Calculate Distance Between Two Coordinates And Determine How Much Of Which Axis To Increment / Decrement

Basically I'm looking for a way to make one object follow another. For example, if I move object A to one area of the screen I want object B to to move to object A's location but I also want object B to move at a fixed speed (movement variable). How do I go about doing this?

Both the x and y coordinates of object B would need to know the coordinates of object A to calculate the distance between the two and to determine how much of which axis to increment/decrement (if that makes sense?) with the inclusion of the speed variable. In other words I'm just trying to create a homing object.

The variables in the formula are as follows: d is the distance in meters, g is 9.8, and t is the amount of time, in seconds, that the object has been falling.

Write a method named FallingDistance that accepts an object's falling time (in seconds) as an argument. The method should return the distance, in meters, that the object has fallen during the time interval. Demonstrate the method by calling it in a loop that passes the values 1 through 10 as arguments, and displays the return value.

Vector Math - Calculate Equation Of A Plane That Would Rely On All Axis

I am running into some trouble with Line-Plane intersection, my method works, provided I am perpendicular to the plane I want to intersect. This is caused be the plane equation (with my given x, y, and z coordinates, the equation is -Z - 1 = 0). So the equation is only relying on the Z value of anything inputted. Is there another way to calculate the equation of a plane that would rely on all axis? Here is my current code:

Java Program Method To Calculate Distance

Write method distance, which calculates the distance between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2). All numbers and returned values should be of type double. Incorporate this method into an program that enable the user to enter the coordinates of the points, then calculate and display the distance by calling the method –distance.

I've tried numerous times to make it work and I'm on the right path, however I'm missing some things in the code to make my results look like this later on, which I've attached onto this post.

I've just been having a go at an exercise where I have to create and use a class called Point, with two fields of type double. I have to create some methods for it, one of which is a distanceTo(Point) method, that calculates the distance to another point. I've tried to keep the distanceTo(Point) method short so have created some other methods to use within the method. My question is about the getDistance() method that I've made. As you can see below, I've given it two parameters, which are references to values within two Point objects (this.x and otherPoint.x).

I want to print a table (array) where I have an X axis and a Y axis. 16x11. My code is as follows:

Moving Object In Y Axis

I just have one problem with a "car" program in java. The objective is to move the car in the direction it is facing. Moving forward in the normal position (when the angle is zero) means moving in the x-axis. Choosing to turn the car function (for example: 90 ) and then using the forward function should move up or down the car in the y-axis. However the y-axis is not working.

The way I would like to do so, is to have a small 'configure button', once clicked, would rotate the entire table along its y axis, and display another panel with checkboxes etc... JavaFX 2.0 :: BarChart Axis Tick-labels Missing With JDK1.8

Currently I try to integrate a JavaFX BarChart into my existing Java application. Therefore I need a BufferedImage of my BarChart, so that I can render that snapshot on a Graphics instance.
 
I adapted the existing BarChartSample.java (Chart Sample | JavaFX Tutorials and Documentation) and removed all animations. The code itselfs works fine but I identified one problem -> my TickLabels are missing
 
The TickLabels are visible If I use JDK 1.7u51 but if I change to JDK 1.8u05.... than the stlye of my BarChart will be changed and my tick labels are not visible.
 
Did I missed something or is that a bug?

JavaFX Get Coordinates From Path?

I'm working on a project right now in JavaFX, and got stuck. I am drawing a path consisting of CubicCurveTo's and I wonder if there's any way to get the X and Y coordinates from certain parts of that path.

Imagine following a curve (path) with a pencil slowly, and every second you take note the X and Y coordinate. I mean I'm not interested in the control points or start and end points, but the points "in between", preferably at a certain interval.

I've searched for many things online, but have trouble knowing exactly which words to search for. "Paths" often bring up file paths, traversing, coordinates etc. all fail to give me any good results.

I tried to be as specific I could, and I don't think my current code is of any interest in this matter.

(The point of it all is that the path should simulate the path a person walks, and I will store the coordinates in a database for every second).

How To Get Coordinates Of Transparent Area In Image

How to find coordinates of transparent area in the image. I working on .png image which has transparent background and transparent area in the middle of the image. The transparent area in the middle look a like ellipse, so i want to find coordinate of top, bottom, left, and right of that area. I am using opencv.

I have tried to find pixels and from result that i got, i understand that pixel with rgb that equal to 255.0 255.0 255.0 is transparent. what i have in my mind is, if rgb with value that equal to 255 255 255 detected, i will put 1 into arraylist named transparent, and if it not equal to 255 255 255 i will put 0 into the list. So when i look into the list, if there is 1 0 or 0 1 it means that border between transparent area and colored area or vice versa. But, how to know if that border is between transparent area in the middle of image and the image, and not between background and the image. Am i doing this correctly?
