I implemented the gray scale filter and the convolution filter . If I apply before the grayscale filter convolution and then I can not see the picture, I see pretty much the JPanel that should contain the image. The two filters separately functioning correctly

Code filter grey scale

public BufferedImage greyScale(BufferedImage originalImage) {
BufferedImage destImg = new BufferedImage(originalImage.getWidth(), originalImage.getHeight(), BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
int alpha, red, green, blue;
for (int x = 0; x < originalImage.getWidth(); x++) {

I have dragged and dropped a jTextArea from netbeans palette onto my form. But when I right clicked for Event > action > actionPerformed for implementation, I realized such was not there, unlike the jTextField component. For example, I have tried this but it didn't work:

//{
Import java.swing.*;
JTextArea txa = new JTextArea();
txa.getText(jTextArea1);
txa.setText(jTextArea1);
txa.setTextWrap(true);

Swing/AWT/SWT :: Implement CSS In Java Via A JEditorPane

Aug 5, 2014

I'm trying to implement CSS in Java via a JEditorPane and an HTMLEditorKit. The CSS is included below. It *should* create a container with one on the left, small, and one on the right, large. It works flawlessly on JSFiddle [URL] ...., but on Java, it won't put the two divs next to each other. Is this a problem in Java/Netbeans or is it my problem? It creates the divs, but beneath each other. The JEditorPane is wide enough for all of them to fit.

Coding:

Java:
private void loadBulletins() {
//<editor-fold defaultstate="collapsed" desc="HTML/CSS Script">
String eBullStyles = "#divMsgs{ "
+ "height: 99px; "
+ "margin: auto; "
+ "background-color: #3399FF; "

How To Get Median / Middle Value In Array

Apr 5, 2014

So first of all we use textpad in our java course (idk why) and the Easy.In method for our input. Any way I have this assignment and we're ask to make a program that input

1) how many numbers were input
2) the largest value
3)smallest value
4) average value and
5) middle/median value.

I manage to figure out the code for the other except the median value. Here's my code

class project2

public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("How many numbers you want to input");
int maxItems = EasyIn.getInt();

Finding Median Of Array?

May 3, 2014

I'm trying to find the median of a set of numbers inputted into an array and I wanted to know how I would pass the array to the median calculator after I use selection sort to organize the numbers.THIS IS THE CODE THAT ORGANIZES THE ARRAY:

public void selectionSort(double[] myArray) {
for (int i = 0; i < myArray.length - 1; i++)
{
int index = i;
for (int j = i + 1; j < myArray.length; j++)

if (myArray[j] < myArray[index])

[code]....

The code that finds the median will only work if the array being used is already organized. How do I pass the new sorted array to the code that finds the median?

Swing/AWT/SWT :: SetLayout Does Not Override Or Implement Method From Super Type?

Sep 12, 2014

I am trying to make a ChessBoard class composed of an array of JLabels inside a JPanel with a grid layout. I am also trying to override the getPreferredSize method so that the board will change size when I resize the main window (in another class in which I will instancize this class as part of a larger GUI). I got this kind of layout working before, but now I am trying to get it to work with multiple classes. However, after copying in the part of the previous code corresponding to the panel's layout, I am encountering some errors that I don't know how to solve. Specifically, when I try to override the getPreferredSize method, the compiler tells me "method does not override or implement a method from a super type, " and that it can't find the method "getPreferredSize"

Here's my code:

public class ChessBoard extends JPanel//the panel that this class extends is the boardHousing
{
//mental chess board piece array
Piece mentalBoard[][] = new Piece[8][8];
//actual GUI chessboard JLabel Array
static JLabel chessBoard[][] = new JLabel[8][8];

[Code] ....

I would just think that I was overriding the method incorrectly, but the weird thing is that I got that specific section of code to work before -- the only thing different now is that there are multiple classes, so my ChessBoard class itself is extending JPanel.

