When I google it, only Handlers come up, but, as far as I understand, it is not applicable on client side.

Web Services :: Can Add WSS TimeToLive Request Property To Jaxws Client

Nov 14, 2014

I generated a WebService from a WSDL using JAXWS and import the finally generated WSDL to my SOAPUI to send out the request and view the response. For some reason, I always have to set WSS TimeToLive as 1000 in the request properties, else I get an error in the response. Now, I generated a client from the WSDL. I wonder if I need to set the WSS TimeToLive here as well

Web Services :: WebDav HTTP Extensions And REST

Nov 26, 2014

Are the WebDAV extensions related to REST principles? What I mean by that is, REST is an abstraction of the WWW architecture and the WebDAV is just an extension to the HTTP. So can we say that when I speak in terms of REST API's, I can restrict myself to HTTP and not HTTP extensions like WebDAV?

Web Services :: REST Interceptor Argument Pass Through

Mar 22, 2015

I hope this is the right forum. My question is about REST interceptors. I've got the code:

package edu.psu.swe.fortress.poc.interceptor;

import java.lang.annotation.ElementType;
import java.lang.annotation.Retention;
import java.lang.annotation.RetentionPolicy;
import java.lang.annotation.Target;

import javax.enterprise.util.Nonbinding;
import javax.ws.rs.NameBinding;

[Code]...

The output from the debug show that permissions values inside of the ResourceImpl contains the values I'd expect (foo,bar), but inside the interceptor, they're missing. Is there a way to get the arguments in ResourceImpl to pass through to the interceptor?

Log output looks like:

15:59:55,223 INFO [stdout] (default task-9) @edu.psu.swe.fortress.poc.interceptor.FortressProtected(permissions=[])
15:59:55,229 INFO [stdout] (default task-9) @edu.psu.swe.fortress.poc.interceptor.FortressProtected(permissions=[foo, bar])

Servlets :: Segregation Of POST And GET Request

Apr 8, 2014

We have a big application which is implemented in basic servlet. WE have Get and Post request in servlet. I want to provide them security if any malicious attack will happen on the form submit method. I want to make it secure. In detail, suppose if any user want to submit form/ any ajax request from my application and if he/she changes the method of submission from POST to GET then how I will recognize this?

I know that HTTPServletRequest object have GetMethod() but how I will detect that it is not changed by Tamper data/Fidler/Watir. One more way, I googled is by using GetQueryString() method but lot of the places I have query paramater in my POST request.

Servlets :: Unicode Post Request Parameters

Feb 10, 2014

I developed some servlet to get unicode parameters via post request. It worked perfectly fine since I set the encoding as below:

protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
HttpSession session = request.getSession(false);
response.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");
response.setContentType("text/html");
request.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8");
String fileContent = request.getParameter("fileContent");
}

Now that I have set up my dev environment on a new machine with new eclipse, it does not work.

It displays Ï instead of π.

I've already tried adding URIEncoding="UTF-8" to server.xml which did not work since it only affect get not post. I figured out how to get the parameter with correct encoding on the new system:

String[] parameters = URLDecoder.decode(request.getQueryString(), "UTF-8").split("&");

But I cannot believe that this is the solution because then what's the point of having request.getParameter. I already know that:

String sss = new String(fileContent.getBytes(),"UTF-8");

would not work.

The only requirement for LSL to work with it is there needs be a custom page that can handle get and post request directly. I have not done this with JSF yet so I'm wondering how that would look.

Web Services :: Rest Session Not Getting Invalidated After Invalidating UI Session?

Dec 17, 2014

I have 2 war in 1 EAR.

War A corresponds to UI

War B corresponds to Rest

1) From War A, I login to the application and then fetch some users that is a rest call. I get the response back from rest in json form that ui consumes and display the data on page.

2) Now I click on the logout link from ui jsp. This logs out the session from Ui. I use <form data-dojo-type="dijit/form/Form" based logout.

3) I then go to the proxy (using burp) and manually request the rest call which I made in step no 1), the rest gives the response back with the same json object returned in step no 1) This shows that the logout action on step 2) is invalidated the session from War A (ui war) but the session or cookie based from WAR B (rest war) is not invalidated.

Expected outcome:After I Logout from War A(ui war), the session must also get invalidated from war B (rest war) and manually request from proxy should not get the same response object as received in step 1)

What Happens To Connection Request When Server Is Busy Processing Previous Requests

Jan 31, 2015

I have written the following code to handle multiple Client Request. Lets Assume that it takes server 300 nano seconds(ns) to process one connection request. It recieves two connection requests at time t1 and t1+200ns. Since server is busy handling request 1 at time t1+200ns. what will happen to request 2.if yes what is the max size of that buffer?Maximum number of request that a server process per unit time depends on the java code.Is there also a limit to how many request a server can recieve per unit time?

public class EchoServer

public static void main(String args[])

ServerSocket serverSocket = null;

Securing Client Server HTTPs Connection

Mar 1, 2014

I have a https connection from Client to Server and a malware in client. The malware modifies the message and compromises its integrity. I am using a proxy to check the Integrity of the message after the malware has changed the message and before sending it over the internet to the server.

Now, How can I check the Integrity of the message (Sure that it has not been modified by any Man in the Middle) for the second half of my communication channel(Which is from Client to the Server over the internet).

I see few conventional approaches of CRC or Checksum will work. But I am looking for some non traditional or upcoming approaches.

Ideally SSL Data shouldn't be able to be decrypted by any MIM. But my assumption is that any Protocol is subjected to attack and compromised in real world and few recent studies are proving that https is breakable. Thus, I am trying to perform a What if analysis? On the client side, lets say malware is not more powerful than just modifies the transaction amount and destination account number in a typical online Baking transaction.
