You are to write a parallel program that will receive a large array of unsorted integers containing digits from 0 to 99. The program will have to calculate the SUM and AVERAGE of ODD number digits between 25 and 75 (inclusive).
The user may specify the size or the array and the total processor that the machine has. The size of the array must be divisible by number of processor. Based on the given size, the computer will generate random integer numbers automatically to populate the array.
The program should display the status of the calculation for each processor. The result should be displayed after all calculations are completed.Error messages should be displayed appropriately
a) Write a sequential (non-parallel) program that will accomplish above task.
b) Write a concurrent (parallel) program that will produce the result of the above task.

Goal is to: Write a program that prompts the user to input an integer and then outputs both the individual digits of the number and the sum of the digits.
First I don't know where I made mistakes here, and the only error it finds right now is that str2 was not initialized and I cannot figure out where/when to initialize it.

Write a program to simulate this airport's operation. You might assume a simulated clock that advances in one-minute intervals. For each minute, generate two random numbers: If the first in less than LandingTime /60, a "landing arrival" has occurred and is added to the landing queue, and if the second is less than TakeOffTime /60, a "takeoff arrival" has occurred and is added to the takeoff queue.

Right now, I am stuck on the first calculation which is trying to figure out the average size of the landing queue. For some reason, as you can see at the bottom of my demo program, the average always comes out to be 0.0 and I'm not sure what's wrong.
Secondly, how to calculate the average time a plane stays inside a queue for.

Given a Numbers instance, whose fields are arrays of all the built-in Java numeric types (int, long, float, double, big-decimal, etc), write a method to sort all the numbers into a master list, and then print out the numbers where the number of digits past the decimal point is equal to the index of the number in the master list.
Is there a function in Java that will give me just the numbers after the decimal? I tried Decimalformat but couldn't get it to work. Here is what I have so far; however, I think I might be on the wrong track.

I have returned with yet another problem but I think this one might be a bit easier to fix.
So the whole MO of this program is to take user input, and display the sum of the digits of the number they entered. I am supposed to do this by utilizing methods. So far this is what I have and when I compile it tells me that it "cannot find symbol", which I don't understand as I define what "m" is in the for loop. The other error is that it says:
"Exercise6_2.java:22: error: incompatible types: possible lossy conversion from long to int

I don't understand why it's giving me this error nor do I understand why result seems to inherently be an int. (Also the public static int sumDigits(long n) method was given to me by the book so that is what I am supposed to use).

Find the numbers which is closest to the average sum for a given array of N (1<=N<=50) of natural numbers. If there are two numbers who meet the requirement, return the smaller of the two.

My objective is to execute quick sort ( i was told to convert the pseudocode from the Cormen book) using arrays of increasing sizes and find the average number of comparisons for each of those sizes over 100 iterations. This is a school project and the numbers I am getting are far larger than those of my friends, so I am clearly doing something wrong. I believe it must be in the way that I am collecting and averaging my number of comparisons. I will first give the method in which most of that calculating is done, then I will include the whole program.

I have to create a program that calculates the nth Fibonacci number and returns that to the user. Fibonacci said his number sequence would describe the ideal breeding patterns of immortal rabbits. So, you are going to make this vision a reality.
First, take in a numeric value from the user and calculate that value in the fibonacci series. Next, find an image of a rabbit and display the image on a GUI (put the image as an icon on a label!) the number of times returned by the algorithm (Put all the aforementioned labels on one panel with FlowLayout!).
You need to remove the old images from the Panel. Probably the easiest way to do this is to create a whole new panel and remove the old one (hint: the remove method of JPanel should come in handy)
You could use an array of JLabels
You will need to create a new JLabel and add each member of the array to the panel
I should be able to scroll to see any images that are off screen
I am having difficultly on to making the array list for JLabel, and getting the Fibonacci sequence to show the pictures of rabbits. Below is my current code.
