I was wanting to select an item in a comboBox and display it in a text field but all it's doing at the minute is retrieving the first item in the comboBox and placing that in the txt field
String value = (String) comboBoxEnv.getSelectedItem().toString();
if(comboBoxEnv.getSelectedItem()!= null){
txtTo.setText(value);
I have a combobox with this PopupMenuListener. All works fine, except that the popupMenuWillBecomeInvisible method does not capture the selection made and neither does it show the selection.
PopupMenuListener pmlMqMessagePurged = new PopupMenuListener() { @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public void popupMenuWillBecomeVisible(PopupMenuEvent arg0) { try { JdbcSqlServerDataSource ds = new JdbcSqlServerDataSource( DbConnectionURL.UToolDbHostName, 0,
[Code] .....
The popupMenuWillBecomeInvisible does fire but the System.out.println() returns 'nul'l as answer to the value i have selected from the combobox.
I have to use the company's login resource, which returns a login page for authentication after a browser/user page request; after successfully authenticated, the session attributes are set in a (remote) valued object (VO) invoked via servlet; then, such values are set in my (local) POJO.
I want to display the current user session attribute (see xChave below) and save it in database. How can I persist http User session attributes through the structure below?
Abstract Controller (just the main code):
public abstract class AbstractController<T> { @Inject private AbstractFacade<T> ejbFacade; private Class<T> itemClass; private T selected; private Collection<T> items; //GETTERS AND SETTERS OMMITED public AbstractController(Class<T> itemClass) { this.itemClass = itemClass; }
select 3 elements from the list: you'll see the log of the ChangeListener that tell you every time all items selected remove 1 element from previous selection: you will not receive the notification!!! remove the other two elements: only when the selection is empty you will see a new notification from changeListener...
New to Java Swing. What I am trying to achieve here is to create an instance of the class used to populate the DefaultListModel when a JList item is selected. All examples I have seen show how to return the text displayed in the JList which really is of no practical use.
I have achieved what I want to achieve in that I am successfuly creating the selected object within my ListCellRenderer class.
For the purpose of testing I am using a call to the JOptionPane.showMessageDialog method to display the id of the selected object.
So, I launch the JFrame, the JList is populated, I select an item from the JList and the id value is displayed in the prompt. All this works fine except for one thing.
When I click OK on the JOptionPane.showMessageDialog prompt, the prompt disappears and reappears. The system seems to be in a loop. It is behaving as if the change or click event handler on the JList keeps firing.
This happens even without the creation of the object:
BookEntry be = (BookEntry)list.getModel().getElementAt(list.getSelectedIndex());
I have scoured the code and object properties to see if I can figure out where this behaviour is coming from without success.
All there is in the JFrame design view is a single JList with a variable name of "list". Everything else is in code as below:
Here is the .java code. Its not that complex
import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Component; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.JList; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; import javax.swing.ListCellRenderer; import javax.swing.DefaultListModel; public class NewJFrame3 extends javax.swing.JFrame {
I have a JTable which shows pdf files. In Addition I can check if they have errors, if it so I can generate a "report" by clicking the pdf. But the report gives me errors from all of the pdfs in the table. How can I match the error messages to the pdf which I select?
Here is one of the checking methods:
public static void testAllPagesHaveSameRotation(PDFDocument pdf) throws PDFDocumentException { if (SettingsGui.testAllPagesHaveSameRotation.isSelected()) { if (pdf.getPages() == 0) { rotationError = ""; } else { rotationError = "";
There are 8 JCheckboxes, which are already added to panel and aligned in group layout. From which, I have selected one JCheckbox. Then the resultant GUI should contain only remaining 7 JCheckboxes and selected one should temporarily removed or hide from GUI . Is it possible? If so, how?
I have a program where I have to open a file and then run a piece of code to do something with it. However since there are different files I want to run different pieces of code depending on the file. I have a JFileChooser setup and it works but I would like to have a something like an if else depending on the file extension.
i've spend an hour or two, pasting fragments from tutorials and nothing changed.
Well - i have GUI, that have JComboBox with two elements: String[] fedoras = { "Fedora 19", "Fedora 20" }; JComboBox fedora_list = new JComboBox(fedoras); fedora_list.setSelectedIndex(0); fedora_list.setBounds(120,170, 170,25); fedora_list.addActionListener(this); this.add(fedora_list);
Below i have normal button (named Update) with "update" set as ActionCommand. This button after clicked should check which value from list is selected and perform different operations for that elements. But it's harder than i thought.
