Action Event Doesn't Seem To Activate ActionListener
Mar 10, 2015
I have a frame showing some textfields and a couple of buttons, the classical "Ok" and "Reset" buttons, which are supposed to confirm the values of the textfields (closing the frame) and reset them respectively.
I think I thoroughly followed the "delegation method procedure" for managing event, that is , create the button object, define a listener class (implementing the ActionListener interface) , and add the listener class to the button using the "addActionListener" method . But there's no way to make the whole thing work.
No exception. Only when I click the button the "actionPerformed" method of the listener is simply ignored, as if it didn't exist.
Here is the code :
public FrameViewAddEstrazione (String ExtrPath) {
try
{
FilePath = ExtrPath;
F = new JFrame ();
PP = new JPanel();
PD = new JPanel(); // pannello data
I am working on a 3D-Projekt, but that's not the point. I wanted to call a function to turn the camera and want, that the function ist called while the key is pressed. I tried following:
private ActionListener actionListener = new ActionListener() { public void onAction(String name, boolean pressed, float tpf) if (name.equals("Camera Left") && pressed) { setViewAngle(-1);
I think, I have to change the ActionListener "onAction", but I can't remember in which way. In the actual code the programm only once perform the action when the key is pressed.
I already tried :
while(pressed) {setViewAngle(-1)}
But that didn't work, but get the whole programm to halt.
import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.sql.*; public class ChickenListener implements ActionListener { int loopctrl; static Connection cn; static Statement st; static ResultSet rs; static PreparedStatement ps;
[Code]...
the second code
import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.sql.*; public class QuantityCounterListener implements ActionListener { String tempStrng; int tempInt; int x = 0;
[Code]...
what my problem is i need to transfer what does "tempString" from code 1 holds to code 2 in the //x part in the prepared statement.
I want to use this class and method with all of my buttons and text fields. My program contains 1 push button that adds questions and answers to a test, 2nd button that starts a test, a 3rd button that scores the test, and a text field that enters the user information. How would this work? I know how to create questions and answers, start a test, and score a test it's just a matter of how to implement the button and text fields. I'll post the code that I have done so far.
See:
private class ButtonListener implements ActionListener{ public void actionPerformed (ActionEvent event)
with all of my buttons and text fields.
import javax.swing.JFrame; public class TestingDriver { //----------------------------------------------------------------- // Creates and displays the main program frame. //----------------------------------------------------------------- public static void main (String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame ("Testing Program"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation (JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
I use the right term, release resources because after clicking the close button, the DOS prompts becomes unresponsive. So I have to close the DOS prompt, then reopen it, then type in the path again for the Java folders. Can you check where did I go wrong with my code? Is my placement of the WindowListener and WindowAdapter incorrect? Please refer to my code below:
I have other programs where the placement of the WindowListener and WindowAdapter are as exactly like this (within the class constructor block) where they close correctly and some that behave like this, that renders the DOS prompt unresponsive.
This is my first servlet program. I wanted to try a web application where "register" user module will be in servlet program.I can access my index.jsp but when I enter values and click submit.
I get "There is no Action mapped for namespace [/] and action name [RegisterUserServlet] associated with context path [/TrainingApplication]. - [unknown location]".
Here's my index.jsp file:
<%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <%@ taglib prefix="s" uri="/struts-tags"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head>
I got an application with JScrollPanes; they seem to work fine, but fresh after the start, their scrollbars seem dead:I only begin to see their components after resizing the application window with the mouse.Clicking the scroll bars or their buttons (in Metal Look&Feel) does nothing.And there is no 'knob' visible.Dragging the side or bottom of the application window suddenly shows all and makes them operational.My ComponentListener on the window that contains the scrollpanes only does a repaint on the components inside the scrollpanes.Adding such to the code has no effect, neither does a repaint on the scrollpanes themselves.
public void paint(Graphics g) { g2=(Graphics2D)g; rectangle=new Rectangle(50,50,100,100); } public action() { JFrame frame=new JFrame("Assignment 2"); frame.setSize(700,700); frame.setVisible(true); frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);

I'm trying to add shapes on my panel once a button is clicked.The tutorials I found is having only 1 panel & therefore they can use g.drawRect() directly but I have few panels & that's the part I don't know how to implement it.The coding above with (//invalid) is the part I would like to write it out but it's invalid.
I am trying to implement user input in my dice rolling program but I do not understand where I need to add the actionListener. What I want the program to do is allow the user to click on each roll button and have the output be between 1 and 6. I figured I can put it in the "main" class due to the size of the program but I would like to know the best way to go about adding the actionListener into a sub-class for practice purposes.Here is my code thus far:
package com.jprogs; import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; public class DiceGenerator extends JFrame { DiceRollEvent dice = new DiceRollEvent(); // create the roll buttons JButton roll_1 = new JButton("Roll #1"); JButton roll_2 = new JButton("Roll #2"); JButton roll_3 = new JButton("Roll #3"); JButton roll_4 = new JButton("Roll #4"); JButton roll_5 = new JButton("Roll #5"); // create output field for each roll
A main JFrame which include some text and a Button (The Start Button), and I made an ActionListener for that Button to another ActionListener which have a for, but when I run the project I only see the final of the for loop.
