This is my code so far. I am having trouble with trying to select a state from my comboBox. My box prints out on the screen fine, but it will not allow me to select a state and print out a state. I was able to get the event listener to work for my radio buttons ok. But I am stuck on the comboBox.

I've got 2 view classes with their own viewcontroller. In view 1 i'v got a combo box with a observablelist wicht show me some values.
What i want is to put an new value to the combobox through the controller of view2.

View Replies View RelatedI have a large JPanel which uses a GridBagLayout in which I put other JPanels inside the cells. The main JPanel is then added to a JScrollPane. What I'm looking to provide the user a way to automatically scroll to a particular item in the scrollable area (i.e. each of the child JPanels would represent - let's say a person for argument sake - and an user would like to click a button or bring that JPanel into focus / view.
The JPanels are added within a loop to the grid and references of these JPanels at the moment aren't store in an array or anything, so it's a case of being added and that's it. Also there's the case of where was the object exactly added and also how to have the scrollbar move to the proper focus location (both horizontally and vertically).
I would like to create a sub menu for every list item in a Jlist. I need the UI like avast interface. If we hover over an list item, its sub menu should be shown. I attempted to put an sub menu but didn't work. Is this possible in Swing?

Then I loaded each Item data in to its object and fill a Jcombobox. Now I want to search with Item name and get all Item data when selecting that item. I am writing an application in which you can play a Sudoku game. I have separated the “logic” or the “model”(the classes with Sudoku data structures and methods to manipulate them) from the presentation (the view and the controller).The main method starts off as follows:
SudokuModel model = new SudokuModel();
SudokuView viewController = new SudokuViewController(model);
The first line creates class for the logic and the second line creates the class for the view and the controller. Since the view and the controller need access to the business logic, the model is passed on to the ViewController class.The SudokuViewController class creates the user interface in Swing and it handles the user input. For the user input I have created a number of listeners, like this:
table.addKeyListener(this);
Now these listeners need access to the model since they update it. However, as far as I’m aware the only parameter passed on to an event listener is the event itself. So these event listeners do not have direct access to the model, even though it is passed on to the constructor of the class SudokuViewController.
To circumvent this, I made model2 an attribute (variable) of the class SudokuViewController. The constructor of the class sets this variable as follows:
model2 = model;
Now the event listeners have access to model2, which they can manipulate.This works. However, I think it is an ugly solution, introducing an additional object (model2). I’d like to pass on the object named model to the event listener, but this doesn’t seem to be possible.
basically I would like to know how to to the following Java. Example... Say I have one JComboBox, and it is populated with 10 items which reads from a text file ("apple","banana","kiwi","orange","grape fruit"), and the other JComboBox holds the price ($1,$2,$4, etc etc...you get the drift).
How do I make in such a way when I select for example banana from the JCombobox that it syncs the other JCombox to the correct price?
Basically syncing the two JCombobox so that you do not need to select the price yourself - it does it automatically for you.

I am trying to find either some references to point me on the right track with passing an object with all of it's properties still in tact after it's been created. Currently I am trying to do this through an interface but it seems to just create a new object everytime without the properties. Example below :

I'm working on assignment for a class where I'm creating a home utility auditor. Basically the user has to pick from a list of appliances and then input various fields to calculate a total cost. When the user chooses "washer" from the list of appliances, they must enter in values for 2 separate fields, and will then click calculate to get total cost. I've been trying to implement this through an if, else statement, but it's not wanting to calculate a total cost and I'm running into errors. I've put the code below.