Code That Find Median Value In List Of Values

Mar 19, 2014

a simple Java program for finding the median value in a list of values with the following requirements:

- Create an array with an even number of values in it (an odd number of values is little bit trickier, so if you want a challenge, do it for either an even or odd number of values)

- Find the value with an equal number of values greater than the value as there are values less than the value

- Your solution must not require a sorted list of values - Output the median value

This assignment is intended to get you to demonstrate basic knowledge of arrays, and to create methods with both input and output.

Sort Values In Array And Print Median Value On Console

Oct 22, 2014

Use the sort method of the arrays class to sort the values in the array, and print the median value(the 50th value) on the console followed by a blank line. Then, test this enhancement. Print the 9th value of the array on the console and every 9th value after that. Then, test this enhancement.

import java.util.Arrays;
public class ArrayTestApp

public static void main(String[] args) {
double [] arrayTest = new double[99];
//adding random number to each element in the array
for(int i=0; i<arrayTest.length; i++)
arrayTest[i] = 100.0*Math.random();

OUTPUT

run:

The average is: 49.842845462514944
The median is: 49.68753724038633
The 9th value is: 2.599530043466969
The 9th value is: 11.486193141397095

Finding And Printing Median Node In Linked List Using Recursion

Nov 3, 2014

The only problem I have now is getting a method to return the median element of a LinkedList without using loops of any kind or by using a global counter anywhere.

I've pretty easily figured out how to get the index value for the median number (there is some lee way allowed. If the list has an even size, any of the middle values are accepted) but I can't figure out how to print it without loops.

I'm sure I need to make a method that finds an element at the given index value, but I don't know how to do it without loops.

Here's all of my code. Inside is my Assignment3 class I use for testing, StudentList which contains the LinkedList head and other List methods, and StudentNode which is obviously, the Node class. Also I've attached the first test1.txt file as well.

import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.util.*;
public class Assignment3 {
public static void main (String []args){
StudentList<StudentNode> myList = new StudentList<StudentNode>();

[Code] .....

I tried making a method that basically counts up the list recursively then a second method that counts down recursively and is supposed to stop once it hits the middle number, then print that node.

Attached File(s) : test1.txt (106bytes)

Servlets :: Filter Not Being Called

Nov 10, 2014

I have Filter that is randomly being called and randomly not being called without any logical reason...The mapping is very simple:

<filter>
<filter-name>MyFilter</filter-name>
<filter-class>com.me.MyFilter</filter-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>ignorePaths</param-name>
<param-value>res/</param-value>

</filter>
<filter-mapping>
<filter-name>MyFilter</filter-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</filter-mapping>

So, init is called, so it works... but most of the time the doFilter method is not being called at all... what am I doing wrong?

JSF :: Get Data From Managed Bean Method After Servlet Filter

Feb 15, 2015

I have a situation to load data while JSF page loads. Also have a filter which populates user information from http request.

I was expecting the filter first to populate the user information and in the managed bean get method to verify the user information and get the data (from database). But in this case i see the managed bean get method is invoked before filter populates user information and i get null pointer exception because the user information is null.

I had to work around to get the user information from FacesContext in the managed bean get method because the user information wasn't available. Is there a way to make sure the filter is invoked first?

HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest)request;
HttpServletResponse httpResponse = (HttpServletResponse)response;

What is a good regex expression to filter any word in any order?

Program Can Accept Multiple Filter And Sort Commands At One Time

Mar 9, 2014

What I'm supposed to be doing is making it so the program can accept multiple filter and sort commands at one time, and each should be separated by a whitespace.I was thinking about parsing the input again, using whitespace as the delimiter, then normally progressing with each token, as though there was only one command.

However, coding this the way I'm doing it will firstly probably take hours, and secondly, it's likely not even right. I don't have any real way to determine which token contains which data from the Song objects.These are the specific requirements for this portion:A sort/filter command consists of one or more of the following options:

-year:<year(s)>

-rank:<rank(s)>

-artist:<artist>

-title:<title>

-sortBy:<field>

Any number of these options may be given, and they may be given in any order. If multiple options are specified, they will be separated by whitespace.

import java.util.*;
import java.io.*;
