i have made a phone directory and i have also maintained a database for this. i want on clicking the next button each row from database table display one by one on the GUI into their relevant text Fields. i have written this code , this code show the last row of the table on single click on next button. i want one by one row on each next button click.
I have started coding recently and been working on a simple java timer. My problem is that the button does not show any response even though an action has been done via actionlistener.
Example: When I press the "Start Timing" button, it should start timing and output the counter to Static Timer but instead of doing that, it does nothing.
The important bits are under Timer code and Button Start Timing. Is their something that I'm missing?
//--- All imports have been handled --- public class GUI { double counter = 1; double inputA = 1; int delay = 1000; Timer timer = new Timer(delay, null);
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class menu { public static void main (String[] args){ JFrame frame = new JFrame("Menu"); frame.setVisible (true);
How can i add a background image for this code without disappearing the button and label? I want a frame that has a background and still shows the buttons and label that I place. and how can I insert Buffered Reader in this code, this is a file organizer, but it only shows first line of a text file. I want to show the whole text file. And is it possible to also show path of the file?
i've spend an hour or two, pasting fragments from tutorials and nothing changed.
Well - i have GUI, that have JComboBox with two elements: String[] fedoras = { "Fedora 19", "Fedora 20" }; JComboBox fedora_list = new JComboBox(fedoras); fedora_list.setSelectedIndex(0); fedora_list.setBounds(120,170, 170,25); fedora_list.addActionListener(this); this.add(fedora_list);
Below i have normal button (named Update) with "update" set as ActionCommand. This button after clicked should check which value from list is selected and perform different operations for that elements. But it's harder than i thought.
Code for update button:
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){ String cmd = e.getActionCommand(); (...) else if ("update".equals(cmd)){ String selectedFedora = (String) fedora_list.getSelectedItem(); if (selectedFedora.equals("Fedora 19")) {
[code]....
- after user clicked Update button, button should check which value is selected in JComboBox (fedora_list). - if Fedora 19 is selected and button clicked, then action in Xterm - if Fedora 20 is selected, this same action in Xterm is performed, but for Fedora Linux 20
The problem is - i don't know hot to code Update button to check which value from fedora_list (JComboBox) is selected and perform other actions for every element on List.
I want to develop a Java program that uses OpenScript APIs to test my applications. The OpenScript framework automatically creates the Java Code so I was thinking of either using this code or create my own using the APIs.
I tried both options using NetBeans but I'm getting errors everywhere starting with the library import. I'm pretty new to Java so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of things here. I pasted the code below from the OpenScript framework that want to use in a stand-alone file for your reference.,
The gist of it is to create a very basic memory game. There are 12 buttons, each associated with an icon. Every button that you click will display the icon and will stay there until clicked again. I got the bulk of it taken care of, but my issue lies with switching the icons back and forth. I can get them to display one at a time, but when I click on a new button, all the icons except the button I just clicked don't display. Essentially, only one shows up at a time.
I am using JS, how we can make focus to a button during onload, the button need to get focus which is in tabbedPane tab Name : (Search Critera1) using javascript.
I have a textbox called "answer" and 10 different buttons on a form. Now what i would like to do is click the button and have the Button Text in the textbox with the already present text.
So if i click the button 1 it should automatically recognize the clicked button and have its text copied to textbox.
I know the '.get' method but lets say i have 100 buttons so i cant repeat it for every single one of them.
as there is a button on the website, that I need to click, but it returns a number using javascript that will access the page. Without that number, accessing the page won't work. Therefore, either I need to click the button, or return that data when I access the url. Here is the line in the html.
I have a JButton with a .PNG icon on it. I want to get that button click in actionPerformed Method but Jbutton have no Label... How i will know that which button clicked?
Nearly all of hte sample Java Applet is pre-made by the teacher. I'm running into the issue where, if I use the string arithmetic inverse method provided by the textbook, it refuses to recognize variables such as s1, s2, and i. So I'm now trying to use stringbuilder, and running into a similar issue. It doesn't recognize hte symbol "buffer". Under the "else if ( e.getSource() == inverseStr ) {" is where my code starts. The "Your Code Here" was put there by the teacher, and I'm just using it as an easy way to create blank lines if I delete a method that isn't working for me in the above section.
import javax.swing. * ; import java.awt. * ; import java.awt.event. * ; public class HW07 extends JApplet { public void init() { setSize( 400, 300 ); add( new MyGUI() );
[code]....