Code for update button:
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){ String cmd = e.getActionCommand(); (...) else if ("update".equals(cmd)){ String selectedFedora = (String) fedora_list.getSelectedItem(); if (selectedFedora.equals("Fedora 19")) {
[code]....
- after user clicked Update button, button should check which value is selected in JComboBox (fedora_list). - if Fedora 19 is selected and button clicked, then action in Xterm - if Fedora 20 is selected, this same action in Xterm is performed, but for Fedora Linux 20
The problem is - i don't know hot to code Update button to check which value from fedora_list (JComboBox) is selected and perform other actions for every element on List.
is there a good way to change the color of a JList item that isn't selected? I'm throwing my hand at building a client/server chat app and on the client side, I need to highlight the name of the person (which is in a JList) who has sent a message to the client GUI.
I have a large JPanel which uses a GridBagLayout in which I put other JPanels inside the cells. The main JPanel is then added to a JScrollPane. What I'm looking to provide the user a way to automatically scroll to a particular item in the scrollable area (i.e. each of the child JPanels would represent - let's say a person for argument sake - and an user would like to click a button or bring that JPanel into focus / view.
The JPanels are added within a loop to the grid and references of these JPanels at the moment aren't store in an array or anything, so it's a case of being added and that's it. Also there's the case of where was the object exactly added and also how to have the scrollbar move to the proper focus location (both horizontally and vertically).
I would like to create a sub menu for every list item in a Jlist. I need the UI like avast interface. If we hover over an list item, its sub menu should be shown. I attempted to put an sub menu but didn't work. Is this possible in Swing?
I am developing a java based software connected with a mysql database. I have an Item table in my database. I created a bean class which can keep all item data with it and. Then I loaded each Item data in to its object and fill a Jcombobox. Now I want to search with Item name and get all Item data when selecting that item. I have overidden the toString method to Item name in that class. Is there any way to search my Item objects inside a jcombobox?
basically I would like to know how to to the following Java. Example... Say I have one JComboBox, and it is populated with 10 items which reads from a text file ("apple","banana","kiwi","orange","grape fruit"), and the other JComboBox holds the price ($1,$2,$4, etc etc...you get the drift).
How do I make in such a way when I select for example banana from the JCombobox that it syncs the other JCombox to the correct price?
Basically syncing the two JCombobox so that you do not need to select the price yourself - it does it automatically for you.
I'm currently writing a small program, where I need to save data into a Defaulttablemodel in a jTable.I have to save the name, a number and the email-adress.I added a button which opens a new JFrame and there I need to change the email and/or the name.My current solution is far from good: No matter which row I select, i can only update the "newest" row (last created). How can I visualize the values of the selected row (out.println// or whatever) so I can go further and overwrite these values.My Code when I click on Update:
int zeilenwahl = jTableStudenttab.getSelectedRow(); // System.out.println(jTableStudenttab.getSelectedRow()); if (zeilenwahl != -1) { this.setVisible(false); new Bearbeitung().setVisible(true); } else { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(rootPane, "Zum Bearbeiten Zeile auswählen"); }
I am making an edit page and I want to populate my drop down menu with things that were already selected. For example, if i want i click to edit my favorite food it will be populated with the one the user previously selected. How do i go about doing this? [URL] ....
I just learned about 2D arrays and am still trying to get a grasp on the concepts. I'm a little confused by how you return all the values in a row to add up and display the sum if the row is entered by the user.
import java.util.*; public class RowSum { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner s = new Scanner (System.in); int userpick = 0; int sum = 0;
I need to somehow compare the random color chosen from the color array and the random name selected from the name array. I know how to compare to entire arrays of the same type such as integers. How to go about this with two different arrays. I thought maybe I could parse the color array selection to a string but had no luck with that either.
Problem #1: Design and implement an Applet that plays a simple game to teach a child to read. The game displays a picture on the left hand side of the Applet and a word on the right hand side. Below the pictures are two buttons for the child to click--one if the word matches the picture, the second of the word doesn't match the picture. Display an error message if the child is incorrect (or play a sound). Display (or play a sound) display words of encouragement if the child chooses correctly. Add a loop so the child can keep playing.
How can I make the JTextField to popout when a JCheckBox is selected? I tried putting it under the general if statement and under the if statement which is inside the general if statement.
I want perform some calculations whenever a specific cell block is focused in JTable, I've tried using focusListener on JTable but looks like my table isn't triggering the event. I don't know why, what to do?
