Load Some Information From Previous Object Files And Add New Objects To Them Afterwards
Dec 17, 2014
I have a project in java that asks me to load some information from previous object files and add new objects to them afterwards. I created the files, but when I close the program and search for the previous information that should've been saved in the object file , it return nothing.
Here is the code.
Add method:
public boolean addUser (User u){
users[Ucount]=u;
Ucount++;
return true;
}
The save method:
public void saveUser (){
try{
FileOutputStream FOS = new FileOutputStream("User.txt", true);
ObjectOutputStream OOS = new ObjectOutputStream (FOS);
[Code] ....
The read method:
public void readUser (){
try{
FileInputStream FIS = new FileInputStream ("User.txt");
ObjectInputStream OIS = new ObjectInputStream (FIS);
for (int i=0;i<Ucount;i++){
[Code] ....
*Note: When I open the object file I could see that the information are actually there, so I think there's a problem with the read method I'm not sure what it is.
I have to implement a system where I have to do almost same processing on a jsp page. The slight differences on the present page is based on whether the current page came from page 1 or page 2. So how can I do this?
I am having trouble with a mouse click method. In short I have a hexagon grid, and every time I want to click on one particular hexagon I want the color of the hexagon to change to blue(by default the color is grey). This part works, but when I go to click on another hexagon I want the color of the previous hexagon to change back to grey while at the same time changing the color of the current hexagon clicked to blue. So in other words, I only want one hexagon blue at a time. How might I do this?
I have a hexagon class for one particular hexagon, and a hexmap class for multiple hexagons. I know I should probably be handling mouse clicks in the hexmap since it deals with the whole thing. But I cannot say something like hexagon.setColor within a mouselistener in that class(it gives me a lot of issues). Here is some of my code :
public class Hexagons() public Hexagons(HexMap theMap, int mapRow, int mapCol, int width, int height) { this.map = theMap; this.row = mapRow; this.col = mapCol; this.width = width; this.height = height;
I'm trying to create contact information as object and another object as parcel then calculate the shipping fee. Problem is I don't have a good understanding in implementing object type to my code. Attached are what I've done and I know that my constructor in my parcel class and contact class are probably wrong too but I don't know what to do with it.
//contact class public class Contact { private String Name; private String Address; private String City; private String State; private double Xco; private double Yco;
I'm making a program that displays information for "employee" objects of different types. This works with a hierarchy that goes Person→ Employee→ Fulltime/Adjunct, and a driver that tests the inheritance. The Person class is given and only supplies the name, the employee class manages the year hired and the ID, and the types of employee classes manage the salaries.
One object (called staff[2]) is supposed to first be printed with default information and then later updated via set methods. I figured out how to update the name, but I don't know how to update the rest of the information because the employee's name is managed in the Person class and the reset of the information is managed in the less-general classes, and the objects are all in an array of Person.
How do I call the set methods necessary to update more of staff[2]?Output (scroll to see the updating section)
The current year is 2012
Name: Flintstone, Fred ID Num: BR-1 Year Hired: 2005 Years Of Service: 7 Salary: 65000.12 Fulltime Type Employee
I have a program I am creating in Eclipse. In my JFrame window, I am adding a JList object that I want to load with an EnumMap that I have created in a separate 'enum' class.
In my JFrame, I have a method called 'loadJList()' in which I want to iterate through the EnumMap and load the keys & values.
Here's what I've tried
In my EnumMap class, I've done the following ...
Java Code:
public enum MyEnumMap { .....//created map values & keys, getter() and setter() public Enum<MyEnumMap> getEnum() { return this; } } mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
I imported my EnumMap program in my JFrame program and tried something like ...
Which does not work. I've scoured the internet a bit but sources on EnumMap are limited, at least ones I can understand (first time trying to use this).
I also need to elaborate on the key of the EnumMap (they are cities, I'd like to add the state or country). For example
LASVEGAS, 749.99
I would want displayed as
Las Vegas, Nevada .... 749.99
My ultimate goal here is to access my EnumMap in my JFrame program to dynamically load a JList object.
