I usually code in PHP, C++ and ActionScript.I'm trying to follow an example of how to add images to a full screen application. What he does is that he adds a JPG background image, and then 4 PNG images. I tried to do it like I always do, by writing the code by myself looking at the book. It didn't work. I searched for errors in the code, changed some things, tried different things, but it didn't work. Then I tried to use his own code, that I downloaded from his website. That didn't work either.. I tried to find another way to add an image, and I can't seem to figure out a way to implement images in any other way into this class that's written in this book.. My Java programming level isn't just high enough.
Here's the code for the file where the images load, downloaded from the authors website (I've modified the brackets and some spaces so that it becomes easier to read):
Java Code:
import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; import javax.swing.JFrame; public class ImageTest extends JFrame { public static void main(String[] args) { DisplayMode displayMode;
All I want to do is load an image into a swing JLabel and display it, but I'm going to have to make a JAR of the program and submit it for grading, so I need to be able to get the path of the image file relative to the JAR (at least I think that's how it works - I've never made a JAR before. Right now I'm just trying to load it from a path relative to my netbeans project). I've tried at least 20 different combinations of paths, file locations within the project, etc., but nothing works.
Anyways, here's the test class I've been using to try to figure this out in its current iteration. Right now the image I want to load is in src/resources and the class is in
src/imagedisplaytest package imagedisplaytest; import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; public class ImageDisplayTest extends JFrame { private JLabel testLabel; public ImageDisplayTest()
I want to use the bit of code below to re-write the page to tell the user of a successful registration and then redirect them to another page. My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the path right for the login page. As can see, my first choice was to have the use click to the login page and when I use href it works fine.
I tried to use the entire file page starting at C and that didn't work. I also tried
${pageContext.request.contextPath}/Login
which is what I had to do for the action in the form for the login servlet page.
My question is what is the URL I need to use. By the way, if I jut put in google's URL, or any other for that matter, it works fine.
I've searched everywhere but found no way to disable loading of images by Java WebEngineHow to do it?
Research done:
I found some ideas, such as using URL.setURLStreamHandlerFactory() to use my own URLStreamHandler, and having that analyze the URL to only return URLConnections for URL's that don't end in .jpg .png etc.
But that has many problems: Sometimes the image url doesn't end in .jpg, if it's a dynamic image, such as a captcha. So how can I disable automatic image loading from WebEngine?
I'm working on loading SVG images on Jpanel using "Apache(tm) Batik SVG Toolkit" , but after the image get loaded it has "white background" and "not transparent" one like PNG images.
I checked "fill" of rect attribute on the xml file of the svg image and it was correctly set to none, I also Tested the image on html document and it was trasparent, but in my java app it has white background.
The Question is there any way to load SVG images with transparent background on Jpanel ?
I'm using a PrimeFaces UploadedFile xhtml page to select a csv file to read and write using a managed bean (SuperCSVParser.java). The file is read and written to an entity class which then persists the data to a database. The application works fine if I specify a file path on the physical server and select a csv file on that file path. But for the production version I want the user to select ANY file name from ANY directory on their local system.
I know about the FacesContext methods and I've looked at some methods from the java.io File class. Most of these methods are about getting the path from the server, where I want to 'pass' the path String from the client machine to allow the uploaded file to go through. When I try with the below code I get:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: data.csv (The system cannot find the file specified)
I'd like to know what I'm doing as I prefer not to explicitly declare a path in the final app. I'm almost sure that's possible.
I'm developing a JavaEE system with several applications on a Weblogic AS (10.3.5) using Eclipse indigo with OEPE plugin. I turned my computer off, turned it back on, started the eclipse, and all of a sudden I get class-path errors all over the place (didn't change a thing).
Now let me get this straight:
1. Say I have an application with one EAR project that contains an EJB project and an EJBClient project (both in the deployment assembly). 2. I have written a new regular Java project, and I want to use it in both the EJB and EJBClient projects (it needs to be visible to them). 3. As far as I know, I can simply add this Java project to the EAR project's deployment assembly, and it will be visible to the EJB and EJBClient projects. 4. This has been working for me so far, but now I get class-path errors and I have to add this Java project to the build path of each project.
How should I set the class-path when using JavaEE technology in Eclipse?
