I need to create a program that draws random numbers and stores them in an array. How many numbers to be drawn is dependent on the array length, which is a parameter in the class constructor. (The entire array to be filled!) The program shall, however, just save the figures are not drawn already. (Ie, the array must contain only one instance of each numeral.) All figures drawn should be in the range of 100 to 1000, both limits included. These limits are defined as named constants. When all the numbers are generated and stored in the array, the program should find the largest, smallest and average value of the numbers in the array. In addition, it should find the value closest gjennomnstittetsverdien.

I have a class project working on that is supposed to ask the user for input and create a random set of #'s in 4 rows. However it compiles but doenst run At one point Eclipse was telling me Scanner not closed?

I'm trying to make a java program that draws a spiral like this: [URL] ....
It was use a draw method to draw it in a specific way. What I have in my code so far is:

It would be made through a 2d array and the values for how big the lines are would be stored in another file called line_details.txt which contains these values 0 200 1 175. So how would I implement this stuff into a Java code?

For a project we have to "shuffle" items in an array using random numbers. We are supposed to generate random numbers and use those numbers to exchange array elements. But I am not sure what that means, "exchange array elements". Does that mean you generate 2 random numbers within the length of the array, and then switch the items at those locations in the array?

I am writing a program that creates an array with random numbers. Then the user can choose what number of the array he/she wants to check the occurance of. This works fine, but the numbers generated seems very weird, only 2 of the 10 possible numbers are generated. 0 and one of the other 9 numbers, the 0 is always 10100 and the other one is always 101.

Write a program that stores the total rainfall for each of the 12 months into an array of doubles. The program should have methods that return the following:
The total rainfall for the year
The average monthly rainfall
The month with the most rain
The month with the least rain
And the code:

I was inquiring about selecting random numbers from a Fibonacci array, the original post for which is here: Exiting a 'for' Loop Early. I have managed to achieve this with the following code:
System.out.println("Random numbers from the Fibonacci array");
for(int i = 0; i < limit; i++) //Limit is an 'int' of 15 & is set as the length of the Fib. array. I'm calling it for the Random array, too!!

When the code prints I get a random set of numbers which occur in the Fibonacci sequence preceding it. However, the actual length of this Random array also changes each time, and never more than the limit of 15 specified in the 'for' loop. What I want to try and do is print the Random array with a specific length each time. I've tried changing the conditional statement of the 'for' loop in different ways to set the Random array's length, but had no luck.

I'm trying to generate random 100 numbers, from 0 to 9, in an array using Math.random, but it only outputs 0s which is very confusing to me. Also, I need to be able to count how many different integers there are like 0s, 1s, 2s... 8s, 9s.
Here's my code, I only got as far as the array then got stumped on the counting part.

I have been assigned to write a program that has a user input random numbers then the program is to sort them in different ways. I have the coding for the different sorts but, I have an error saying that I am missing a return statement in the "Bubble" method. I am trying to return "arr[i]" in the "for loop" which gives me this error, and when I try to take the "return arr[i]" outside of the "for()" loop the error reads the it cannot locate variable "i".

how to translate it into Java language due to lack of experience (2 weeks). My solution I've formed in my head is: create a new array for the numbers that are in improvement and then declare a "max" variable. Check which array's length is higher and print that length. What I don't know to do is: I don't know how to create a new array for each numbers that are passing through the condition.
Note: I couldn't find anything on internet about my problem so that's why I'm here.

I'm trying to create a circular array which prints out 8 numbers that increase by one and don't exceed 9. If they do, the remaining numbers are printed from 0 on-wards. I have code below which does this job, but it doesn't really use an array to loop back.

I'm trying to make a program that generates 20 random integers between 1 and 20 and then prints the list of random numbers to the screen. After that, I want to print a different list to screen with the same numbers from the first list only skipping any number that has been already printed to the screen. So two lists are printed to the screen. The first one has 20 random numbers. The second one has those same 20 numbers but only prints the numbers in the first list that aren't duplicated. So if m
y list of 20 random integers contains three 2s and two 14s, only one 14 and one 2 is printed to the second list. Currently, my code generates 20 numbers from 1 to 20 and stores those numbers in an array but I don't know how to print solve the second part of my problem. I don't know how to print the s different list only without duplicate numbers. As a result, my output is nothing because it doesn't print any number from the first list as oppose to skipping only duplicate one.

I am working on a project that requires me to build a database with random access file, representing products, the base product contains a name (about 30 characters), a price (double), and a quantity (integer). I have worked on this project for probably 15+ hours and have tried so many things and feel like I've barley made any progress...
The part i am really struggling with is taking the data from the text file and creating an object array with it using the product class. Once ive accomplished that, i have to use that data to create a random access file with the data. Here is the base Product class that must be used to create the objects for the array.

these continue for about 40-50 entries, they are not seperated by a blank line though i had to add those so it would display correctly, each entry is on its own line with name seperated with spaces, then price after a comma, then quanity after the second comma.....

i'm trying to write a program that uses an array to store 10 numbers. The numbers should be randomly generated ( Math.random() ), and they should be between 1 and 100 ( 1 and 100 inclusive ). The program should produce an output like the one below:

Write a program to create an integer array of size 20. Then, the program should generate and insert random integers between 1 and 5, inclusive into the array. Next, the program should print the array as output.
A tremor is defined as a point of movement to and fro. To simulate it, the program will generate a random number between 0 and 19, which represents the location in the array (i.e. index number). Then, the 3 numbers to the left and right of this location should be reset to the value 0. If there isn't 3 numbers to the left and right you may assume a lesser number depending on the boundaries of the array.
Then, the final array should be printed as output. There is no user input for this program.Your program must include, at least, the following methods:
-insertNumbers, which will take as input one integer array and store the random numbers in it.
-createTremor, which will generate the random number as the location and return it.
A sample run of the program is shown below:

Assume that vehicles are going through a two-way traffic intersection. There are three types of vehicles: car, motor bikes and trucks. Generate a series of 10 random integers, between 1 and 3,inclusive.The numbers represent the type of vehicle as stated below:

Write a program, using a for loop, to count how many vehicles going through the traffic intersection are cars, motor bikes and trucks. I am currently taking a class in the field. My assignment is to generate 6 unique random numbers using a "Do While" expression. I might be mistaken but doesnt the inner loop execute first and then it works its way out? With this logic I believe my code should work but then again its not.

I've been trying to find the easiest way to write to generate a number which is between intervals of a arbitrary min and a max value.I've been searching for this but I don't find this particular thing.I've found that this combination works:
Java Code: int guess = rand.nextInt(max - (min - 1)) + min; mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
But I wonder, is this really the easiest way of writing it?

I am working on a bingo project and created random numbers between 1 and 75 to generate. I have it set up that it shows the number in a text box and changes the color on the board if the number is called. When I test the program, some numbers are highlighted in addition to the number called. I believe this is because extra numbers are being chosen, but not being noted in the text box.
