if i send messages as in the code below, is there a way to read only one message, if the client doesn't know how long it is (or if he only knows the maximum length)?in the documentation it says, that the method read(byte[]) reads until no data ist available or end of file is decteted. What does the latter mean? Can i extend the array that i sent by a byte that signals the end? Here is my Code:

Both are startet in seperate threads. At the moment the first output of the client is "12 bytes read", and then continously "-1 bytes read"(because the server closes).
I am new to the JMS technology. I have written one sample sender and receiver program to pass a string message to the JMS queue and retrieve it back. It is working fine as well. But now, I want to pass a xml file to the JMS queue. Then from there I need to read the XML file and convert it into a Java object Using Jaxb. I've just recently started playing around with network programming in Java, and I've come up with a simplistic server than can handle multiple clients and return the IP and port each one is connected to (or I'm under the impression that is so). What I've been requested to do as an exercise by one of the programming teachers at my high school (I'm not in a class, this is my own time) is send a message from one client to the other through the ServerSocket so that it may "watch" everything going on. I'm not sure how to go about this at all.
EDIT : now it never seems to go the the else or else if statements...
That is now the main problem. It never, ever, goes past the first if statement, no matter what it is.
EDIT : Okay, I haven't changed a line of code but suddenly not a single if statement is working. They just stopped. The client simply hangs and I can't type anything.

I am implementing a SSO using NTLM. The steps are:
Step1: Cliente ask for resource
Step2: Server ask for NTLM negotiation
Step 3: Client sends to the server NTLM type 1 message
Step4: Server sends back to the client NTLM type 2 message
Step5: Client sends type 3 message.
The problem I have is in Step 5, when the browser receives the type 2 message, it just stops displaying "IE cannot display the webpage" and sends nothing to the server.
I have checked that I am sending a correctly the type 2 message, using a sniffer I can see the NTLM type 2 message (challenge) and it is well formed (I have test also different flags configuration). I have test also with Firefox and the same behaviour. Server and client are in the same Domain.
I am creating a JSF 2.0 project, and I am facing a problem when using the rich:pickList (richfaces 4) component with a custom converter.
I can populate the picklist left column rightly. But, when I move some item from left list to the right (by clicking in the pickList "add" button) and I try to submit the form that contains the pickList, I receive the following error message:

I have already overridden the methods equals and hashCode in my model class (Pessoas.java), but the problem remains.
I have an assignment, similar to ones of seen in the past. The assignment is to take a users text input and to encrypt it using 3 different types of encryptions: Caesar, Transpose, and Reverser. The professor gave us the bulk of the code, and more specifically how to tokenize and shift the letters using Caeser shift. The problem im coming across is that it is not showing anything past the users input. After running it, it just stays there running without showing anything.

The constants have their own separate class, and they appear to work fine. I know that the Transpose and Reverser are incomplete, hence them commented out. But if i cant finish with Caeser first, it wont work at all.
