Swing/AWT/SWT :: JMenuBar Object Not Visible In JFrame

I' currently wrking on BeatBox application from Head First Java. I made a jpanel the pane of the frame & when i try to add a JMenuBar object to that it is not getting displayed when i run the code. When i add a menuBar directly to the JFrame object it is visible & working fine but not incase when added to JPanel.
I am trying to add a JMenuBar to this program with just one dropdown to select one option but I am getting an error with the setJMenuBar(menuBar); line as it does not extend JFram. How I would add a menu to this program another way.

I have a paint program in Java where I can draw objects. The objects are stored in an arrayList. In the menubar the user can chooce "Back", which means the last item in the arrayList is removed. After that I want the program to loop through the arrayList and draw the remaining items.
My problem is that when I try to do that it will not work from the menu (menuItem2). If I instead add the code to one of the colorpanels (yellowPanel), from where the user can pick colors, it works fine.

I am building a little application for personal use where I can track my finance. Now, what I would like to get is an always visible JTable "footer" OR horizontal space field attached to the bottom of the window. The idea is that scrolling down/up wouldn't affect it's visibility(like JTable header). Might a picture tell a thousand words: see attachment.
I am wondering, maybe JTable OR TableModel class has a property to solve this problem(I haven't found any)? Or shall I make another ScrollPane/JPanel? Which path of search shall I pursue?
In my code where the Button Action Performed is created, I have done the following to ensure that the visibility of the JTable and JScrollPane have been set to true. But it does not work?
I have a JPanel that's using a simple GridBagLayout.

Based on user input I am adding sub-panels to the panel. These sub-panels may vary in height. They take up the full width of the Panel.

The odd behaviour I'm seeing is that if the height of the new sub-panel I'm adding is less than the height of the largest sub-panel currently displayed then the main panel does not repaint. If its height is equal or greater then the Panel does repaint, and any sub-panels that were added but not visible before are now painted. What have I missed?

What do I need to add, or where can I find information on how to add an image? Can I add an image using Graphics? I will import any utils, swings or awts needed. But I don't want to change my code too much.
I currently have a program written that outputs a canvas object and adds a picture of 5 taxis to it.I have now added a jtextfield so that a user can add an interger. Ideally if the user was to enter the number 8, there would be 8 taxis added to the canvas.I am having trouble with the final part i mentioned. how to delete the old canvas and output a new one with the amount that the user wrote in the jtextfield.
What I want to do is have a label that is updated whenever an object gets some new, relevant data.The way you do it in Java looks different from the way we do it in Objective-C. I am trying to find either some references to point me on the right track with passing an object with all of it's properties still in tact after it's been created. Currently I am trying to do this through an interface but it seems to just create a new object everytime without the properties. Example below :

When I implement the interface on the other objects as soon as I call the setP method shown above it seems to just create a new one even though I pass the object to the method I want to use.
Is there a way to simply slap a rectangle into a JPanel (make it appear) with out creating an inner Class or helper Method, all within "Main"? And if not, why?

All I need to do is show in just one JFrame the two combined JFrames. One JFrame namely leftPanel will appear to the left or west and the other namely rightPanel to the right or east using BorderLayout. I already did creating them first as JPanels or as internal classes and subsetted them in one JFrame but that didn't work because it looked messy. And now I've created them as two separate JFrames, compiled separately, and tried to subset them as one in the JFrame. I didn't add any functionality to this program because all I intend to do is to show those two JFrames together in one JFrame. Here's the code:

I am rather new to Swing, and I am building a game right now in which I need to display a pop-up window as a reminder for what commands exist within the game. I created a class extending JFrame for this and added all the information I need. However, for some reason, no matter how many different ways I try to set the size of this window (setSize(w, h), pack(), using a different layout, adding the compnents to a JPanel first and setting the preffered size of that, then adding the JPanel to the JFrame), it doesn't work. Instead of a window of my requested size, I get a tiny, maybe 100 x 100 pixel window that needs to be resized in order for its contents to be visible.

Following is the code on the click of a button, id like to know how do i close the current jframe on which the jButton4 is currently placed. I know how to send it to the next Jframe i.e JobCard. But need to close the current one. I tried using this.setVisible(true); But it does not work.

I am try to do an application based in multiples JFrames, each one with its particular responsibilities, and use one JPanel as a menu with buttons that connect one JFrame to another, But this menu is instantiated at run in view (layout made by netbeans) the Main Jframe appears with its internal JPanel, but the instantiated JPanel does not appear or does not show it's buttons.
