Trying To Create Custom Resource Bundle Shows Error
Jan 15, 2014
I am using jdev12c. I tried to create the following class
package view;
import java.awt.Dimension;
import java.util.ListResourceBundle;
public class Resource extends ListResourceBundle {
protected Object[][] getContents() {
return new Object[][] = {
[Code] ....
The code is copied from java documentation ListResourceBundle (Java Platform SE 7 )
Looks like a documentation bug where "=" has to be removed

For my jsp file, the code editor shows no error, but the projects window shows an error. I built my project again, cleaned the project, restart eclipse twice and summoned cthulhu. But my project still shows an error. How do I find the cause.

Im debugging a code that has the following setting:
<application>
<message-bundle>com.web.resources</message-bundle>
<locale-config>
<default-locale>en_US</default-locale>
<supported-locale>fr_FR</supported-locale>
</locale-config>
<resource-bundle>
<base-name>com.web.resources.message</base-name>
<var>message</var>
</resource-bundle>
</application>
Just want to ask, for example I have message_en_US.properties and message_en_SG.properties.And the web is currently using the SG property but one property is not exist on it, can I just redirect to use the US property?

My application suppose to work with different languages. I have created different messageResource bundle file for each language. However, as we are adding more features, the resource files for each language becoming very long, which makes it difficult to manage (edit) for non-techy person. Therefore, I would like to know, how can I redesign or remodularize in such a way that it will be easy to manage for Content Writers? Can I redesign my bundle resources based on application pages?

In my application i'm using java.util.ResourceBundle class. This is not serialized. My application works perfectly in a single node. But if i moved it to clustered mode resource bundle object will not be replicated to other server becasue it's not serializable.

When I browsed I came to know two ways of implementing singleton.. I dont know which is best.. I am implementing this to load resource bundle only once for my jvm using constructor to getBundle.
public class bundle {
private final static Logger LOGGER = Logger.getLogger(bundle .class.getName());
private static bundle instance;
private static ResourceBundle messages;
private bundle () {
messages = ResourceBundle.getBundle("pb", Locale.getDefault());
[Code] ....
and I am calling this as bundle.getInstance.getMessage("hi");I wanted to knw which option is better and why.. and in the second case how can i call the getMessage() method?

I created an ant script to create an installer for my JavaFx app:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<project name="app-javafx" default="do-deploy" basedir="." xmlns:fx="javafx:com.sun.javafx.tools.ant">
<property name="java8.jdk.home" value="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_11.jdk/Contents/Home" />
<property name="javafx.tools.ant.jar" value="${java8.jdk.home}/lib/ant-javafx.jar" />
<target name="init-fx-tasks">
[Code] ....
During compiling I see:
Using base JDK at:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_11.jdk
Using default package resource [Bundle config file] (add package/macosx/Info.plist to the class path to customize)
Using default package resource [icon] (add package/macosx/app.icns to the class path to customize)
Creating app bundle: /Users/Utente/Documents/workspaceServer/javafx/target/deploy/bundles/app.app
Config files are saved to /var/folders/q6/vmt_h0tx3rgdbt_4h2_2f3780000gn/T/build6635061168386632777.fxbundler/macosx.
Use them to customize package.
fxbund
ler/macosx. Use them to customize package.
So I get files inside the temp directory and I copied them inside my project target directory. Unfortunally javafxbuilder don't use them to customize the package so I think the path where I have to put that files is wrong.

I would like to create a custom tag which works similar to <c:forEach/> tag i.e
<c:forEach var = "movie" items = "${collection}>
${movie}
</c:forEach>
I would want to create the similar behaviour(as above) in my own custom Tag.Morever I would like to use the doStartTag() and doEndTag() and doAfterBody() methods while creating custom Tag.