We need to process (read and parse) big xml files (500 Mo to 1 or 2 Go). What's the best framework or Java library to use for this requirement ? Then what's a good OXM (in this case xml to object mapping) solution for this kind of file ?
I've been trying to write a program for some time now, but im encountering problems while trying to complete it. The program has a student class and a course class (set up with some info about the class, like #, professor name, course title, course time). Now, i have a text file in the workspace, and i have to import the data from the textfile, and thats just what i did, but then there is an option which allows the user to delete a course only by inputing the course number, and when he does that, the program outputs the course's name, and confirms the deletion of the course (From the student's record, i created a vector for that and imported all the courses from the text file). But how can i let the program know what's the name of the course when the user inputs the course number ???
When the data is read from the file, objects should be created and added to the student's course record. <- i think here's where i messed up ? i imported the data, but how can i actually make them objects before adding them into the vector ?
PHP Code:
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); Vector Record = new Vector(); try {FileReader filereader = new FileReader("CLASSES.txt"); BufferedReader bufferedreader = new BufferedReader(filereader); String test = ""; while(test != null) { Record.addElement(test); test = bufferedreader.readLine(); } mh_sh_highlight_all('php');
I am trying to build a method that takes an array of object and adds a new object of that type to the end of it . ONLY ALLOWED TO USE ARRAY , NO ARRAYLISTS VECTORS ECT . i realize that if the array is full you can use the java copy array method to make a new array and double its size until a certain point . The MAX AMOUNT OF OBJECTS is a constant that is 100 but for some reason even when executing my code i keep getting null pointer exceptions or index out of bounds errors , i have written this method many times now with out any success.
My question is how do I write a method that adds an object to the end of an array and if there are no spots left copies the current array into a new array and extend the size
private Animal [] objects; final int MAX_ANIMALS = 100; public AnimalObject() { objects = new AnimalObject[MAX_ANIMALS]; } public AnimalObject(Animal[]a)
This is what I have to create : Write a method that returns the largest object in an array of objects. The method signature is:
public static Object max(java.lang.Comparable[] a)
All the objects are instances of the java.lang.Comparable interface. The order of the objects in the array is determined using the compareTo method.
Write a test program in the main method that creates an array of ten Strings, an array of ten Integers, and an array of ten java.util.Dates, and finds the largest string (i.e. in the alphabetical order), Integer, and Date in the arrays.
Name your java class Max and your java file Max.java.
I am struggling a bit with this code as I am sure you can see, and am at loss. I have never used the compareTo method. Am I doing this right, or on the right track with my code?
public class Max implements Comparable { public static Object max(java.lang.Comparable[] a) { java.lang.Comparable tempObj = null; for (int i = 0; i < a.length; i++) { if (a[i].compareTo(tempObj) > 0)
I have to read in a file that that has Student, Employee, Faculty....such as name, last name, salary...etc
Example of a file input Java Code: Student, John, Doe, [email]johnDoe[At]yahoo.com[/email], 123,Wonderland Ave, 21323,TX PhoneNumber,Cell,111,222,3333 Student, Jesus,Satan,[email]jesus[At]satan.com[/email,666, HeavenHell Dr., 666666,CA PhoneNumber,Work,111,333,5555 mh_sh_highlight_all('java'); Java Code: while(input.hasNext()){
[code]...
There is more code, but it's repetitive. Now, I keep getting an error. Array of bounds. I believe i get the error because the phone number. The phone number is on the next line..I created a different arraylist for phonenumber, but I dont know how to match it with the correct person, student, employee...etc.
Say I have two classes, Author and Book, and I have 2 author objects and 10 book objects. I would like to know how to do two things:
1) Make some sort of connection that makes clear that author X wrote books A, B and F. 2) Call a method from a book object that is connected to an author.
Seeing as I don't know which books will be connected to an author, is there some way to call a method of an object bases on a variable object name? Something like call the getFirstPage() method for every book that is linked to author X?