I am making an MVC program and I am not allowed to put the action listeners in the view class. I was able to get one button working fine but since I am unable to reference them I cannot give them both individual responses.
import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; public class Controller { HobbyList model; ListView view;
My output is all over the place. I cancelled out the borderlayouts beneath each panel I created and it completely changed the output, and I'm not sure why. The first photo below, shows what it looked like with the layouts and the second shows the output without. I still don't understand why I don't see the digits 1-9.
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; public class Atm extends JFrame { Atm(){ super("ATM"); //Create Panels For ATM JPanel buttonPanel1 = new JPanel(); //To Contain Digits 1-9
[Code] ....
Why would setting the layout beneath each object change the layout so much? I stayed consistent in my use of BLayout and GLayout in the program.
I'm using Eclipse with the Window Builder Pro plugin to create a Java program. I noticed that when I had Eclipse create an action listener for a combobox in a Swing GUI it created an AWT listener.
Did I choose the wrong type of listener? I want my code to use the Swing components because I understand that they are more portable.
I am using the DJWebbrowser in a Java Swing Application that I am working on
// Browser addon as Panel JPanel browser = new JPanel(); browser = (JPanel) util.BPanel.createContent(); wrapper.add(browser);
and am sending data from a Google Map API , Distance Matrix Query with following code
function callback(response, status) { if (status != google.maps.DistanceMatrixStatus.OK) { alert('Error was: ' + status); } else { var origins = response.originAddresses; var destinations = response.destinationAddresses; var outputDiv = document.getElementById('outputDiv');
[code]...
I haven't found a way to access a class property from the class that invoked the web browser, because the above WebBrowserAdapter is in an anonymous Inner Class.´I would like to have the distance that is sent from the Javascript to the application be passed on to the class member "distance" that in the invoking class.
i have a row of int JTextfields and i want to get a running total of the sum of all boxes in the last total JTextfield, as the user types.I understand its an actionlistener but whats the best way of doing it. What the action to listen out for?
How can I remove the ActionListener from the buttons of my application after i have got something happen.
Please consider the following application:
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class Exer1218659 extends JFrame { private String[] textButtons; private Container contents;
[Code] .....
After the line 37 executes I expect that the ActionHandler (ah) will be removed from all of the buttons but this do not happen, then all the remaining button still responding to the clicks. Where is the problem in my code.
I was working on implementing the game Hunting the Wumpus [URL] .... for one of my projects in College. I've got the major parts of the game already implemented. I am working on creating a start screen right now. But I've run into a strange problem. In my code the main method that draws is the PaintComponent method in the private class HTWPanel. I need the Actionlistener to listen to the "QWES" keys while the state of the game is PlayState.Playing so that the user can enter the direction he's going in. If I have the following code for my paint component, the Actionlistener works fine.
public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); map.draw(g, 100); }
But when I try to add a start screen (by changing the background color and adding a label called "StartScreen"), the controller only listens to keys while the start screen is showing, not while the game is playing. I'm pretty sure this problem is due to some internal implementation of KeyAdacpter or ActionListener, but I'm not sure what.
public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); if (state == PlayState.START) { this.setBackground(Color.orange); this.add(startScreen); } else if (state == PlayState.PLAYING) { if (this.getBackground() != Color.WHITE) {this.setBackground(Color.WHITE);} map.draw(g, 100); }
I attached a screenshot of my main class, HuntTheWumpus, and a screenshot of what my game looks like so far. Each square is a different room in the Wumpus's lair. The black rectangles are door representing which direction you can go to. The rooms that are 2 squares or less from the wumpus are colored red. The hunter is represented by the black circle in the upper left hand square. His he can move left right up and down into different rooms with the "QWES" keys.
I've scanned the book and a few other forums trying to find an answer to my particular question (or I simply didn't understand) with no luck. I want to create an ActionListener for my ATM machine, that will both receive the input numbers to check them against the passcode for a predefined user, but also add the typical " * " that we see when performing such an action.
1. I have created individual objects for each button, which I then used in the constructor "perform" from class action. I'm not sure where to start in the method ActionPerformed.
2. How do I get the asterisks to appear in the JPasswordField each time a numeric button is pressed on the keypad?
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class Atm extends JFrame { Atm(){ super("ATM"); //Create Panels For ATM JPanel buttonPanel1 = new JPanel(); //To Contain Digits 1-9 buttonPanel1.setLayout(new GridLayout(4,3));
So im making a calculator just basic 4 function with a clear button. as i am working into this project i am running into an issue of assigning which click sets what. For instance i click the two button how do i tell it to assign it to firstNum, versus secondNum?
private class theHandler implements ActionListener{ public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event){ if(event.getSource()==one){ firstNum=1; } if(event.getSource()==two){ secondNum =2; } if(event.getSource()==three){ secondNum =3; }
So this for instance allows me to set one to the firstNum and then add it to two or three but im not sure what to do next. I have in my mind i want to do something like make three listener classes, that operate in sequential order like you pick the first numbers, click an operation, and then select the second numbers then hit the operation(equal) button to display answer. Am i on the right track or what?
I have developed a web portal using jsp and struts 2. I have approximately 10 JSP pages which looks exactly the same and have two text areas and two hidden fields. All 10 pages are exactly the same except for hidden field value. Can't i have a single common jsp page. How can i achieve it. A sample page i am attaching...