I am copying the xml files from one folder to other folder, in the source folder, i have some files which have some content like "backing File="$IDP_ ROOT/metadata/iPAU-SP-metadata.xml" but while writing to the destination folder.i am replacing the "$IDP_ROOT" with my current working directory. The entire copying of files is for deploying into tomcat server. The copying is done only when server starts for the first time.Problem: If i change the folder name from my root path in my machine after i run the server,the entire process will be stopped because the destination folder files already contains the content which is with existed files names or folder names.
So i want to change it to relative path instead absolute path. What is the best way to do it? Please look at code below:
[ // Getting the current working directory String currentdir = new File(".").getAbsoluteFile().getParent() + File.separator;
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.ImageIcon.<init>(ImageIcon.java:205) at GUI.<init>(GUI.java:26) at Apples.main(Apples.java:7)
i think the problem is to do with my images not being recognised. I put them in my source in User>...>workspace>src which is correct as far as i know. From what i know the images should show up if i look at my src file in eclipse but they dont. I tried changing the file type from .png to .jpg but it makes no difference.
I'm at the Image part of this chapter and I wrote/copied these 2 classes:
[URL]
The error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.ImageIcon.<init>(Unknown Source) at image.Board.<init>(Board.java:17) at image.Image.<init>(Image.java:10) at image.Image.main(Image.java:20)
I'm fairly certain the problem is the path in this piece of code:
ImageIcon ii = new ImageIcon(this.getClass().getResource("C:GebruikersKristofferworkspaceImagessrcimageNature.jpeg"));
I've done some research and found that I should place the image in the same folder as my .java files, which I did [URL] but the problem still persists.
I am trying to compare a ImageIcon in a button against another. The method which has the issue is checkMatrixValues() third from the bottom of this post. I did my best to make this post flow as I am looking at the issue, hope it is not confusing.
the view class creates a matrix of Mybuttons and Mybuttons extends JButton. I did this because I need Mybuttons to have fields within each button.
public class View extends Mybuttons{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; JFrame frame; JPanel matrixPanel, optionsPanel; Mybuttons[][] matrixBtn;
[Code]...
MyButtons has a few values and methods in it but here is a peek at the fields. This post is concentrating on ImageIcon greenIcon and ImageIcon redIcon.
public class Mybuttons extends JButton { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; Boolean barrier,startNode,targetNode,visited; public ImageIcon greenIcon = new ImageIcon("green.png"); public ImageIcon redIcon = new ImageIcon("red.png"); private ImageIcon yellowIcon = new ImageIcon("yellow.png"); private ImageIcon resetIcon = new ImageIcon("null"); public int counter;
In the controller class one method checks to make sure there is one start and one end point by calling checkMartixValues when the enter button is pressed: (FYI greenIcon is start and redIcon is end)
if(e.getSource()==view.enterBtn){ for(int i=0;i<25;i++){ for(int j=0;j<25;j++){ //Validates matrix to see if there are more then one //red or green button pressed checkMartixValues(view.matrixBtn[i][j]);
[Code]...
When I do the following:
if(matrixBtn.getIcon()==view.matrixBtn.redIcon)
It runs but jumps to the else statement. Again it is saying redIcon is not a field yet I am able to access other fields from view.matrixBtn. I even tried:
if(matrixBtn.getIcon()==buttons.redIcon) //compiles but will skip to else statement too //remember the above if statement is in the same controller class which declares public class Controller { /*The view class holds the GUI and creates a matrix of MyButtons. *Each of MyButtons will be treated as a node in the Controller Class *Consider MyButtons as the Model in the MVC design * */ View view; Mybuttons buttons;
I have been assigned with a task to have a class which has the methods setImage and getImage. These methods are meant to set the ImageIcon by using the url taken from another class and the getImage method is meant to return the ImageIcon that was set before hand. The problem is that i'm not really familiar with ImageIcon so the code in both my methods is giving out errors and i just can't figure out why. Heres the code in the class that has the setImage and getImage methods:
public class Die implements DieInterface { private ImageIcon [] image = new ImageIcon[6]; //the number of images that would be stored in this array is 6 (six faces of the dice) ublic Die() { //This puts images into the images array(the different die faces) image = new ImageIcon[6];
[code]....
