I want to make a service like Spotify, where I can stream music that I have stored on my computer (in this case server) to my laptop or phone.
* What would be a suitable format for this?
* How would I actually stream it? I want to stream, not download and then play, I want to play the music while downloading.

But as the string is very big my code is not working. My browser just hangs.
Also is it possible to stream the output? i.e instead of sending entire string, can I send small part of string at a time. So that my browser will not hang. I don't want to handle streaming manually I am just looking for an IO class which will do the streaming automatically.
I've been experiencing problems with the JMF extension when used in an Applet on the web. The program has worked fine previously but not returns the following error...
PackageManager: error reading registry

However the program works fine in Eclipse with no errors. I have tried reinstalling the JMF package and setting the CLASSPATH and JMFHOME but it still does not work. I am using the jmf-2_1_1e-alljava version. I have also tried putting the player code in an AccessController.doPrivileged() block but this still does not seem to work.

I will set the templates to transition based on the time stamp of the beat of the music at certain intervals. The end users will be able to then create their own slide show "movie" based on the templates.
Problems I see are the syncing between the music and the images loading. Wondering if it's doable client side or if I need to have it rendered server-side.

View Replies View RelatedI was testing my JavaFX2.2.7 based media player code in a current Java 6 application when I discovered that HTTP Live Streaming does not seem to work. I can play a local file of the supported format (Sintel trailor mp4 h264) but when I try and use an HTTP Live Stream instead, nothing plays. (for example [URL] ). I end up with a blank player, and no exceptions or errors.

I thought it was something wrong with my player code, so as a last resort, I went to JavaFX 2 - Ensemble and copied the source and put it directly into my application and ran it... Unfortunately the same result occurs. The player runs, but simply shows a blank video window. The controls are available, but no video plays.
Based on the Release notes for Java 2.2.7 I was under the impression that HLS was supported. Am I incorrect?

I am currently building a java music player and need getting the volume control to work. I want to be able to set the computers volume directly using an integer. I've created a slider and put the value into an integer. The part that I am having trouble with is getting the volume to work.

I am trying to develop an application which will be showing a TimeSeries graph(related library JFreeChart) displaying network activity related to a particular network interface embedded in a JFrame.I have created a JPopUpMenu which is having containing a list of JMenuItems showing network interfaces as their String values.Menu is popping up correctly
Further I am selecting a JMenuItem related to a particular network interface to show network activity in TimeSeries graph.On selecting a JMenuItem I can see that graph is moving on constantly but not able to see any network activity.

View Replies View RelatedI got my first project in which i need to receive some data from multiple client on network regularly(say every second) and then process that data and stored it to the database and then GUI needs to be created which display data accordingly.
While thinking for the design i thought blocking queue to implement the same. Like producer receive data from the port into a string builder and put that into the LinkedBlockingQueue. Consumer will take this data , process some work on it and store it into the database.I am using sybase ase 15 as a database.
My question is as i am receiving data very frequently which require insertion , updation and search almost every second into the database. What is the best way to improve the performance.
