Creating Java Program That Prints The Smallest Number
May 9, 2015
Here is my code :
import java.util.Scanner;
public class smallestnumber
{
public static void main(String args[])
{
Scanner input=new Scanner(System.in);
int smallest =0;
int number;
[Code]...
here is the output of my code:
Enter the number
88
Enter the number
8
Enter the number
6
Enter the number
55
I am trying to create a method that prints the square root of a number up to a certain number. It needs to take a single int parameter for example "n" , and then print all of the (positive) even perfect squares less than n, each on a separate line. I want the method to be called something like this:
public void Squares(int n) { }
I need the output to look something like this:
Example: if n = 40, your code should print
4 16 36
So I have been working for a few hours now and am really stuck.
This is what I have so far:
int count = 0; int n = 4; int max = n; while(count < max) { System.out.println(n); n = n * n; count++;
I am trying to write a java program that prints out the number that is the mathematical constant e. As you input a number, the larger it gets , the closer it comes to 2.71828 . Here is my code:
//taylor series that prints out e^1=1+1/1!+1/2!+1/3!+..... import java.util.Scanner; public class taylor_1 { public static void main(String args[]) { Scanner input=new Scanner(System.in); int factorial =1;
I was given the assignment of creating a number to word program for my first college java programming homework.
Here is what I have created so far :
import java.util.*; public class PrintNumberInWord { // saved as "PrintNumberInWord.java" public static void main(String[] args) { int number = 5; Scanner sc = new Scanner (System.in); { System.out.println ("Enter a number"); System.out.println(" "); if (number == 1) {
[Code] .....
The first lines were made for us so we could follow a guideline, however, no matter what I type the command prompt displays 5 to me, I know thats because 5 is defined in the beginning but backspacing 5 causes the program not to work at all, how can I get this program to work properly?
import java.util.Scanner; public class AvgLrgSml{ public static void main(String[]args){ System.out.print("Hello there. Please enter any three numbers."); Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); double num1 = keyboard.nextDouble(); double num2 = keyboard.nextDouble();
/* Purpose: To write the methods and the rest program. The program should fill a 4 X 4 2 dimensional array with random numbers between 100 and 200. The program should then determine and print the largest and smallest values within the array using two Methods Largest and Smallest. The program should then determine and print the number of values within the array that are even using a function called Even. The program should also enter a loop that will only terminate when the user inputs a -1 as a choice. The loop should continue to ask the user to guess a number that was randomly generated. The program should call the Findit function to determine if the number was in the array. The program should print out the values in the array when the user selects a -1 and then terminate. */
import java.util.Scanner; import java.util.Random; public class LNFI_2DArray { public static void main(String[] args) { int guess; int[] array = new int[4];
[Code] ....
I just had this code working, then all of a sudden i was hit with a 'keyboard leak' error code.
A java program to print 10 random numbers between 512 and 1024 and then finds the smallest and biggest numbers from the list using only one loop
class BSLab4d { public static void main (String[] args){ int[] nums = new int[10]; int largest = nums[0]; int x = 0; int smallest = nums[0]; int y = 0;
I'm creating a program that will compile and run another java program:Lets say I have a program in directory
D:HelloWorldsrc and compiled program will be in D:HelloWorldin inside src and bin is a folder hello (that's a package)
package hello; public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World"); System.out.println("Hello World"); } }
This program will be run by another program (that's the program that I am creating).Here is the code of my program:
package runnercompiler; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; public final class RunnerCompiler {
Here is a simple program on applets that is giving me a bit of headache since it cannot always display the two numbers that it is supposed to: the largest and smallest of the five input integers.....I cannot see where i went wrong, you can always create separately the HTML file to load the applet in an appletviewer of your won size.
* 23.6 (Largest and Smallest) Write an applet that reads five integers, determines which are the largest and smallest integers in the group and prints them. Draw the results on the applet. */ import java.awt.Graphics; import javax.swing.JApplet; import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
When I run this code, it is supposed to get one value from turnTimer(); and return it, just as a test. This works when I enter a valid pit. For example. If I were to input "A" when it's player one's turn, it will return 1, like it should. However, if I were to type "H" when it's player one's turn, it returns "Not a valid pit!"(like it should) but then it also returns 12. It shouldn't know that H is 12 because it's in a separate method. I'm confused as to why it's printing both values.
import java.util.*; public class Mancala { static Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); public static int pit; public static void main(String[]args) { Mancala mancala = new Mancala(); int[] board = {0,3,3,3,3,3,3,0,3,3,3,3,3,3};

I was told to create a program that prints the time between 00:00 (0:00 a.m.) and 23:45 (11:45 p.m.) in the 24-hour clock and 12-hour clock format like this:
So I'm trying to write a program that prints out the "most-repeated integer" in an Array.