And this is where i call the methods (set and get methods) in the other class:
I am trying to do a program about a contact agenda, now, I have one JPanel that contains three sub panels (GridLayout(1,3)) where I have in the left the picture of the Contact, the middle one is not important, but the right one contains 4 JTextFields with information of the contact and one JCheckBox that indicates if the contact is a favorite or not. The thing is that I am only able to show the first contact, but I want to be able to scroll between the contacts with a Button that I have in another panel. I think I am actually scrolling among the contacts, but the panel with the information from the contact is not updating the information...
public class PanelInfoContacto extends JPanel{
// ----------------------------------------------------------------- // Constructores // ----------------------------------------------------------------- /** * Construye el panel. <br/> * @param contacto - es una referencia al contacto que muestra. contacto != null. */ public PanelInfoContacto(Contacto contacto){ setLayout(new GridLayout(1,3));
I'm doing a software Java GUI - JFrame form like this:
1. The user wants to click on a button that opens a bunch of images that will be displayed as thumbnail in the bottom of the JFrame . 2. Then the user wants to select/click one of the thumbnail and make appear the corresponding image in it's original size on above(center) of the JFrame.
For doing this I used 3 JPanel.
One contains a JButton that opens the jfilechoser dialog window, the second "panelPreview" is for putting the thumbnails created, and the third "panelGrande" is for the image in it's original size.
The firs part "1." is ok.
But in the second part : I got one error when I want to put the ImageIcon in to the JLabel with the further intent of displaying it.
lblBig(imgIcoVett[i]);
In this project I'm dealing with arrays of ImageIcons and JLabels, so it's a bit advanced level for me, so I'm not sure that I wrote right the part of the MouseListener too.
The error displayed by netbeans says "cannot find symbol symbol: method lbl (ImageIcon) local variables referenced from an inner class must be final or effectively final"
Here I attach the project I did with netbeans"AAAD Unlayout 2.zip", but if you just need the highlight of the code, here it is too:
how I can change my code so that somebody can actually input the specified file path, rather than having it fixed in the code. I previously used
Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("What is the filename?"); String input = in.nextLine(); File file = new File(input);
But then the program would not display the frequencies.
import java.io.File; import java.util.*; /* This program will allow the user to enter in a text file name, when prompted the program will anaylser the text and display the frequencies */ public class AssP { public static void main(String[] args ) { Scanner scan; try { Scanner scanner = scan = new Scanner(new File("C:/Users/Mary/workspace/Assingment/src/test.txt"));
[code]....
This is my current code and I need to so the user can load their own files.
I have added the image in the src and bin directories and cross-checked that the name of the image file is correct..Here is the main class
import javax.swing.*; public class apples { public static void main(String args[]) { JFrame frame = new JFrame(); MyDrawPanel wid = new MyDrawPanel(); frame.add(wid); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); frame.setSize(300,300); } }
and here is the class that does the image adding part
import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*;
public class MyDrawPanel extends JPanel { public void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
Image image = new ImageIcon("b.png").getImage(); g.drawImage(image,20, 20, this); } }
So I would like to get information out of a web-API. But my question is how I do this. I guess I need to read the URL first. And parse it after but what is the best way?
We are using an applet in our web application. The applet of our application is dependent on bouncycastle jar,bcprov-jdk15.jar and few other jar's whose size comes around 4 mb. When using the appliaction on jre7, the applet is taking too long time to load than usual time. Is there any way to place these jar's in client machine? Will it improve the performance? Is there any other way to reduce the loading time of applet apart from placing jars in client machine?
How load dynamically load jars? Is it possible to load updated jar in my application by code? My application has to use new and modified class files but application should not be restarted.
I have an assignment where I need to add an interface to an already-created program. I have an array of objects, where each object has a name, price, and priority.
In my original program (which worked), I had all of the objects in 1 class. The professor said that I should split up the name/price/priority into 3 different classes. So what I have is an array that belongs to an interface, and name/price/priority implements. But I am having trouble loading the data into the array (from another class) once I am done with loading name.
Here is what I have so far.
public class Main { public static void main (String[] args){ Interface[] arr = new Interface[7]; Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println
[code]....
Line 18 in the ItemName class is giving me an error, and I know it is because arr is of type Interface, and I am trying to assign is a String. But I don't know how to do this. In my original program I was able to do arr[x].getName(); but when I do that in Main, I get errors.
how to assign to an interface array from multiple classes.
