Swing/AWT/SWT :: Image Redraws Faster Inside Eclipse Than Standalone

I don't know if this is appropriate to Swing/AWT, or even if this is a Java issue, but I had quite a shock recently. I have been working on a kind of drawing program in which the user can select tiny control rectangles and drag them around, causing the shape of a polygon to change. (They are not implemented as Java Polygons or Shapes because some are one-dimensional). I have gotten it into pretty good shape, so I exported it from Eclipse, my development platform, into a standalone Java application. In the standalone application, each time I drag the mouse, the redrawing shows nasty flickering, as if it's running too slowly. While I was developing the application inside Eclipse, it ran perfectly, with no flickering whatsoever.
What gives? I'd expect that the in-Eclipse runs would be slower, because they're burdened with extra debugging baggage, while the exported standalone version should run faster. But the reverse is the case.

I have an embedded browser in a standalone java app running on windows. The browser calls up web pages over the internet with no problem.

I have a C executable which captures and documents network traffic. I communicate with it by entering http://27.0.0.1:6500 into any browser (it works with them all). It responds with a simple html form (three buttons, a tick box, a label, and one text box).However I cannot get it to work with the embedded SWT browser.

Sir, I'am new to Swing Programming. I have to create an application where an image is displayed on one Label. The same image has to be split in parts and stored in database pert wise. Later the user has to retrieve the entire image by viewing a small part of the image. I have already displayed the full image on the Label, now i don't know how to split the image and store it part wise in the database.

I found this method from the same link from which I found the Pandigital method. This method uses the algorithm of sieve of eratosthenes who was a greek mathematician and showed how to find prime numbers by taking an individual number and finding the multiples of it and cut them out for they will not be a prime number. From what I've seen this program gives the results much faster than the traditional way of searching for prime numbers by diving that number by the digits upto half of that number and check for divisiblity.

As seen from the full program on the site [URL] .... this program was formely writen in C++ and from there I've scrapped out this method as the syntax are corresponding to that of Java, but one problem I faced was in finding the BitArray class in Java. I was unable to understand the approach of this program to find the prime numbers.

I'm trying to JFileChooser to open up a window. I'm just trying to learn how to use it for a school assignment this week. The problem is I can't get anything to show up. I can create a new window and print to the console without errors, but JFileChooser doesn't do anything. No errors either.

I have a Jframe and i want to add inside 4 different jpanel.This is easy.
what is difficult is how can i change them dynamically with 4 other new jpanels and 4 other new jpanels?
I have try with BorderLayout but not working.
It's a wizard like but not the same.

I have a Tcr object as a member variable of the JFrame. But When ChangeListener swings into action, the variable inside it are all nulls. the TcrPanel is created before the ChangeListener is triggered.

I am developing a java based software connected with a mysql database. I have an Item table in my database. I created a bean class which can keep all item data with it and. Then I loaded each Item data in to its object and fill a Jcombobox. Now I want to search with Item name and get all Item data when selecting that item. I try to create Java Swing Desktop application which show Road map of some area in JFrame. But pc not connected to internet it will be in LAN. Map should be like if we scroll the mouse we go down from height in map. Like zooming the area.
I try to find out by google i get lots of forum links but each showing me.
1. I have to do web application.
2. Google not support 'without internet' map facility.
3. I should use lots of jpgs which store in folder for showing map from various height so it look like when we see any map in Google Earth application.

this code won't compile because selected row must be declared as final because of it being defined outside the window listener. Is their anyway around this? If I make it final the first time that the variable is called it keeps it starting value until the GUI is closed.

I am building a GUI application which consists of two panels "panel" and "panel1". "panel1" have a button "addTimer" when clicked it should add the "panel" to the frame if i gain click the button it should again add the "panel" without overlapping the previous "panel" rather it should be created below the previous "panel". If i click on the button "addTimer" n times it should add the panel n times. Along with this the frame size has to dynamically change depending on the number of panels produced. In the method mouseClicked(MouseEvent me) the co-ords of the click are obtained.
* if they are within the confines of the rectangle rect, console output System.out.println("inside box") is displayed

I have used netbeans to build my app. So there creating jTable is out of my control as that part was inside auto-generated code. I have just used the jTable.setValue().
My problem is, above method is inside a button click event. Updated values not displaying until the loops ends.

I want to calculate the height of a dialog that contain only a table depending on how many rows that table it has so I'm using the cross multiplication rule.For example i check initially that my table is well fitting into the dialog(Without space at the bottom) for some value and after that i use the cross multiplication rule because data are dynamic.But unfortunately this rule does not solve the problem.What's the best rule for fitting a dynamic table inside a dialog or a frame? I got all the classes good, but I got a folder with images and a TXT file

At the end I just copy and paste the code from section 9.3.4 (the long startup task example) and it still won't work. After starting the application I only see some black screen flickering at the upper left screen and then the main app shows up.
What I have done:
Using Netbeans 8.0 under Linux(Fedora20 64bit), JDK 1.8u5 ...
Here are the two classes - the main app :

On my machine I see only a little black flickering on the left upper screen and then immediately the app is shown...
The only way I can get this to run is to set the custom preloader property in the Netbeans-project properties. If you use a maven based project in Netbeans you did not got this option ...

Tried creating a simple sample but all works as expected.
The following code prevents the cursor from moving when inside a cell of a JTable.

When editing a cell, the existing code would use the right/left cursor keys to move from cell to cell as opposed to from character to character when editing a cell. I planned to override the functionality by tossing in the above code as a test to see if it stops the functionality before I override it.
After placing in the above code, the above functionality no longer occurs, but now the cursor moves within the cell as I wanted which is to move from character to character instead of cell to cell. Its great it works, but it really shouldn't. Essentially the default behavior has been restored when it should have really disabled the left/right keys.
I assume there is some underlying class someplace that is doing something to affect the behavior. Since a sample can't be provided I am wondering in what scenarios would the e.consume() restore default functionality?

I am working on a web-application where i have a functionality which generates reports based on the data from DB. for small amount of data its working nice if the data is huge its taking more time. to avoid this problem i developed a standalone batch where i generated the jar file for the sources in web-application and made a call to the appropriate methods.
But my problem is if web-application takes 10 secs to generate the report but in the case of standalone its taking nearly 3-5 mins to generate the same report. i didn't do much of the changes in code just using the same code as web-application
I am using tomcat 6 application server to run the web-application for standalone using batch commands.....
