View RepliesWe are creating a quiz as a school program, we are using netbeans and we have a little problem. The problem is that our JButton opens a new JFrame in a new window and we want it to stay in the same window. The code we are using is:

What I would like to do is generate a picture which is mostly white but the colour boundaries of the original picture are in black. I tried using the code below but it doesn't produce what I wanted.

I am new to javafx I start using it instead of swing i used the scene builder for my forms the problem i faced i don't know how to have main screen with menu bar at top and depending the select from the menu it will open other windows and those window must be inside my window just like for example netbeans.
I don't need to open new window in separate i need all windows inside my main window and controlling over them minimize maximize perhaps.
I've been assigned to create a Black Jack game with a gui. In this game I've created a seperate Player and Dealer class, and both initiated them, however when I try to call a Player object in a certain way I get a null pointer reference. (It should be noted that the Player object is an array)

What I don't get is if I change players[i] to dealer, it works fine.
I'm making a program that selects classes from a database via a jcombo box and then populates a time table with the class times.
I've used a custom cellrenderer that extends DefaultTableCellRenderer to text wrap the information and change the background of the cells.
It works but when i minimize the program it goes all black and if I double click I get a new JTextArea opening up on the timetable and when I minimize the program and go to open it again i get an "Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException" and the cell render seems to be called again even though i haven't rerun the program.

I would like to open the serial port in the beginning of the application and then close it when the applications closes. The problem that I am having is that I created a method to open the serial port in the main function but I can not close the serial port on exit off the application. I'm now working more and more on the go and although I can carry my Macbook Air without too much trouble I've just been given an iPad Mini by work and it's far easier to do what I do with that on the move.
For work I need to open around 35 different websites at one time 4/5 times a day on the move.
With my Macbook that's no issue, as I can just use the open all function of my bookmarks, but on the iPad there is nothing that will allow me to do this.
I have looked online and a few people have had this issue and fixed it using the below Java method:

I want to get the time elapsed while opening a pdf file . I am not able to find a way to do it using PDFBox, Is there any way using which I can create a PDDocument in my java program and use some API to launch the PDF file and measure the time elapsed in opening it.

Now, this all works fine - but what I want to do is create a separate .sql file for each table.
However, I can't figure out the best way to do this - how do I create a new FileWriter (or instance of whatever class is required) as I'm going through the while loop? That or pointing the same one to different files as I go through the loop.
It can be assumed that the file may exceed RAM - I want to do it line by line rather than slurping the entire file as a string and "cheating" that way.
There appear to be many (a bewildering amount of) I/O options and I'm just unsure.