When I launch the applet in TextPad, there will be an Inverse button, and when I click that, it should reverse the word provided in the applet window, and show it in the inverse there. I had the StringBuilder working once, but it showed its result in a separate command prompt.
Code: package button; import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class Actions extends JFrame implements ActionListener { JPanel pnl = new JPanel();

I am developing a JavaFX application under Java 8 on my Ubuntu 14.04 (32 bit) system. When I run it on the Ubuntu box, all is fine, but when I run it under Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) with the same Java8 release installed, all my buttons have their text ellipsised (sp?). Why the behavior is different? Or is this a bug in JavaFX? Here are the particulars:
I am developing my first Java application and the database I use is MySQL. I have created two separate buttons; one to insert new data into my database and the other to update the database when changes are made.
Each button is working perfectly, but I now want to combine both functions into just the save button. Thus, whether I am entering new data or modifying existing data, the save button should use an IF ELSE condition to decide whether to use the INSERT or UPDATE command.
My problem is, how do I write this IF ELSE statement? What should be the condition? For example;
IF(what? ){ String sql ="Insert into Table1 (classID,className,counselorID,startDate,endDate) values (?,?,?,?,?)"; }ELSE{ String sql2 = "update Table1 set classID = '"+value1+"',className='"+value2+"',counselorID='"+value3+"',startDate='"+value4+"',endDate='"+value5+"' where classID = '"+value1+"'"; }
I am newbie in java and little bit known to apex. I write an java code and compile it to class file. Now i want to call that class file from an push of button on apex. I am creating a mad libs type program. This section of code is for the user to be able to make their own mad lib template (that people will be able to fill out later). The normal blanks in a mad lib are for verb, noun, adjective, adverb, etc. I cam up with 13 or so of these buttons, but it would be nice that if the user wants to add a button that they think we missed, such as 'Person in the Room' or 'Silly Location'...that the user would be able to do this. I sort of pictured there being a button that says 'add button' or something like that. Is there a ways to do this with the way I've set things up?
public class MadLibs { public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { //////////////////// //TEXT PANE WINDOW// //////////////////// //Set up a JTextPane object : The JTextPane is a specialized form of the JEditorPane //designed especially for the editing (and display) of styled text. final JTextPane pane = new JTextPane();
you will be making four variables (2 primitive integers and 2 Account Objects). You will be following the steps detailed below. The challenge is to understand exactly what is happening and why. Start by coding the following two methods in a java file.
Static methods: This method can be called whatever you want, however it will be public, static, and void. This method should take in four parameters: w and x which will be integers, then y and z which will be Account Objects.The first thing this method should do is to print out the four variables w, x, y, and z. This should be done in the same manner as you did in the main method. Next, change the first variable (w) to 15. After that, ted bought a new car. He now has only $20,000 in his account. Change the balance of y to be 20,000. Step three is to make a new Account Object named John, he has a balance of $10,000. Assign him to the variable z. Lastly, print all four variables again: w, x, y, and z.
We recently upgraded to JDK 8. Since then, a section of code in a jsp file breaks. The code is this:
ArrayList all = new ArrayList(); final List tsd = timeSeriesBean.getTSData(); all.addAll(tsd); Collections.sort(all, new Comparator() { public int compare(Object o1, Object o2) { TSData t1 = (TSData)o1, t2 = (TSData)o2; int res = t2.getDate().compareTo(t1.getDate());
[code]....
The error message is this:
An error occurred at line: 65 in the jsp file: /TS/VerifyImportTSData.jsp The type new Comparator(){} must implement the inherited abstract method Comparator.thenComparing(Function, Comparator)
64: 65: Collections.sort(all, new Comparator() { 66: public int compare(Object o1, Object o2) { 67: TSData t1 = (TSData)o1, t2 = (TSData)o2; 68: int res = t2.getDate().compareTo(t1.getDate());
just trying to maintain some old java code that I can support until it is rewritten.
i want to use cucumber in java through code. previously i have used it with Junit. but now i need to implement it through coding for the purpose of automating.
