I'm new to java and trying to learn the ropes on Netbeans!What I want to do is make a class which does the following
-Asks for and reads a first number on the command line.
-Asks for and reads a second number using a JOptionPane
-Asks for and reads your name using a JOptionPane
I want it to output the name and the remainder of the first number divided by the second number.
Create a Java Application in NetBeans with the following two classes.
1. A Java class College o Use the following data fields: College Name College City Number of Tracks Number of Students Number of Faculty Number of Staff o Implement an empty constructor o Implement a full constructor o Implement Setters and Getters (Mutators and Accessors) o Implement SetAll() method with all data members as parameters

I need to create a grocery store calculator in Netbeans GUI. It should function as follows:
1. Click "Checkout" 2. Enter item price screen pops up. 3. Input item price, and store price in Item price, subtotal and display in those text fields. Also store item number in number of items and display in text field, all after you click "Ok". 4. Enter item price screen should automatically pop back up. (Loop) 5. Once you are finished with all items, when you click "Ok" or "Cancel" with nothing in the text field. It should calculate sales tax/ total sale and display both. 6. Rest button should reset to the beginning and Exit button should exit program.

The good news is my program works right now. Although I do not believe I am using the setter/getter methods correctly. More importantly I do not fully understand them. I left out the Generated code due to the length.

I am working with Netbeans 8.0 and JSF2.2. I am trying to create a web site that has a common header, footer, and menu. The only part that would be dynamic is the content. So here goes...
1) I need a common template that has 4 parts, Header, Footer, Menu, Content 2) The header, footer and menu are to be in a separate files of which are called from the main template 3) The content will change based on the menu item changed 4) The menu has to change the content section only
I know how to do this in HTML but I am trying to set up some thing in JSF to learn more on JSF pages. All I am looking for is an example that I can follow along with having the multiple pages as well having the menu change the content (I have done a ton of internet searching but nothing really fits the bill).

I am new to Java, I am using Netbeans to create a simple GUI with one button that just says "play". I want this to play an mp3 file i specify. I have found code to simply play a WAV which works great.There is lots of information on the net about playing an mp3 but it's all long an complicated. There must be a simple way to just have java play an mp3 file.

To get starated I now want to create a simple JFrame application that works in the following way. On the opening screen I want to present 4 buttons. Based on the selection I want the JFrame to change layout and components so that the same JFrame behind the scenes contains 5 layouts but only one visible at any time. What is the best way to accomplish this? Or should I do this in another way using multiple JFrames or similar?
My assignment was to create a simple form that demonstrates the use of the factory and singleton design patterns. "Use the Factory pattern to ensure that each form input consists of a text label and a textfield. Use the Singleton pattern for the submit button. When the submit button is clicked, a pop-up should show all the information that was typed into all of the form fields."
I used JFrame to create the form without the design patterns and I although I get the desired result, I'm not quite sure how I can integrate the design patterns into the code I wrote. The example I have to go off uses shapes, not text fields so I think that's why I'm not quite clear on how to approach this.

So I'm trying to create a simple user database that I could eventually turn into a login system. I created a simple table on MySQL with a name and address for the sake of simplicity. I tried to create simple statement inside my main method that would connect to my MySQL server and when I run my program I get a ClassNotFoundException from "org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"..Here is what I have in my main method thus far:

I downloaded Connector/J in the the binary .zip form and extracted it to my C: drive and put the .jar file into my java directories lib folder. I also added the directory of the .jar file into my CLASSPATH and I still get the exception.
How can I view the specific class I highlighted like in the netbeans? I tried everything I see on the google but it just creates the folder and copy the files from here "C:Program FilesJavajdk1.8.0_25docsapi" not within the folder of java/javax.
In the class below I'm trying to create a class that will accept dates in various formats and create a range. The first constructor is easy because I send it the begin date and end date as Date objects. Now I want to send a month(and year) in a constructor and derive the begin and end dates from it. In my constructor that accepts the month/year I need to put the this(startDate, endDate) at the top to be allowed, but the parameters are not built yet.

I've used Netbeans IDE to create a simple Swing JFrame container, class NewJFrame.
NewJFrame calls another JFrame with dialog in it. Problem is there is an endless call made to it. Here's the issue relevant piece of code:

I searched but i cannot understand why run class is getting called multiple times. I have attached the screen prints for both the screens. 2nd screen print(of called class) is very shallow since screen was blinking unstopped due to multiple calls, but i have attached a faint image of it.

The assignment is to create a SmartString class that implements a SmartStringInterface class (created by professor) and implements a few methods. We are basically taking a string and then taking various substrings and inserting, deleting them and undoing changes as well. Here are the methods in the interface to use along with the parameters.

The Undo is supposed to be able to be called multiple times (to be tested using a driver program that we must create) but the part that's got me is that the changes are only supposed to be stored. Currently, I am storing the "new" string after each change onto a stack, so that undo can just pop off the stack and it will revert to the previous string. Professor said that was wrong, so I don't know how to do it. Here is what I have so far (some of the code we have is using default StackADT stuff from our book, so if you need that I can post as well. You can see in the undo method where I currently save the string. We can use multiple stacks if needed, but the less the better. Must use at least 1. The exception code is already coded for us in another file also. I am only having to code these methods and the driver to test.

Why we create a driver class?Instead of creating a driver class, if we want to compile our code so will it show output? Let say, we've created a class GradeBook of the institution for students.So they can easily view their profile information and scores in different semesters.so when we have created a class for this purpose, should we create a driver class or not?What is the big advantage of creating a driver class?
I'm trying to get to grips with the AndEngine, so I've recently gotten hold of their Cookbook, but there's a section that's confusing. I'm using the Eclipse IDE with the section is asking that I create two inner classes to an ObjectFactory class. I'm not sure if what it wants me to do is doable in java or specifically in Eclipse. This is the section of code the book is asking me to create.

It then mentions that the two classes LargeObject and SmallObject are inner classes of BaseObject and extends this class. The ObjectFactory class is meant to determine which subtype of the base class that needs, as well as define the objects properties.
I want to create a class that converts currency. I stored 2 conversion rate as constant (final) variables. In the main method, I ask the user to enter the amount in US dollars that they want to convert. Then I ask the user to enter the currencyType ("Bitcoin" or "Chuck E Cheese").
However I am stuck in the while loop:
I want to use a while loop that basically does this: If the user entered anything else ( not Bitcoin or Chuck E Chesse), then tell the user to try again, and keep reading Strings until they enter a correct currency type. If the user 3 consecutive incorrect currency types, then exit the program.
Take a look at what I have so far.. when I run the program it does not quite do what I want it to do Also, there's something wrong with one of my if statements and I want to figure out how to fix it.
