Get User Input From JTextField And Set It To JTable
Sep 13, 2014
I need to get users input from jtextfield and set it to JTable. This is my code:
public class Projektni extends JFrame {
public final JTextField ime = new JTextField(10);
public final JTextField prezime = new JTextField(10);
public final JTextField index = new JTextField(10);
public DefaultListModel podaci = new DefaultListModel();
JButton imeB=new JButton("Upisi u tabelu");
I am trying to populate a JTable using Several JTextFeild a JComboBox and a JLabel.
The textfields are originalPrice and itemName
JComboBox is departmentComboBox
label is salePriceLable.
When hitting the button i need the program to calculate the price after discount and add the item name, department, original price, and discounted price to a table. I have the calculation down, but am lost on populating the table.I used NetBeans 8.2
/* * Program: JavaRetailCalculator * Purpose: To calculate the ammount of a discount and display results in a Table */
import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; public class CalculatorFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame { /** * Creates new form CalculatorFrame */ public CalculatorFrame() { initComponents();
I have project to get from users input like name,surname,to save to Jtable,i have table and jtextfiled but when user get input they don t save to table here is my code:
Project.zip (33.54K)
public class Projektni extends JFrame { public final JTextField ime = new JTextField(10); public final JTextField prezime = new JTextField(10); public final JTextField index = new JTextField(10); public DefaultListModel podaci = new DefaultListModel(); public JList lista = new JList(podaci); String kolone[] = {"ID","Name","Age"};
I am required to read user input to create two matrices which will eventually be added together. I am unsure as to how I can read the input from the user as an int and not a String. The input is from size 0-10 for both column and row size. Also, can you have a new button created in the actionPerformed method of a previous button?
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.util.*; public class Matrices implements ActionListener { private JFrame win1, win2, win3, win4;
I am trying to get the data entered in a JTextField into a JTable but not clear on how. The LeftPanel is where the button is located and the RightPanel is where the JTable is. I want the actionPerformed to update the row of the JTable but I can't figure out how. There is another class that controls the GUI but did not think it was necessary to include. Also, I am aware that I am getting an error at the addRow line, can't seem to alleviate it.
public class LeftPanel extends JPanel {
private static final long serialVersionUID = -2311952438693382407L; private RightPanel rPanel; public LeftPanel(){ Dimension size = getPreferredSize(); size.width = 250; setPreferredSize(size);
I am designing a advanced search option in a java project with sqlite in NetBeans. there are 5 different JTextfields and 5 columns, I want to populate JTable with corresponding matching criteria. If a JTextfield is empty then it should select all items of that column.
query i was using is: String val1=txt_billing2.getText(); //five input fields String val2=txt_station2.getText(); String val3=txt_invoice2.getText(); String val4=txt_amonth2.getText(); String val5=txt_umonth2.getText();
[code]....
but when i leave a JTextfield empty it shows no data in JTable. only method i know is to use if else conditions but that generates 5!= 120 conditions!!!
How would I display certain output text if the text entered equaled "text".
So lets say you enter a question into a JTextField. You press a button that submits the text. The output displayed depends on what the question you asked was.
Think about it as "If question = What color is the sky? On submit, display text "Blue". How to implement this.
I'm trying to get data from a GUI input window into an ArrayList and back out via a JTable. I can get the array lists to print to the console within the input class, but I need to wire it to a data container and out through a different class. Here is code from one input class, and its corresponding output class:
Input: public class AddClassroom extends JFrame implements java.awt.event.ActionListener { // UI components // are declared here...
I am having trouble taking user input and passing it to another class as a variable. If I assign the value explicitly (see line 59), it works just fine. What I want to do though, is assign the input from inputField to the variable inputVariable. I tried using:
inputVariable = inputField.getText();
This does not work. Regardless of what is typed into inputField, the output I get is just:
I have been creating a Java program to track inventory using an array. I need to add a search function to it to take a term, input through a text field, and locate a matching instance within the array. How can I code a JButton to grab test input from a JTextField and search for it within the array then display the corresponding information? I also need to add buttons to add and delete items as well.
Write a java program that will ask a user to input grades until the user inputs the sentinel value -1. The program should test each input to determine whether 0<=grade<=100. If the grade entered is within this range, the program should print "Grade accepted;" if not, the program should print "Invalid input".
I have been struggling with this program for weeks. This program is supposed to take a user's inputted odd number and then print out all prime numbers lower than that number.
public class PrimeNumber { Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); int userNum; String neg;
class Client{ public static void main(String []args){ Bike R1=new Bike(5.0, 60.0,30.0);//create bike object with params Bike R2=new Bike();//without params System.out.println(R1.increaseSpeed());//calling methods System.out.println(R1.maxDistance()); System.out.println(R2.increaseSpeed()); System.out.println(R2.maxDistance()); } }
I am developing a quotation generator application using Java. I am using a JTable to capture user input(this input is taken from a database i.e. each cell of the tale will have a combobox where the user can select an input value). when the user is done he/she has to print the quotation as A4 page.
My issue is: Is there a way of doing it besides using the JTable?
I have a textField in which I have text in. The text is enter customer name. I would like for this text to disappear whenever the user clicks on the textField to enter a customer name. I am using the automated swing gui builder in NetBeans. Is their some sort of feature for this under properties of the text field? If not then what are my other options?
I have a JTable with 5 columns, named: "ID", "Name", "UnitPrice", "Qty", and "Total". Only the columns UnitPrice and Qty are editable by the user. When, for example, for a row in the JTable, the user types 5000 in the UnitPrice column, and types 15 in the Qty column, I would want that when he types the first character in the Qty column (i.e. the character 1) in the Qty column, the Total column displays 5000*1, in other terms 5000.
And when the user types the second character in the Qty column, i.e the character 5, after having typed 1, the Total column should display 5000*15, in other terms 75000. So, to say it concisely, I would want that the Total column refreshes accordingly each time the user types a character in the Qty column. I have tried to use the MouseClicked event of the JTable, but noticed that that does not solve my problem. is there an event I should use to refresh my Total column? Or should I proceed in another fashion?
I have been coding in my class at school (Grade 11 Computer science) and i just downloaded the program on my computer at home, unfortunately i cannot access my computer notes at home and i also dont remember certian specifics of coding, so my question is how would i get user input to create a program. The comments are the parts i dont remember. (I am trying to slowly build my memory with this stuff)
Here is my code so far:
import java.util; [highlight=java] public class hello_world { public static void main(String[] args) { string name; //WHAT DO I PUT HERE????
I'm working on creating a dice game and getting the users input is giving me a really hard time. I have the main game working but this part I'm stuck on. The problem is that it's not giving me the chance to enter the second input when I ask for the game.
//Create Scanner object Scanner keys = new Scanner(System.in); //Get chips
[Code]....
*****This is what I get when I run it
run:
How much money would you like to change? 50
You now have $50 in chips.
What game do you want to play? You did not pick dice.
I have been given a piece of work to do for College that requires me to format user input. For example: This is an example of text that will have straight left and right margins after formatting
The user inputs the width, in the case above being 20. Each line has to therefore be 20 characters long. All spaces are to be replaced with full stops.
This.is.an.example.o f.text.that.will.hav e.straight.left.and. right.margins.after. formatting.......... public class Main { public static void main ( String args[])
ArrayList<Integer> leftCU = new ArrayList<>(); { System.out.println ("Please enter one at a time the number of CU's for each class that is left to complete. Enter Q when done."); leftCU.add(in.nextInt());