I would like to implement a custom Logging strategy for my Java project.I have implemented 3 appenders : one console-log, one file-log (errors only) and another (custom) file-log (with the custom parameters).The custom parameters are : loggerName, logPathDir, logFileLevel and layoutPattern.
I have not managed yet to implement a custom layoutPattern strategy for the custom file-log.When I launch my tests : test1 (default logging setting) and test2 (custom logging setting), I have only managed to get a sucessfull status if I switch the custom layoutPattern strategy to the default one for the test2. My implementation extract :
// Layout patterns : default (layout) and custom (patternLayoutCustomBuilt)
Layout<String> layout = PatternLayout.createLayout(PatternLayout.SIMPLE_CO NVERSION_PATTERN, config, null, null, false,
false, null, null)
PatternLayout.Builder patternLayoutCustom = PatternLayout.newBuilder();
PatternLayout patternLayoutCustomBuilt = patternLayoutCustom.withPattern(layoutPattern).wit hConfiguration(config).build();

I am not able to pass parameters to custom tag. This is my tag file header.tag under web-in/tags folder
<img ><br>
<b><i>${subTitle}</i></b>
And This is my jsp page that use that tag.
<%@ taglib prefix="myTags" tagdir="/WEB-INF/tags" %>
<html>
<body>
<myTags:header subTitle="We make sure our clients dont have to do that" />
</body>
</html>
It says attribute subTitle invalid for tag header according to TLD.

I'm trying to create a table where the Header is a custom object.
The custom object would be something along the lines of
public MyColumnObject
{
String myLabel;
ArrayList dataForDropdowns;
int defaultColumnIndex;
int modifiedColumnIndex;
String tooltip;
}
This is simpler then what I want to do, but it's the basic concept. I want the column header to render the myLabel for the visual (at least at first). I want this render to be applied to however many columns I have, which will differ from table to table, but I always want the column header of each column to be of type myColumnObject.
I thought somethinglike this would work, but I'm getting java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to myColumnObject which makes sense, but I thought that I would be getting back my object.
p.s. I re-labeled all my code from my actual project, so if something looks off, it was probably just the re labeling.
public NewTestTable(MyColumnObjects[] fields)
{
setModel(new TestObjectTableModel(
new Object [][] {
},
fields
) {
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
public boolean isCellEditable(int rowIndex, int columnIndex) {

Question:_public class TaxComputer {
private static double basicRate = 4.0;
private static double luxuryRate = 10.0;
1. Create a class that will bundle together several static methods for tax computations. This class should not have a constructor. Its attributes are
• basicRate—the basic tax rate as a static double variable that starts at 4 percent - a private static method
• luxuryRate—the luxury tax rate as a static double variable that starts at 10 percent - a private static method
Its methods are
• computeCostBasic(price) —a static method that returns the given price plus the basic tax, rounded to the nearest penny.
• computeCostLuxury(price) —a static method that returns the given price plus the luxury tax, rounded to the nearest penny.
• changeBasicRateTo(newRate) —a static method that changes the basic tax rate.
• changeLuxuryRateTo(newRate) —a static method that changes the luxury tax rate.
• roundToNearestPenny(price)—a private static method that returns the given price rounded to the nearest penny. For example, if the price is 12.567, the method will return 12.57.
My code:
public class TejvirThindCh6Ex1 {
/**
* @param args the command line arguments
*/
//Atributes
private static double basicRate = 4.0;
private static double luxuryRate = 10.0;
public static double computercostbasic(double price)

I am working on a simple JAVA tutorial, not homework, where employee data is taken from an array and displayed on the console. The data is divided by department, age, name and for the Accounting and Information Systems departments, they are displayed in ascending order by employee age. Everything works except I am not getting the output to the console other than the titles. As I step through the debug, the data clearly is populating the array.
Here is my code:
Company Class:
package SimpleJavaAssignment;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.util.*;
[Code] .....
Prime Age Checker:
package SimpleJavaAssignment;
import java.math.*;
public class PrimeAgeChecker {
public boolean PrimeAgeChecker(int age) {
BigInteger bi = new BigInteger(String.valueOf(age));
boolean prime = bi.isProbablePrime(10);
return prime;
}

My code is running via javaw on Windows 7 and XP. It sits in the background waiting for a barcode to be swiped, and then wakes up and asks a question. The trouble is that sometimes (definitely not always), it shows like this:
The code is:
public static void Question(String sTitle,String sLabel) {
JFrame window = new JFrame();
// Create a modal dialog
d = new JDialog(window, sTitle, true);
d.setLayout( new BoxLayout(d.getContentPane(),BoxLayout.Y_AXIS) );
JPanel p1 = new JPanel();
[Code]...
Initially I though it might because I had another thread running which occasionally put up announcement messages in JFrames. But I have taken this out and the problem still persists.
