works just fine, but when i hit the List Users button, i get an SQL Exception which says "Column bot found". I tried searching for the exception from the internet, but the answers didn't suit my needs. below is the Stock Tracker DB i think the exception might be coming from.

I try to run this query select distinct TRIM(company) from catalog where company != '' order by company asc; and i get an SQL exception that Column company not found.. When i run this query in MySql workbench it works fine?
I'm trying to make a stock program that stops the user from entering in textfield and displays a message when stock is low. There's just 2 problem the entered value by the user is only decremented twice then the total stock resets for example with SofaTotal and the if statement doesn't work:

I mentioned the url-pattern in web.xml correctly and i also checked whether all the class files are present or not. But I am still getting ResourceNotFoundRException.

I've been trying for a while to get my exception output to print in a particular form to System.err.

I am validating an xml file using XQuery in Java using XQJ API. When the query is triggered it is giving the ClassNotFoundException for orai18n.text.OraCollator. I have placed the orai18n-collation.jar file in MANIFEST.MF file and it is loaded in to the class path.
Not sure on why it is giving the exception.
The JDK i am using JDK1.7 and application server is weblogic.

I am working on a magic square program. My program compiles. However, when I enter the square dimension it does not select the correct file. The error says "java.io.FileNotFoundException." It looks like it inserts 0 instead of the entered dimension.

I have written a java applet. Few months before It was working all fine but my client has some other requirements now and I have to edit it. I am getting two problems:
1. I could not execute it on my local computer as it always gives "your security settings have blocked a local application from running". I have edited the settings from Control Panel but it is then started giving permission error on including permission in manifest file it started giving trusted library error and still it is not resolved.
2. Can I know how to work with third party library with applets. I have imported the library and uses its few classes but when I tried to load applet it always give no class definition found error. I have some ways mentioned online like use comma separated names for all the jars but no luck so far.

We have developed a java application, whose primary objective is to read a file(input file), process it and convert it into set of output files. (I have given a generic description of our solution, to avoid irrelevant details).
This program works perfectly fine when the input file is of 4 GB, with memory settings of -Xms4096m -Xmx16384m in a 32 GB RAM
Now we need to run our application with the input file of size 130 GB.
We used a linux box with 250GB RAM and with memory setting of -Xms40g -Xmx200g (also tried couple of other variations) to run the application and hit OutOfMemory Exception.
At this stage of our project it's very hard to consider redesigning the code to accommodate hadoop ( or someother large scale data processing framework), also the current hardware configuration which we can afford is 250GB of RAM.
Any ways to avoid OutOfMemory Exceptions, what is the general practice when developing these kind of applications.?

I'm making a stock system for the heck of it,so everything was going great until I hit the loop I am trying to use a for loop to add stock to the stock system,any way the question is maily about loops.How come I cannot declare a variable outside a loop and assign a value to it,for example I can declare as follows and I will not get an error,
but in my code(and yes its the only error I get I tested it) I get an error and can only declare and assign a value inside the loop,the reason for this is because I wanted to get the value from another class and use it in the loop ok so heres the code from both classes.

I have a Stock Database query class, it compiles and runs well. Thing is when i enter a user, it shows a user stock information but it repeats showing the same user in the command prompt. the repetition is so fast, you can't see the information. All i wanted was the application to show a user's info, then asks you to enter another user again and so forth. Here is the code

[URL] I made a program that takes 2 stock values by URL tickers, and now I need it to draw a graph with the values for the 2 stocks, so they can be compared visually. How do i make the 'date' column show only the date and 'timeIn' and 'timeOut' column only show the time. In my database table my 'date' column is a date type and 'timeIn' and 'timeOut' column is time.

I am new to work on JNLP program. I have created a SWING program, JNLP file when i deploy the ear file i am getting 404 error. Please find the steps in details.

2.Create a HelloWorld.java class under default package.

Created Server in Websphere Admin console
Deployed this war file under the server and started.
I have added MIME types also.
I am unable to launch the application. I am getting 404 errors. May I know where I went wrong?
Right, so I got this program. It takes input from the user and assigns it to fields on an object. But, it's meant to check the users input. If the user enters bad input, it's supposed to throw this exception. For each of these exceptions, theres a class specifically for it.

It's just meant to tell the user that they entered an invalid value, which would mean if they entered an empty string instead of a name.
