In this project each individual will create a data analysis program that will at a minimum,

I'm very new to Java and ran into a problem. My results are not in order and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
My results come out like this instead of being in order from lowest to highest: "77 99 44 55 22 88 11 0 66 33"

i am a french student in France and i am studying informatics . For validating my term at the beginning of January i have a projet in JAVA to do called YAHTZEE. I am trying to write a program in Java that uses threads.Below is the program requirements:The goal of this assignment is to create a routine which creates multiple threads, has them do work in parallel, and terminates when the last thread has finished.
The Scenario: There are several groups of people in a bar watching the Olympics cheering for their country. Each group will cheer for their country some given number of times, with a random pause (between 2 and 5 seconds) between each cheer. There is enough room at the bar for up to ten different groups to sit (each would be cheering for a different country).
The Program: The task is to write a program that will simulate these cheers using threads. The program should be called cheer.X (X being the language of choice). You may use any language that supports threading. When the program is run it should ask for the number of countries and then the name and how many times it will be cheered for. The main function will then create a thread for each team and each thread is responsible for cheering the specified number of times for the correct team at the random interval. My program successfully reads a file, reports back what it finds and creates an output file. However, I cannot get it to write to the output file, it is always blank!

I'm having some trouble with getting this program to read an input of morse code and then produce an output of English. When typing in morse code for the phrase 'the string', the output looks something like this:
I've got a nasty nullpointer that I have tried to resolve to no avail as of yet. The program should prompt for a listings.txt file and take its info and write to a report file. Here's the stacktrace:

What are formatted input & output in Java? I want to know the difference between general "input & output" & "formatted input & output"? And what is the reason of the naming it as formatted.
I am not getting the result I am looking for, but I'm sure I'm on the right track. I have an array, names + times of marathon runners, and should end up with a program that displays the slowest runner, and the next-slowest runner.
Currently, I get this: The lowest time is 273. The lowest time is 243.
Changing names.length to times.length changes nothing. for (i = 1;... ) changes nothing.
The displayed number should currently only be 243. Why is it displaying 273 first, and at all?