I have my code in 3 different files using encapsulation (Data hiding) and i have 1 problem at the very end of my code in my if and else statement (very bottom) when trying to call the classes from the other 2 documents. I will put the code in 1st document to 3rd document.
// FIRST DOCUMENT public class CollegeCourse { //class name //variables String deptName; int courseNum; int credits = 3; double fee;
[Code] ....
UPDATE: error message is
UseCourse.java:24: error: cannot find symbol LabCourse lc = new LabCourse(department, course, Credits); ^ symbol: variable department location: class UseCourse UseCourse.java:24: error: cannot find symbol LabCourse lc = new LabCourse(department, course, Credits);
This program is basically complete. It compiles and runs. It is a college course assignment that I pretty much completed but for the last part in which I'm suppose to change the values of all fields and display the modified values using a toString method. Modifying the values of the fields is where I am stuck. I don't think I need to create a new text data file to do this. The instructor only asked that all the values of fields be changed and this was the last part of the assignment so I don't think it involves creating additional ObjectOutputStream and ObjectInputStream objects. I'm getting a NullPointerException error on line 161.Here is the code. I'm also including the input data file.
//create program so that objects of class can be serialized, implements interface Serialiable //create constructor with 4 parameters with accompanying get and set methods, Override toString method //create text file with 5 records, create Scanner object,ObjectOutputStream, and ObjectInputStream //create new ItemRecord object, change values of all fields in ItemRecord object using object's set methods //modify ItemRecord object using toString method
[hightlight =Java]import java.io.Serializable; public class ItemRecord implements Serializable

Here is the data file: A100 99.99 10 Canon PowerShot-135 A200 149.99 50 Panasonic-Lumix T55 A300 349.99 20 Nikon- D3200 DSRL A400 280.99 30 Sony- DSC-W800 A500 97.99 20 Samsung- WB35F
Here is the data file for the modified field values. B100 98.00 10 ABC1010 B200 97.00 15 DEF1020 B300 96.00 10 GHI1030 B400 95.00 05 JKL1040 B500 94.00 01 MNO1050
I have gotten the code up and running, now I am trying to add a previous button. The next button I have now works fine but I can't seem to get the previous button to work.
Suppose i have a book class and bookArray class.in book class contains four fields name,id ,publisher and author. in bookArray class: book bookArray=new book[20]; i have to save those four fields in the array but after completed the array i should have re-size the array with contains the previous data. How?? I have pass those values from the main class..
The above code works great and displays date picker with next and previous button but when I use same code on a jsp page the buttons to go back to previous and next month does not show up.
I am trying to get items to display that would display in a command prompt now into a GUI. I am freaking lost at the moment, probably because I've been staring at this code for over a week now. I have included all the files that are necessary to run the program as an attachment for your own testing purposes. Should I be using a TextField to display the data from the CSV files? How do I get the data to be displayed? How would I get it to be displayed based on the different files Staples (newSTPL.csv), Apple (newAPPL.csv), and Microsoft (newMSFT.csv)?
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; /** * DataAnalyzer Class * This class instantiates the methods from the ReadFiles Class and Calculations Class.
I am making a quiz app and stuck with this problem. User is presented with question with options he select one radio button and move on to next question by clicking next button.
Now when user clicks on the previous button to change the previous selction , I want his previous selection to be shown selected. How can I do that.
I have jFrame where I have to display data from database on button click. There are 4 buttons, first to display the first record in database, last to display the last record in database, next to display the next record and previous to display the previous record. I have done first and last record but what should I do to display the next and previous record.
I'm developing a Swing application for the first time. To test my application, I have currently hardcoded some text labels and fields in a JPanel, so that a user can enter input details for a maximum of 3 segments. But this limits the maximum number of segments to 3. However, the requirement is that when the user enters the number of segments (could be greater than 3 as well), corresponding number of input sets need to be taken.
Screenshot attached, with values entered.
Basically I want to know how I should go about taking the inputs from the user.
