Checking Reference That Is Not Duplicate
Jan 29, 2014
How can i check the reference that is not duplicate and date format is DDDCCYYnnnnnnn, CC must be 20 and YY must not be less than the current year, nnnnnnn is the sequetial number of the file and to complete the 7 numeric characters, zero's must be populated in front of the number. DDD must be a valid reporting entity code. there must not be a duplicate. Code I try
private boolean test-date()
{
String s_Ref = this.transactionFile.getsReference();
boolean flag = true;
if(!isValidPattern(s_Ref, "[0-9]{14}"))
[Code] ....
The reference number is like 201401030234509
If there is duplicate show error code 105

I have a java file 'Arithmetic.java', in which i have 2 overridden method.Now i wanted to read this file and i need to print all the method signature lines,if i found same(overridden method)signature then i have to print "overridden method found". once i find the overridden method i have to suffix the method name as methodName_overridden1, methodName_overridden2 and so on...
package com.abcd.arithmetic;
public class AllArithmatic
{
public Integer add(int x,int y,int z)
{
return (x+y-z);
}
public Float substract(float x, float y)
[code]....
till now i am able to read the lines, able to read the method names as well. but while putting the entire method signatures into an string array and the suffixing part , i am not able to proceed. The condition i have put to find out oerridden method is nnot working.i am stucked in comparing the duplicate method
//Finds Method Name, Method Return Type
if(indexOfMethod >-1 && indexOfOpenBrace >-1){
int uniqueWordsInFile=0;
//Method signature Start
//System.out.println("method line="+line.trim());
List<String> methodList = new ArrayList<String>();
methodList.add(line.trim());
[code]....

I am having some difficulty adding a new item to the HashTable when a collision occurs. We can only use the basic utilities to code this, so we are coding a HashTable by hand. We have an array of length of 10, which each index holds or will hold a Node for a Linked List.
The code hashes fine, adds the item, but the problem exists when adding items that already been hashed. The project is much bigger, but this is the engine behind the rest, and I figured I would tackle this first.
The items we are adding are objects which are states containing different information, we hash based on the ASCII sum % tableSize.
Here is the code I am testing with to add items:
HashTable ht = new HashTable(10);
State az = new State("Arizona","AZ","W",2,"Y",2);
State fl = new State("Florida", "FL", "F", 2, "X", 2);
State hi = new State("Hawaii", "HI", "H", 3, "Z", 1);
State al = new State("Alabama", "AL", "A", 5, "W", 0);
ht.insert(hi);

I am making a WebCrawler, and I am trying to work out a way to stop duplicate links from getting put in however ArrayList.contains() doesnt seem to be working for me can someone look at my code and see if I am doing something wrong? I have also tried variations of it such as
!link.contains(newLink)
and
!link.contains(newLink.getLinkUrl())
with no luck. The Problem area is
for(Element lnks: link){
linkSrc = lnks.absUrl("href");
WebPage newLink = new WebPage(linkSrc);
if(!link.contains(linkSrc)){
links.add(newLink);

I need to know how many four letter strings I can generate that begin with the letter "v". Now I had been testing many ways to do this but anm stuck. I can generate a single line up only a certain amount. I need it to continue till it reaches the max number. So since it needs to always start with V i eliminated the need for four and only a 3 letter string.

I am working on this project that wants me to write a program that inputs 20 numbers, each of which is between 10 and 100, inclusive. As each number is read, display it only if it is not a duplicate of a number already read. The only part I am confused about is how to go about checking for duplicate values that the user may enter. And IF the user does input a duplicate value, it should not be stored again.In addition, the value entered should be printed out after it is entered along side the value that have been previously entered by the user such as:
23
23 45
23 45 67
23 45 67 12
and so on.
I am still fairly new at java programming.
import java.util.*;
public class NumberArray
{
public static void main(String[] args) {
// declare an array with 5 elements

I have a practice program (written with NetBeans IDE 7.4) that calls methods to:
(1) fill an array with user input values
(2) sort the array values into ascending order
(3) print the array in assorted order.
(4) print the array without any duplicates
Method (4) prints the contents of the array without printing any duplicates. That is, if a number in the array has already been printed, it will not be printed again.
Method (4) seems to work, but may be inefficient or I may have done too much work making it difficult on myself or making the logic too confusing.
Is there a better way to do this WITHOUT using built-in functions in Java's library?
(Such as writing this method using for loops and counter variables: As practice I am supposed to avoid using Deleting functions for duplicates)
Here is my code:
public static void Duplicates(int [] array){
int duplicates = 1;
String Output = "";
for(int i = 0; i < array.length -1; i++) {
if (array[i] != array[i+1]){
duplicates ++;
[Code] .....

Nested for-loops always throw me in a loop.I found a snippet that uses 2 for-loops to check if there is a duplicate element in the array:
/*
* brute force way of checking if array contains duplicates in Java comparing each elements to all other elements of array complexity on order of O(n^2) not advised in production
*/
public static boolean bruteforce(String[] input) {
for (int i = 0; i < input.length; i++) {
for (int j = 0; j < input.length; j++) {
if (input[i].equals(input[j]) && i != j) {
return true;
}
}
}
return false;
}
Let us say we have:
String[] input = new String[] {"one","two","three","one"}

Introduction: There is a glossary table of English and French words. The glossary table has duplicate rows and is out of order. I would like to remove the duplicates and sort them by the English column.
1. Open the glossary.html file in your browser, you will see a table on the left with an English column and a French column. On the right hand side of the screen you will see the unit test results. As you complete each TODO the unit tests will pass.
2. There are five areas marked TODO in the glossary.html file,
complete all of the TODOs. Check that all of the unit tests pass. This test project uses the following frameworks:

I'm trying to find the int with the lowest value, and I only know how to set it up like this:
Let's say x1 is the lowest.
int x1, x2, x3, x4;
if (x1 < x2 && x1 < x3 && x1 < x4) System.put.println("x1 is the lowest value out of those 4");
Is there a way to shorten this at all? (It's alright if there isn't, just looking for shortcuts)

I want get a specific document from data set if a given string matches in that document.
If given string is 'what is java' and,
doc1='... what is full form of java ...'
doc2='... is java what ...'
doc3='... what is java ...'
then the output should contains doc1, and doc3.
I'm trying like this.
for(String key_word: key.split("W+")) {
for (String _word : line1.split("W+")) {
if(word.toLowerCase().equals(key_word.toLowerCase())) {
key_final=key_final+" "+key_word;
}
}
}
I'm getting wrong output containing doc1, doc2 and doc3.But I want only the exact match. Here each document is containing some paragraphs.

I have a programming assignment in which I have to make a program which loads a crossword from a Properties file and then, when the user press a button, the program checks if the letters the user has typed in the interface are the same as in the correct matrix. If all the letters from a word are correct, the program must paint every letter of the word green.
I'm using two matrix, one that is called "mundo" (I 'm from Latin America) , which has the correct letter for each box. The other one is a JtextField matrix which ='ve created using a Gridllayout. I called this one crucigrama (crossword in Spanish)
This is the code I wrote to validate: So you can understand, here is a translation:
numero = number
fila = row
column = columna
bien - a boolean I used to check if the letter I've checked before are the same as the correct ones
.darLetra() - returns a string with the correct letter