For example: if an array contains {1,2,2,3} It would print out 2 as the result.This is what I got so far and according to my knowledge I think I'm correct but for some reason it doesn't work.. Please give me some inputs.
public class MostInt{ public MostInt (){ int[] array = {0}; for(int i = 0;i>array.length;i++){ if(i==i++){ System.out.println(i);
Write a program (TwoIntegers.java) that prompts the user to enter two positive integers and prints their sum (by addition), product (by multiplication), difference (by subtraction), quotient (by division), and remainder (by modulation). When the user enters 5 and 3, the output from your program should look exactly like the following:
Enter two positive integers: 5 3 The sum is 8. The product is 15. The difference is 2. The quotient is 1. The remainder is 2.
import java.util.Scanner; public class TwoIntegers { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Enter two positive integers: "); Scanner userInput = new Scanner("System.in"); int integer1 = userInput.nextInt(); int integer2 = userInput.nextInt();
Write a program that asks the user for an integer andthen prints out all its factors in increasing order. Use a class FactorGenerator with a constructor FactorGenerator(int numberToFactor) and methods nextFactor and hasMoreFactors. Supply a class FactorTester whose main methods reads a user input, constructs a FactorGenerator object and prints the factors.
Here is what I have so far for my main class and tester class
public class FactorGenerator { int factor; int number; int x; FactorGenerator(int numberToFactor) { number = numberToFactor; }
I am working on a problem where i have to create a 2d array with given input of the dimensions (odd number) of array, along with a number within the array and to then print out all of the numbers surrounding that number.
Anyway, i am working on simply making the spiral, which should look like the one below.
n = 3
7 8 9 6 1 2 5 4 3
where the 1 always starts in the center with the 2 going to the right, 3 down, then left etc. etc. I was able to create the code by starting on the outer edges rather than the center and working my way to the middle, however my code always starts from the top left and goes around to the center where it needs to start from the top right. I am having trouble altering my code to meet this criteria. This is what i have thus far.
import java.io.*; public class Spiral { public static void main(String args[])throws IOException { BufferedReader br=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); System.out.print("Enter the number of elements : "); int n=Integer.parseInt(br.readLine());
Write I program that generates a random number and asks the user to guess what the number is. If the user's guess is higher than the random number, the program should display "Too high, try again." If the user's guess is lower than the random number, the program should display "Too low, try again." The program should use a loop that repeats until the user correctly guesses the random number.
public class NumberGuess { public static void main(String[] args) { // Create a Random object. final static Random rand = new Random(); // max number is the upward bound number final int MAXNUMBER = 10; /** * Method should return a random number within the upward bound MAX_NUMBER.
[code]....
I get compiler error message
NumberGuess.java:25: error: ';' expected int getRandomNumber (); ^ NumberGuess.java:63: error: reached end of file while parsing System.out.println("You got it right in " + numberOfGuesses + " guesses."); ^
I wrote a java application that coverts number grades to letter grades. Here is what it looks like:
/java application to That corresponds the letter grade with the number grade import java.util.Scanner; //program uses the class scanner public class gradescore{
Instruction: You work for a telemarketing company and you are required to write a JAVA program that will generate a random phone number. (talk about a real-world application)
-The phone number should consist of 10 digits -The first 3 are the area code and should not begin with 0, 8 or 9 -The second 3 digits should not be greater than 742 and not less than 100. -The last 4 digits can be any digits -Print the number using the following format: "(xxx)-xxx-xxxx", this way it will look like a real phone number (use decimal formatting)

The class Overloading below asks for two names and prints three different greetings. Your task is to write the class methods missing from the class declaration. Methods print the greetings as shown in the example print.
Hint:The names and parameter types of the needed methods can be checked from the main method because all methods are called there. This exercise also does not require you to copy the source code below to the return field.
The method declarations will suffice.
Example output Type in the first name: John Type in the second name: Doe
********** Hi! ********** Hi, John ********** Hi, John and Doe **********
import java.util.Scanner; public class Overloading { public static void main(String[] args) { String firstName, secondName;
Ex. If I type 5943, the program will say mill = 5 hun = 9 ten = 4 uni = 3
get the picture I had to translate the decimal value names from a different language.
This is what I have tried...,
Java Code:
import java.util.Scanner;//Permite el uso de leer el teclado del usuario public class DeterminarValorDecimal//Nombra el documento { public static void main(String [] args)//Podemos ver la clase {
[Code].....
But what this does is I have to enter the single digits one by one. I want to be able to type the whole number. Is there a method that reads the length of the whole number and lets me classify each digit so I can do what I want to do?
I am to design a program in java that will allow a user to Input a list of your family members along with their age and state where they reside. Determine and print the average age of your family and print the names of anyone who live in Texas. I have tried but my results are wrong.
